I enjoyed hearing Sgt Casey's voice. Strong and trouble free, but you could still hear the impact the loss of American life had on him.
I recall watching a program on Vietnam Snipers a number of years ago, and someone asked the Sniper he was interviewing if he was troubled by the many kills he had made. The American Sniper reponded, "It's not about the number of enemies killed, it's about the number of Americans you save."
Thank you Sgt. Casey for the many American lives you have saved.

@@andrewcondrey9131Welcome home sir. I cannot image what you experienced, but thank you for your service. I have an uncle who returned home from the war, but never really came home. Never spoke about it. I discovered Vietnam in junior high school when a camp counselor who was also ROTC gave me a book about the 173. After I finished he pointed out his father was one of the soldiers in the book. Needed to know more. Movies, books, SOG, SEALs, you name it. Basically my major in college. Army following that. Visited Vietnam a few times including many of the historical war sites. Very humbling. That being said it was not what I expected at all. Dior stores in Hanoi. Capitalism is victorious and the era of political communism continues to fade as citizens continue to educate themselves. Heck, I did business with a travel agent through their 5 year old daughter who learned English from Mickey Mouse cartoons on RUclips. In the end the better systems will prevail.

If you are watching these interviews, I believe you understand how these men and women are our heroes. Jesus Christ was the ultimate hero who died for all humanity. He is my first and best hero that ever walked this earth. Most of these soldiers, who went through hell fighting for our country are Christians. They might not of been believers going in but came out as believers. Pray to God to show you the way. He will answer your prayers. If you are sincere in your asking Him. God bless you ✝️

My name is Levi Preston. Thomas Casey, or as i called him "Grandtom" had to be the best grandfather I could've ever ask for. He was such a great man, and I miss him every day. I had countless memories with him that I will cherish forever. I remember watching all the old war movies and him telling me about all of his experiences, He was one of the bravest and wisest men I have ever met in my life. I love and miss him so much. Was always an incredible man. I still remember his deep belly laugh, his laugh could put a smile on everyone's face, it certainly put a smile on mine! He taught me how to play golf, and he and I watched tons of war movies and documentaries together. He would watch a couple NASCAR races with me here and there since I was and still am a NASCAR fan. Hearing how many different was he was an inspiration was astonishing. Last thing he ever said to me was "Levi, I love you and I'm proud of you." He had also said that in a bible that he had left for me, and I think about those words every single day. What an incredible video! Was always an incredible man.

Not a failure of my parents, my father died when I was 17. It was the discipline instilled in me by my father that helped in the Corps. The Corps built on that, helped me to learn that my mind will want to quit long before my body can't go on. The Corps made me push limits and fears, that with the proper mindset, there isn't anything to keep me from a goal. The Corps just picked up where my dad left off. @@Midwest10

Larry, i keep going back over your videos as I listen to them as i work.
I only spent 10 years in the United States Army, '86-'96. And i have the honor of serving alongside many many vietnam veterans and believe it or not a couple of men that hit the service at the end of the Korean war.
I served 21 months in the 2nd Infantry Division up at Camp Casey, in South Korea. It was there, as a young 19 year old, i got interested in politics because i wanted to know why we were still in Korea. My eyes have been open every since.
Every conflict since the Korean war was over political pissing contests, and politics hampered what we, as a miltiary, were trained to do. And it was politics that got most of our fellow service men killed. I've been mad every since that day I visited a museum up at Casey and saw the Poplar tree stump that was the result of the Panmunjom Axe Murders of Captain Arthur Bonifas and First Lieutenant Mark Barrett, by North Korean soldiers on August 18, 1976, in the Joint Security Area on the DMZ.
The events steadily unfolding everyday now make me even madder.
I pray for all of my fellow veterans and service members every day. The Lord knows we need it.
    *EDIT*
I want to add that I am forever grateful because I know we stood on the shoulders of giants..and this man was one of MANY giants. Lest we forget.

At Parris Island, even the manner of getting one’s food tray at chow had a purpose. The same movement was used when being handed a grenade at the range.

This really brought back memories. I was a very hungover Lcpl at the range at Camp Hanson (or Schwab) Okinawa. Stayed up drinking some concoction they called “mojo”. Still was able to bring it all together and get a score of 244, high expert. Rough morning tho

I have always wondered about those young men KIAs that I left behind. What could they have achieved if they had lived. Our country has gone down hill ever since that war.

What an amazing guy. He would be shocked to see the mess this country is in. His concerns about future presidents have been realized in the person of Joe Biden. As a veteran of 24 years 72-96, I find it hard to believe where we're at. I think about my deceased parents and fellow veterans, that like me find it difficult to see what we're seeing in our country today. Pray for America.

Thank you for your comment and for your service. I agree with everything you wrote. My Veterans are rolling over in their graves with the infiltration of communism, socialism, marxism and every type of other ism that is harmful to this great nation. Many of my stories, especially the World War II generation warned future generations of what was to come. We are now living in the midst of it. It's no coincidence that with the passing of the greatest generation evil and immorality are on a rampage in this country. It would be an honor to meet you someday. Thank you for watching my channel and feel free to share it 🙏
