How are so few people commenting about Goku's message to Gohan - so clearly a warm parting message from Toriyama to his Kids (courtesy of Toyotaro). Even when he's gone, they are strong enough to carry on. This chapter had me flooding tears. It was everything wonderful about dragon ball - wholesome family time, all out funfest brawling, characters teaching eachother to get stronger and a great big meal to celebrate.
honestly i think it's something we're totally going to see because Piccolo, i remeber in end of z, declined to participate in the martial arts tournament because he was "SATISFIED TO WATCH FROM THE STANDS"... so it's totally going to happen soon before the Martial Arts tournament where goku flies off with UUB.
Goku didn't forget Pan. This is some Toriyama humor / joke lost in translation. Piccolo says they have to get Pan, but Pan in Japanese means bread. Goku being his airhead self thought they were speaking about getting actual bread.
Vegeta forgetting the Red Ribbon Army makes sense to me. The organization itself didnt really have an impact on Vegeta, as far as he was concerned there were some really strong human made androids that all happened to be from the same organization. He doesn't care about their background, he cares about the power in front of him. The only character that Vegeta has ever seemed to concern himself with their background was Granolah, and to me it seems to be mostly because it had to do with his own people.
Exactly I don’t know why people miss this. I’m just from rewatching the original anime to check and the RR army as an organization is barely mentioned. Like you said, Vegeta never cared about the background of Gero but only knew he was a scientist who made them.

Bro!!! You are so right!! I am surprised even Geekdom over looked this. Not only this but the fact that Goku also has random moments of forgetfulness!! That’s always been the character. Vegeta was blinded by his goal of being a super saiyan he straight out Sid he doesn’t care about who the are or where they are from he wasn’t listening to future trunks…the amount of times trunks was trying to warn his father and he wouldn’t listen and I feel geekdom and some others are doing the same haha. Like purposely trying to find fault without taking time to understand the characters. Personally I get his criticism of that isn’t what he likes I agree with that because it’s a personal preference but the character of Vegeta was blinded by rage and pride and cared nothing for anyone but himself. Till perfect cell. Only time we ever saw Vegeta be soft hearted was after Goku and gohan came out of the Hyperbolic TC!!! And then the goku thing again personal preference but let’s be honest…this is very much a Goku thing to do 😂!!! And Gohan has blame here to…Gohan never holds Goku to account and he should..it’s hard for him because he is his son but in terms of maturity Gohan is more the parent in that relationship IMO. So gals Piccolo is there for Gohan..Goku at times is just not a present father…that being said..Saiyans are also just like that. Vegeta IMO is the most shocking in terms of his affection for his children. He cares for them deeply. So does Goku just in a different way.
I think obviously Vegeta remembers 18 and Cell, but mabye he just forgot that they are tied with the Red Ribbon Army. I dont think Vegeta cared for those details
Yeah I mean by the time he came around there really was no red ribbon army, only Dr Gero who created the androids and Cell. I didn’t have a problem with that part.
On the Vegeta not remembering Red Ribbon, I chalk it up to Vegeta not actually paying attention to WHO the Androids were made for or who they fought for. His entire thing was "Strong Androids coming? Ima kill em!" He may legit have not remembered or ever really known Red Ribbon
Although it is a major asspull without an explanation I love that Gohan will be (hopefully) relevant again. We need some One Piece villains over here where everyone has someone around their level to fight so everyone can stay relevant, even the humans. Kinda similar to the Moro arc but with a bit more focus on the previous main characters like Krillin and Roshi. Anyways, I'm hyped for the future even though we lost Toriyama sensei, I believe in Toyotaro, he is a major Dragon Ball fan who was mentored by Toriyama himself.
Seeing 6 saiyan sparring and training together, all these years later. It’s my entire life of following this story, and it truly feels like the saiyan race is starting to be rebuilt. It’s super surreal and very bittersweet. This rolling into the end of z is honestly a perfect ending. End here, with toriyamas passing, and push forward afterwards, as toyotarous continuation.
To finally see goku and vegeta mentoring and actually sitting back studying the younger saiyans is a breath of fresh air for the series. Yes I know they’ve both showed flashes of training others in the past (gohan, trunks, goten, etc) but this is dope and definitely needed. Also seeing the saiyan race enjoy the thrill of sparing like it was like back in the day is nice.
Gohan was always this way since the very first arc in Z. He was the first person to do significant damage to raditz at 4 who was fighting both Goku and piccolo. He hit nappa and Vegeta with good shots when he was angered. He even took on second form Frieza in rage. Then what he did to the cell jr's and cell etc. So this fits him well. Honestly "you wouldn't like me when I'm angry" fits Gohan more than it do the hulk now. Couldn't imagine what spopovich would've got at that tournament had Goku not hold Gohan back.
Well said bro!!! People don’t want to accept the character from the jump!!! This has and always will be Gohan-San. He has strengths yes but he also has flaws. And they are all explored just as much as Goku has his flaws/Vegeta has his flaws…and the one character we see with the least flaws is in fact Piccolo but I believe Piccolo was Toriyama-Sensi’ favourite. RIP Akira Toryiama
These leaks have made me think a lot about Broly Second Coming and it made me really happy. That final shot with Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Broly, Goten and Trunks lying exhausted around each other after a giant free for all was one thing we've talked about and dreamed of for so long.
One thing that people haven't paid attention to in the Goku Vs Gohan fight: When Goku notices Broly's excitement, the next panel he EFFORTLESSLY pushes Gohan back with his Ki and disengages. I don't think that is something to sniff at. Anyhow, this to me is the best representation of the Saiyan race we've ever had. Having them all together like this just sparring is genuinely amazing man. We have friggin Broly with these fools now, Goten and Trunks getting inspired, Vegeta looking at his fellow Saiyans with pride. Such great potential going forward.
And Gohan has no reaction or damage and still has tons of energy left afterwards to fight Broly. It doesn’t matter how effortless Goku makes it look…Gohan wasn’t injured at all.

It's very poetic for the last chapter by Toriyama to be titled, "Passing on to the Future" with Dragon Ball's titular characters, Goku and Gohan, being the cover. What a sendoff. RIP Toriyama.
So the official translations just dropped so for the people saying Goku was holding back Goku never said he was holding back he said the point of the fight wasn't beating his son so he doesn't mind not finishing it. That's not implying he was holding back just that it's not a big deal to not finish it

This chapter was great IMO. But one thing I noticed, that I’m getting getting *extremely* hyped about just thinking about it. But in this chapter, Whis mentioned again, if Beerus was thinking of adding Gohan as a God of Destruction candidate. But Beerus said no, because he was too serious, and regardless of the change in Gohan… He’s not the type of person that would be out there destroying people/planets, etc… Out of Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan… Vegeta would be the closest person that would fit the personality to be a God of Destruction. Add the training from Beerus on top of it, you would think he would be the best fit. (But we also know other universes’ Gods of Destruction don’t necessarily destroy what they want, and it seemed to help their universes mortal level, which is directly linked to how well a GoD, and a Supreme Kai does their respective role in that universe. Which we find out Beerus did a poor job compared to other universes.) But what I find interesting, is that everyone went back to Earth *besides Broly*, and his companions. Since Broly is hyped up as much as Gohan when it comes to potential, and Beerus quickly ruling out Gohan as a GoD candidate, then I’m thinking this is the “planting of seeds” for Broly becoming the next God of Destruction. (If Vegeta doesn’t end up being Beerus’ choice.) I think it would be completely hype to finally get a Saiyan GoD. And seemingly, Now Broly is most likely going to continue training with Whis in the very least, and maybe Beerus realizes his potential and decides he’s the one who will succeed him. Idk, this chapter was just so hype, and I really hope they continue with it. Because it seems like the story has an infinite number of directions it can go. We had them mention all the Saiyans killed by Frieza, and even Bardock, and Raditz in the Granola arc. And the possibility of bringing them back would create a lot of cool interactions. We have Black Frieza to contend with… (And in the one manga chapter, after the ToP, the narrator said that Frieza was going to be sent “home”. Which would be cool to get more information on his race, and would provide a golden opportunity to introduce Cooler into the story as a canon character. I always thought Cooler, and Broly were the best DBZ movie villains. Cooler had an amazing design, and his final form looked so sick. And Broly was simply a legend. They can do so much… This chapter kind of reinvigorated my hype with Dragon Ball. Well… I geeked out enough, lmao. I also want to again say rest in peace Akira Toriyama. Thank you for bridging Japan, and the US (and even the rest of the world) with your iconic works of art. If it wasn’t for DB/DBZ, I don’t believe the US would have had many anime watchers. Sure some, but it’s ultimately what brought the attention for all the other animes, and why those movies do extremely well in the West. And Thank you Akira Toriyama for all the great memories throughout my childhood, and continuing to entertain all of us until your last breath. You will be truly missed, and I hope you’re at peace. I also thought about broly being the next God of destruction it just make perfect sense and I mean vegeta could be the next God of destruction for universe 6, and he could train cabba like goku with ubb. They could canonize cooler, freeza said that he train with someone for 10 years in a different time chamber. Future trunks could become the supreme Kai from his timeline, and could learn how to fuse with the other future trunks, also remember in the goku black arc the supreme Kai are the only ones who can travel to time legally. Exciting possibilities are ahead.

I agree @MinhLe19303 as Carmine is still rotten to the core and he did say to 15 that he plans on developing drugs to start his own drug trafficking business and building his own crime empire. But most important, you are all forgetting about Carmine and 15 recording Goku, Gohan and Broly's new transformations on camera. So maybe Gohan, Trunks and Goten are right about Carmine still being evil and he was lying about changing as he said those things out of fear to avoid Goku and Gohan's wrath. So Carmine and 15 escapes with the camera.

The beast transformation sounds cool. It seems like it allows you to continue taking in ki. I also found it funny how while Gohan is charging in at Goku, he is more concentrated on Broly's statement.
Vegeta not recognizing the RR Army name isn’t that crazy. I mean, it was barely mentioned for and the main concern during that arc were the androids themselves. It’s within character, especially at that time, that he didn’t care about the details and only cared about the strong opponents. Goku forgetting Pan’s name isn’t that big either, especially since it was obviously more for comedy and to illustrate how much they’ve been away from home. People get too caught up on tiny details like that when they’re barely meant to mean much in the overall story.
You’re so right dude. I feel sometimes people lose sight of the nature of these characters. The people they were and the people they are now. The amount of times Vegeta has said he was not in his right mind at certain periods in the story of his DBZ and DBS journey. I couldn’t agree more, trying to find fault where there isn’t any doesn’t make sense especially from someone as knowledgeable as geekdom. But I understand his personal preference in the situation personally it would have carried more weight if Vegeta did remember but at the same time the guy was high on Super Sayian juice!!!!

it was one of the most important sagas of his life and also when he first showed off his ss... u think a warrior like vegeta would remember his opponents. especially the on level with him and beyond ones like cell. its bad writting like making goku derp all the time. lets see how goku was so concerned about his kid in radditz arc. the man would not forget his kin. also he had time with pan as a baby... once scene i remember is him and piccolo on roof talking about it. i think pre top arc. ya but hopefully toyo will get better. these last chapters until EOZ brought hype. cant wait to see how the guy makes sense of it all now.
The "What's that?" line may just be an expression like "Come again?" or "Did I hear that right?" and not actually asking what the Red Ribbon Army is. Edit: Additional thought since no one answered or responded I think supports it was not a question.
Just one thing. The fish prophecy was about frieza. The fish said it will soon emerge gohan beast came 2-3 years later. Also chapter 83 was called “the universe strongest appears” which was where we saw Frieza emerge.

This chapter was really good. Only thing I wish is we got a Piccolo vs Goku sparing match. I understand I guess they need a break. It was cool too see Mui Goku fighting again love his combat style. That goodbye wave from Piccolo gave me goosebumps.
Vegeta didn't forget the RR army, in the official Viz translation when Gohan mentioned that they are RR, Vegeta asked "and why are they here?" and not "what's that?". It's just a translation error in this unofficial translation you found.
Two things, I think there might be an alternative way to look at two of those things you didn't like. First, Vegeta may have been saying "What's that?" as a question like he didn't think he heard him right and not that he didn't know what it was based on the images there. The Goku forgetting his grand daughter could have been Goku not recognizing her and how she has grown but everyone jumping down his throat like he didn't know he even had a grand daughter does make it seem like he did

I haven’t been keeping up with everything so I could be wrong. And I know I’m simplifying it. But It sounds like Ultra Instinct is about dodging hits, Ultra ego is about taking hits, and Beast Gohan is about landing hits.
UI is about the body moving independently for better reaction times, both offensively and defensively. UE is about the "boundless" power of the Hakaishin, even using damage to increase god ki. Beast is about using the potential of rage to maximize ki generation in order to allocate it wherever necessary, such as attack and speed.
I took vegeta saying “whats that?” More as a “what did you say?” Like a “did i hear that right?” Because he assumed they were all gone. Cant defend the goku forgetting bit though.
vegeta should have said "Red Ribbon??", Goku should have said "Isn't Pan just a baby?"etc. like they could keep the same dialogue just make it more natural i guess
I could be wrong but I don’t actually genuinely recall vegeta ever being present or within earshot when talking about red ribbon specifically, they just told him that there were androids and ‘that’s all you need to know’ and that’s all he cared about. Next chapter, they could go in depth with them making him realize that red ribbon army was responsible for the androids/cell
@@Thecor13 I can't believe I have to point this out, but none of this happened in the movie. It is a filler, it's not necessarily an arc, it's just a conclusion to plot threads that were left unresolved to the connotations the film created. The adaptation ended about 4 issues ago

I feel like they will continue the next arch after being on brake. I also feel like Toriyama had alot of ideas within his computer of how he wanted this arch to end or take place.
Maybe Vegeta didn't really know about the red ribbon army or that Android 18 was an android that was created by Dr Gero who was responsible for the Red Ribbon Army to begin with back in DBZ. They were destroyed before Vegeta was introduced in Dragon Ball. Back then all Vegeta cared about was his Super Saiyan power and nothing else. He was too prideful in himself to care where the Androids were from.
It would’ve been nice or wholesome if vegeta said something to himself at least about seeing how far his saiyan race has come since he is still technically the prince of it but other than that it is a good chapter
Next arc is either Black Frieza or End of Z imo. Gohan introduced a path without God ki and Broly will likely follow that path as well. This could be the way to explain End of Z without a hard recon. The only issue I see is Uub.
It’s just a theory but I think a side effect of using divine ki and spending so much time in the holy realms creates less attachment to standard information and memories in the lower realms. I think that’s why Prince and Son are slipping. It makes sense why deities like Beerus are more bound to their purpose and mood swings rather than develop meaningful relationships; lack of attachment helps Beerus be a Destroyer.
Vegeta has never heard of the RR army. He's heard of Dr. Gero. Not the army. In Z any discussion of Red Ribbon was exclusive to Goku. Trunks, and Piccolo. Or flashbacks. Nobody ever explained Red Ribbon or Goku's kid adventures to Vegeta. I mean, maybe Piccolo DID mention it to them but it wasn't on panel or screen so yeah. He could have just been like. "So anyways guys theres a mad scientist creating killer robots and they murder us all." lol. It's clear the Gohan and Broly were a better mach in terms of training, as Goku and Vegeta are traveling further down a divine path of power, Gohan is a saiyan hybrid and making Broly learn instinct or ego would be counterproductive and weird, he has that weird primal saiyan thing going for him.
When Vegeta said ,"what's that?" I don't think he was asking what the RR army was as in,"what IS that?" but more so in the context of, "Excuse me?" or "what you say?" or "did I hear correctly?" or "oh really". I think it was a statement expressed in a way to fit the comic relief tone because he was stuffing his face with food. Like he was hearing him but not too interested because, well we know Saiyan's mannerisms when they eat. It's not possible that Vegeta is unaware of the RR not just because he faught 18. But his wife knows who Dr. Gero is whom he saw in person when he killed 19. Trunks his son is the one who warned them and what the motive of Gero was. Which was revenge on Goku for destroying RR army. There's no way Toyotaro forgot that and even if he did someone in staff would have caught that. To actually go out the way and have Vegeta make that statement in that since would be very odd. So more than likely it's just and expression as if to say," did you just say what I think you did?"
I really think at some point, Frieza will hire Red Ribbon Army for something, it gonna be two of the main villains teaming up. I don't know what the red Ribbon have to offer yet, but, just for the form, I'd like that.
The main message I got from the past couple chapters, is our man Vegeta, is playing straight bottom right now. Get our mans a power up or master UE or something. We got Goku and Gohan going at it full power and my dude can't even fathom it. Dirty stuff
Well Goku wasn't necessarily at full power. Gohan was but he couldn't use his rage to unlock the full potential of his beast so he blinks in and out of his rage to draw out his full power. However, Goku is just testing Gohan and both Vegeta and Beerus clearly state that even though Gohan is faster Goku U.I had is giving him the edge

And i may not remember right but in the manga, sub and dub i don't recall anyone out right stating what the red ribbon army is, i think they just told him gero made the andoids but i don't think anyone ever said they're from the red ribbon army. Also seems beerus is the new king kai
I dislike How you keep saying this confirms Whis was talking about gohan by your own actual head cannon. Gohan isn’t stronger than them much less black frieza. So gohan is not the strongest idk how anyone gets that from this. Hes strong for damn sure. But goku at the same time wasn’t going all out. As much as you love dragon ball you should be able to tell. Goku was literally up’ing his energy every time gohan up’d his. Like he always does. Goku was no where near full power.
After getting kicked, goku powered up and land a combo. Then gohan lands a combo and knock goku out of ui. Gohan states he could go berserk with his power but is trying to control it which states he’s not at fully power. Neither went full power but both matched each others fighting spirit. It was the oracle fish bringing up a new strongest.
It's dumb to try and draw conclusions from a sparring match where no one is trying to seriously hurt their opponent. It's like saying Goten and Trunks must be SSB level cause they fought Broly without getting vaporized.
As far as Vegeta not remembering RR, to be fair, the Red Ribbon Army is never really mentioned to Vegeta properly. He is told via Piccolo that the androids/cyborgs are created by Dr. Gero and when and where they'll appear. Beyond that things just really rolled out naturally without further mention of RR.
Toyotaro meat riding Vegeta by making him look like he is a better father, a more caring husband and smarter in a lot of aspects and always making Goku look stupid for fun. This reminded me of the scene where Vegeta said Goku was a “terrible” father, the time when Goku “apparently” didn’t know how to kiss and this scene of Goku and Pan. Feel so sorry for the goat that gets shit on by the writer and needs him as a character and other aspects
When they are eating and vegeta says “what’s that”? I think it may be he didn’t quite hear him. Like when someone say something to you and you didn’t hear them you’d say.. what’s that now?
I called it on your chapter 100-101 video about a battle royal. I really wanna see fusion of broly and gohan in the future. You could say goku could have memory issues Gohan and broly being similar "beast" could be a from mutations in their dna. Gokus what above 50s now. With how many fights ans how many times hes been knocked out wouldn't doubt if he has memory issues.
When Vegeta said "whats that" he was basically saying "come again" like basically saying you dont say? Ikari is the name of the oozaru based amp broly gets from the movie. Future Trunks form is SS ikari or rage in the english dub.

My humble comments, Vegeta forgetting RR, I could be wrong, I don’t think Dr Gero have really ever introduced the RR formally to Vegeta and gang. Or anyone explain the history of RR to Vegeta during the Android arc. Or Vegeta never cared to pay attention or was not present when it was discussed. Also, my theory on why Vegeta didn’t go UE against Gohan is due to pride and fairness. He knew Gohan expend a lot of stamina and ki vs Goku and Broly. Because he was fresh, going UE might not be a fair fight. Secondly, he wanted to test his SSBE first against a potentially tired Gohan. I think maybe Gohan was the last piece of the puzzle for Broly to control his SSJ, esp when Gohan explained how he controlled his max power, before he goes berserk he raise his ki to control it. Maybe Goku and Broly heard it… but we know Broly can also learn very quickly during a fight, so he picked up something from fighting with Gohan to ultimately be able to go SSJ and control it. Something fighting Goku and Vegeta didn’t provide. I think this is what Goku sense and why Goku wanted Gohan to Fight Broly. Gohan was able to show Broly Ultimate and Beast…and including what he said about ki control, Broly finally got it. -- a theory of mine only. Just having fun with it while also using details i paid attention to.
Just read the viz translation so im late but man oh man... I almost teared up a couple times... Goku's words to Gohan... Piccolo waving to the teacher, but in a way to the audience, as they fly away into the sky... 😢 Never thought I'd be emotional about Toriyama but man he will be loved, missed, and cherished for times on end... 😊 I was also half expecting to see Tori-Bot somewhere

UI is useless. If you could just surpass the UI evasion by being stronger, it really makes no difference whether you use UI , SSB or any other form since we've always known stronger=faster in DB.

Frieza had different intentions though and within same breath gohan did knock goku out of ui. I don’t think beast is stronger than black frieza at the moment but eventually yea. Great review! These chapters looked really cool, and honestly I'm looking forward to what they do. I hope Toyotaro and the rest of the team is given time to grieve and figure things out because of the pressure on them now. Honestly I was okay with not seeing the rest of the Saiyan free for all, nice to have some mystery left, and honestly Vegeta forgetting about the Red Ribbon Army isn't too bad to me, since he really just cared about fighting the Androids and Cell, he didn't really care about the backstory of the RR or the organization, he just wanted to prove himself in a fight. But you're right, Goku forgetting Pan is almost unforgivable.
I don't think Carmine will stop his pursuit for world domination for good, just for now. Once he has the funds he needs, he'll be back. That much felt kind of foreshadowed with Trunks doubting that they were really done.
Yall have to understand that these guys have been through so much shit, that something like red ribbon army which goku could destroy in base. Plus Vegeta only dealt with RR in the android/cell saga. @zetset8098 pretty sure Goku and Vegeta especially based on this battle(spar) goku had to beat Moro the same way by going through his head. Plus they have more experience than Gohan it's just that Gohan has more RAW power but goku and vegeta have way more tricks up their sleeve. It wouldn't be a walk in the park but they'd get it done. Remember replace Gohan with goku/vegeta in the superhero movie and the Z warriors still get the dub.

I think the future of the mainline of the franchise is going to be Gohan and Broly stepping into the spotlight as the main duo with Goku and Vegeta moving into more of a mentor role. I don't think that will happen straight away, but I feel like they were hinting that transition in this chapter with the dynamic they started to build between Gohan and Broly. Toyotaro has also had alot more involvement in Broly's development than other characters so it would be great to him move the series forward with a main character of his own

Vegeta forgetting the Red Ribbon Army makes sense to me. The organization itself didnt really have an impact on Vegeta, as far as he was concerned there were some really strong human made androids that all happened to be from the same organization. He doesn't care about their background, he cares about the power in front of him. The only character that Vegeta has ever seemed to concern himself with their background was Granolah, and to me it seems to be mostly because it had to do with his own people.

Seeing 6 saiyan sparring and training together, all these years later. It’s my entire life of following this story, and it truly feels like the saiyan race is starting to be rebuilt. It’s super surreal and very bittersweet. This rolling into the end of z is honestly a perfect ending. End here, with toriyamas passing, and push forward afterwards, as toyotarous continuation.

To finally see goku and vegeta mentoring and actually sitting back studying the younger saiyans is a breath of fresh air for the series. Yes I know they’ve both showed flashes of training others in the past (gohan, trunks, goten, etc) but this is dope and definitely needed. Also seeing the saiyan race enjoy the thrill of sparing like it was like back in the day is nice.

I don't recall there ever being a time where Vegeta actually heard the R&R by name from Trunks, just the warning about the androids.
It does feel like they’re setting up for Broly and Gohan to train together more, it would make the most sense.
Gohan was always this way since the very first arc in Z. He was the first person to do significant damage to raditz at 4 who was fighting both Goku and piccolo. He hit nappa and Vegeta with good shots when he was angered. He even took on second form Frieza in rage. Then what he did to the cell jr's and cell etc. So this fits him well. Honestly "you wouldn't like me when I'm angry" fits Gohan more than it do the hulk now. Couldn't imagine what spopovich would've got at that tournament had Goku not hold Gohan back.

These leaks have made me think a lot about Broly Second Coming and it made me really happy. That final shot with Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Broly, Goten and Trunks lying exhausted around each other after a giant free for all was one thing we've talked about and dreamed of for so long.
It was nice that they showed Pan and Goku having a flying race near the end of the chapter.
Ngl I was kinda worried that they would remove that special relationship that Pan and Goku had in End of Z and GT.
One thing that people haven't paid attention to in the Goku Vs Gohan fight:
When Goku notices Broly's excitement, the next panel he EFFORTLESSLY pushes Gohan back with his Ki and disengages. I don't think that is something to sniff at.
Anyhow, this to me is the best representation of the Saiyan race we've ever had. Having them all together like this just sparring is genuinely amazing man. We have friggin Broly with these fools now, Goten and Trunks getting inspired, Vegeta looking at his fellow Saiyans with pride. Such great potential going forward.
And Gohan has no reaction or damage and still has tons of energy left afterwards to fight Broly. It doesn’t matter how effortless Goku makes it look…Gohan wasn’t injured at all.

This chapter was great IMO. But one thing I noticed, that I’m getting getting *extremely* hyped about just thinking about it. But in this chapter, Whis mentioned again, if Beerus was thinking of adding Gohan as a God of Destruction candidate. But Beerus said no, because he was too serious, and regardless of the change in Gohan… He’s not the type of person that would be out there destroying people/planets, etc…
Out of Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan… Vegeta would be the closest person that would fit the personality to be a God of Destruction. Add the training from Beerus on top of it, you would think he would be the best fit. (But we also know other universes’ Gods of Destruction don’t necessarily destroy what they want, and it seemed to help their universes mortal level, which is directly linked to how well a GoD, and a Supreme Kai does their respective role in that universe. Which we find out Beerus did a poor job compared to other universes.)
But what I find interesting, is that everyone went back to Earth *besides Broly*, and his companions. Since Broly is hyped up as much as Gohan when it comes to potential, and Beerus quickly ruling out Gohan as a GoD candidate, then I’m thinking this is the “planting of seeds” for Broly becoming the next God of Destruction. (If Vegeta doesn’t end up being Beerus’ choice.) I think it would be completely hype to finally get a Saiyan GoD. And seemingly, Now Broly is most likely going to continue training with Whis in the very least, and maybe Beerus realizes his potential and decides he’s the one who will succeed him.
Idk, this chapter was just so hype, and I really hope they continue with it. Because it seems like the story has an infinite number of directions it can go. We had them mention all the Saiyans killed by Frieza, and even Bardock, and Raditz in the Granola arc. And the possibility of bringing them back would create a lot of cool interactions. We have Black Frieza to contend with… (And in the one manga chapter, after the ToP, the narrator said that Frieza was going to be sent “home”. Which would be cool to get more information on his race, and would provide a golden opportunity to introduce Cooler into the story as a canon character. I always thought Cooler, and Broly were the best DBZ movie villains. Cooler had an amazing design, and his final form looked so sick. And Broly was simply a legend. They can do so much… This chapter kind of reinvigorated my hype with Dragon Ball.
Well… I geeked out enough, lmao. I also want to again say rest in peace Akira Toriyama. Thank you for bridging Japan, and the US (and even the rest of the world) with your iconic works of art. If it wasn’t for DB/DBZ, I don’t believe the US would have had many anime watchers. Sure some, but it’s ultimately what brought the attention for all the other animes, and why those movies do extremely well in the West. And Thank you Akira Toriyama for all the great memories throughout my childhood, and continuing to entertain all of us until your last breath. You will be truly missed, and I hope you’re at peace. I also thought about broly being the next God of destruction it just make perfect sense and I mean vegeta could be the next God of destruction for universe 6, and he could train cabba like goku with ubb.
They could canonize cooler, freeza said that he train with someone for 10 years in a different time chamber.
Future trunks could become the supreme Kai from his timeline, and could learn how to fuse with the other future trunks, also remember in the goku black arc the supreme Kai are the only ones who can travel to time legally.
Exciting possibilities are ahead.

Vegeta not recognizing the RR Army name isn’t that crazy. I mean, it was barely mentioned for and the main concern during that arc were the androids themselves. It’s within character, especially at that time, that he didn’t care about the details and only cared about the strong opponents. Goku forgetting Pan’s name isn’t that big either, especially since it was obviously more for comedy and to illustrate how much they’ve been away from home. People get too caught up on tiny details like that when they’re barely meant to mean much in the overall story.
You’re so right dude. I feel sometimes people lose sight of the nature of these characters. The people they were and the people they are now. The amount of times Vegeta has said he was not in his right mind at certain periods in the story of his DBZ and DBS journey. I couldn’t agree more, trying to find fault where there isn’t any doesn’t make sense especially from someone as knowledgeable as geekdom. But I understand his personal preference in the situation personally it would have carried more weight if Vegeta did remember but at the same time the guy was high on Super Sayian juice!!!!

Vegeta didn't forget the RR army, in the official Viz translation when Gohan mentioned that they are RR, Vegeta asked "and why are they here?" and not "what's that?".
It's just a translation error in this unofficial translation you found.
Two things, I think there might be an alternative way to look at two of those things you didn't like. First, Vegeta may have been saying "What's that?" as a question like he didn't think he heard him right and not that he didn't know what it was based on the images there. The Goku forgetting his grand daughter could have been Goku not recognizing her and how she has grown but everyone jumping down his throat like he didn't know he even had a grand daughter does make it seem like he did

vegeta should have said "Red Ribbon??", Goku should have said "Isn't Pan just a baby?"etc. like they could keep the same dialogue just make it more natural i guess

I could be wrong but I don’t actually genuinely recall vegeta ever being present or within earshot when talking about red ribbon specifically, they just told him that there were androids and ‘that’s all you need to know’ and that’s all he cared about. Next chapter, they could go in depth with them making him realize that red ribbon army was responsible for the androids/cell
Even if a filler arc, it would be extremely meaningful to me, as a lifelong fan, to have a grandpa Goku arc to go full circle.
This is not a filler arc. It's a adaptation of the movie in manga standards
@@Thecor13 I can't believe I have to point this out, but none of this happened in the movie. It is a filler, it's not necessarily an arc, it's just a conclusion to plot threads that were left unresolved to the connotations the film created. The adaptation ended about 4 issues ago

When I read the manga today Vegeta didn’t ask who the red ribbon army was. He asked why they were there on Beerus’ planet.
I'll take Gohan vs Black freiza over anything. It was teased in the TOP. Gohan Definitely owes Freiza a beating. I hope Freiza has a strong team as well so we can see everyone in action.

Probably Vegeta didn’t care that Gero is from Red Ribbon. Maybe he’d remember if they said androids or Gero or Cell. Plus that was like 10-15 years ago lol
I feel like they will continue the next arch after being on brake. I also feel like Toriyama had alot of ideas within his computer of how he wanted this arch to end or take place.
Maybe Vegeta didn't really know about the red ribbon army or that Android 18 was an android that was created by Dr Gero who was responsible for the Red Ribbon Army to begin with back in DBZ. They were destroyed before Vegeta was introduced in Dragon Ball. Back then all Vegeta cared about was his Super Saiyan power and nothing else. He was too prideful in himself to care where the Androids were from.
It would’ve been nice or wholesome if vegeta said something to himself at least about seeing how far his saiyan race has come since he is still technically the prince of it but other than that it is a good chapter
Next arc is either Black Frieza or End of Z imo. Gohan introduced a path without God ki and Broly will likely follow that path as well. This could be the way to explain End of Z without a hard recon. The only issue I see is Uub.
It’s just a theory but I think a side effect of using divine ki and spending so much time in the holy realms creates less attachment to standard information and memories in the lower realms.
I think that’s why Prince and Son are slipping. It makes sense why deities like Beerus are more bound to their purpose and mood swings rather than develop meaningful relationships; lack of attachment helps Beerus be a Destroyer.
Vegeta has never heard of the RR army. He's heard of Dr. Gero. Not the army. In Z any discussion of Red Ribbon was exclusive to Goku. Trunks, and Piccolo. Or flashbacks. Nobody ever explained Red Ribbon or Goku's kid adventures to Vegeta.
I mean, maybe Piccolo DID mention it to them but it wasn't on panel or screen so yeah. He could have just been like. "So anyways guys theres a mad scientist creating killer robots and they murder us all." lol.
It's clear the Gohan and Broly were a better mach in terms of training, as Goku and Vegeta are traveling further down a divine path of power, Gohan is a saiyan hybrid and making Broly learn instinct or ego would be counterproductive and weird, he has that weird primal saiyan thing going for him.
When Vegeta said ,"what's that?" I don't think he was asking what the RR army was as in,"what IS that?" but more so in the context of, "Excuse me?" or "what you say?" or "did I hear correctly?" or "oh really". I think it was a statement expressed in a way to fit the comic relief tone because he was stuffing his face with food. Like he was hearing him but not too interested because, well we know Saiyan's mannerisms when they eat. It's not possible that
Vegeta is unaware of the RR not just because he faught 18. But his wife knows who Dr. Gero is whom he saw in person when he killed 19.
Trunks his son is the one who warned them and what the motive of Gero was. Which was revenge on Goku for destroying RR army. There's no way Toyotaro forgot that and even if he did someone in staff would have caught that. To actually go out the way and have Vegeta make that statement in that since would be very odd. So more than likely it's just and expression as if to say," did you just say what I think you did?"

Well Goku wasn't necessarily at full power. Gohan was but he couldn't use his rage to unlock the full potential of his beast so he blinks in and out of his rage to draw out his full power. However, Goku is just testing Gohan and both Vegeta and Beerus clearly state that even though Gohan is faster Goku U.I had is giving him the edge

I dislike How you keep saying this confirms Whis was talking about gohan by your own actual head cannon. Gohan isn’t stronger than them much less black frieza. Goku was literally up’ing his energy every time gohan up’d his. Like he always does. Goku was no where near full power.

After getting kicked, goku powered up and land a combo. Then gohan lands a combo and knock goku out of ui. Gohan states he could go berserk with his power but is trying to control it which states he’s not at fully power. Neither went full power but both matched each others fighting spirit. It was the oracle fish bringing up a new strongest.
It's dumb to try and draw conclusions from a sparring match where no one is trying to seriously hurt their opponent.
It's like saying Goten and Trunks must be SSB level cause they fought Broly without getting vaporized.
As far as Vegeta not remembering RR, to be fair, the Red Ribbon Army is never really mentioned to Vegeta properly. He is told via Piccolo that the androids/cyborgs are created by Dr. Gero and when and where they'll appear. Beyond that things just really rolled out naturally without further mention of RR.
Toyotaro meat riding Vegeta by making him look like he is a better father, a more caring husband and smarter in a lot of aspects and always making Goku look stupid for fun. This reminded me of the scene where Vegeta said Goku was a “terrible” father, the time when Goku “apparently” didn’t know how to kiss and this scene of Goku and Pan. Feel so sorry for the goat that gets shit on by the writer and needs him as a character and other aspects

My humble comments, Vegeta forgetting RR, I could be wrong, I don’t think Dr Gero have really ever introduced the RR formally to Vegeta and gang. Or anyone explain the history of RR to Vegeta during the Android arc. Or Vegeta never cared to pay attention or was not present when it was discussed.
Also, my theory on why Vegeta didn’t go UE against Gohan is due to pride and fairness. He knew Gohan expend a lot of stamina and ki vs Goku and Broly. Because he was fresh, going UE might not be a fair fight. Secondly, he wanted to test his SSBE first against a potentially tired Gohan.
I think maybe Gohan was the last piece of the puzzle for Broly to control his SSJ, esp when Gohan explained how he controlled his max power, before he goes berserk he raise his ki to control it. Maybe Goku and Broly heard it… but we know Broly can also learn very quickly during a fight, so he picked up something from fighting with Gohan to ultimately be able to go SSJ and control it. Something fighting Goku and Vegeta didn’t provide. I think this is what Goku sense and why Goku wanted Gohan to Fight Broly. Gohan was able to show Broly Ultimate and Beast…and including what he said about ki control, Broly finally got it. -- a theory of mine only. Just having fun with it while also using details i paid attention to.

Frieza had different intentions though and within same breath gohan did knock goku out of ui. I don’t think beast is stronger than black frieza at the moment but eventually yea. It would be cool if broly and gohan teamed up to beat frieza because broly will get revenge for his dad and gohan lives up to his words from top

Honestly I was okay with not seeing the rest of the Saiyan free for all, nice to have some mystery left, and honestly Vegeta forgetting about the Red Ribbon Army isn't too bad to me, since he really just cared about fighting the Androids and Cell, he didn't really care about the backstory of the RR or the organization, he just wanted to prove himself in a fight. But you're right, Goku forgetting Pan is almost unforgivable.

@zetset8098 pretty sure Goku and Vegeta especially based on this battle(spar) goku had to beat Moro the same way by going through his head. Plus they have more experience than Gohan it's just that Gohan has more RAW power but goku and vegeta have way more tricks up their sleeve. It wouldn't be a walk in the park but they'd get it done. Remember replace Gohan with goku/vegeta in the superhero movie and the Z warriors still get the dub.

It's funny how whole chapter 103 not showed you Gohan Beast is not joke so that's mean Orange Piccolo or Cell Max was also not joke. Wait for Piccolo vs Goku probably will be in new arc.

I think the future of the mainline of the franchise is going to be Gohan and Broly stepping into the spotlight as the main duo with Goku and Vegeta moving into more of a mentor role. I don't think that will happen straight away, but I feel like they were hinting that transition in this chapter with the dynamic they started to build between Gohan and Broly. Toyotaro has also had alot more involvement in Broly's development than other characters so it would be great to him move the series forward with a main character of his own
