I'm a retired US Army Airborne infantryman 22 years 87-09 and I served with many senior NCO's who had multiple tours in Vietnam. He reminds me of them myself a combat veteran. I listened and learned so much from these men . Its because of them im alive. I had a few good officers that where Vietnam veterans as well. Most where battlefield commission former NCO's many now including NCO's i wouldn't follow through a puddle. Are nothing but ticket punchers.

Mr. Bromer , I want to thank you for your service to our country. When ever I see a man or woman who has fought for all of us, I stop and let them know how grateful I am. My Dad was a WW11 vet who lived to be 91 years old. Every Veterans Day, he would put on his uniform, in which still fit him!, and we would go to one of his favorite places and walk around. Some people would come up to him and want to shake his hand. It made me so proud to be with him. And he felt respected. He sure enjoyed that time. I thank God he spared his life and he was my Dad. God bless you and your family. I wish I could shake your hand and thank you in person. Again, thank you✝️☮️

We’re here to see how this one man saw this war. In the end this man is a brave individual, he served his country. I hope Mr. Lawrence Bromer doesn’t dwell on the past. I get what you are saying. Back in the bush you were somebody. When you were shot they disrespected you by telling you to work KP. Even in your own company they disrespected you. That's why you preferred to put your life on the line vs being a REMF. Our country should take better care of it's veterans. It might be better now. But 30 years ago I had no respect for the doctors at the VA. To me they were the doctors that no one else wanted and their level of proficiency was so poor l wouldn't recommend anyone going there. A took a friend to see the doctor because he had heart problems and all the doctor did was give him compression stockings so his feet wouldn't swell up. One pair.
