Works perfectly, I added an USB hub with 4 ports to this setup to plug my SNES usb iBuffalo wired controller which the firestick and retroarch detected immediately ! Even added a logitech wireless keyboard using the USB dongle in my hub. thanks for the tutorial
The arcade version of Miss Pac-Man does require a bios. However Miss Pac-Man is on a bunch of different systems that doesn't require bios like a NES, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Game Boy Advance, etc. There is a Game Boy Advance version of Miss Pac-Man that is actually a pretty decent one when compared to the arcade version. I think it's inside the Namco anniversary collection
I have one of the older 8Bitdo NES30 controllers and it doesn't work with any of the newer versions of Retroarch (works fine with very old versions). The button mapping is all screwy. I had to make a custom config file for it in Retropie just to get it to work with my 3B+. When I mapped the buttons in Retroarch then opened the config file, the mappings were for button numbers that only exist on the Pro controller, not the older one.
With this sf30 pro I didn't have to do anything with button mapping it just worked as is. When pairing with this controller it requires certain buttons to be pushed for different operating systems such as ios, android and windows. have you tried using the 8bitdo usb adapter? The controller will pair with adapter which has updated button mapping configurations.
Migen is almost impossible to emulate, mainly because not many people support it anymore so no ways were made. I did find something similar to play mugen though, you would install steam link, open steam, connect it, maybe open a game from steam, then hit windows button, now search your mugen and open it. Should be casting mugen now and as long as your controller is connected, you should be able to play.
Have you had any luck using an SD card reader as the storage? I've followed these steps trying several of mine and can never get it to show up in ES File Explorer or Retroarch.
I loaded MAME 2003 with the 0.78 Romset on RetroArch on my FireTV. I did a manual scan adding the DAT file. When I go to my new playlist everything looks good but when I hit RUN on any game, it closes RetroArch. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I assume I am missing something.
Any idea why it wont detect my flash drive? It worked before, then I accidentally deleted the app and reinstalled and now it wont detect the usb drive anymore.
Hey, have u hacked the Genesis Flashback? Heard u can add extra games on it now as the 2018 model has an SD slot. Kinda random question, I don't have one I just thought it was interesting that it was hacked.
Hey 8 Bit Flashback I got a firestick lite 4 Christmas this year do you know of any block ads apps for the firestick lite and how to setup a unofficial off brand PS4 controller to firestick lite. Ps... Keep on making awesome videos Ps.. You Rock

Curious if you've found a way to store directly to sd
You can download retroarch directly to the firestick, no need for a usb drive. You can even download roms from the firestick. Just did it yesterday
really? nothing fancy beyond that?
If you do that it uses up so much memory on the firestick though
@@siqaraminmassaquoi1999 I can be done though.
Funny you showed Ms. Pac Man, I'm using this tutorial to set up my wife's Fire Stick to play Ms. Pac Man as that's the only game she'll play.
Nice
@8 Bit Flashback Does Ms Pac Man require a bios to run? I haven't emulated Mame before.

Thanks for great tutorial! My nephews are addicted to Mugen. Have you found a way to add Mugen to a 4k stick?

I’m having the same issue. Have you figured it out by any chance?
Same issue here curious if anyone has figured this out (toshiba fire tv edition)
It could be with the SD card, or need to format it to fat32, or the otg cord (need one that constantly charges).

Go look at ETA Prime video here on RUclips. He explains what to do when that happens
You download the app and also the files under the folder system? If so, where can I get those from? Thanks

So basically the fire TV has to be online (internet needed) for you to play games, correct?
To download cores & ES file explorer but after that it can be offline
