Great video. Every Marine veteran of Vietnam has a unique story. I served with India Co., 3rd Battalion / 4th Marines / 3rd Marine Division in Vietnam from 10 Dec., 1967 to 25 Jan. 1968, ( 46 days in country ) when I was seriously wounded on Rt 9, close to Camp Carroll. Our battalion of 1,200 Marines sustained 88% casualties, 187 killed / 871 wounded, during the 12 months of 1968.

I was a teenager during the war and I had tears for all the men and women who served. Never did I agree with all the protesters. God bless all who serve✝️

You're right when you say that many people don't care about our military personnel, if they are not directly involved, but when someone like myself wants to take the time to hear about your story, we do care, you're a fellow American that fought for my freedoms that I enjoy today, so in that, it affects me directly. So, I want to say to you you sir, welcome home, and thank you for your service and sacrifice. It is because of men like you, that I've never had to see combat the way you have, and for that, I'm eternally grateful, I think it's the least I can do for you so you don't feel that 6ou wasted your time in the military, doing what you had to do. God bless you and your family sir, and Merry Christmas to you.

My father served in the 82nd airborne and I just wanted to say I appreciate your story and sharing that with the world out large, and thank you for your service, I'm ashamed that we treated our service members that way when they came home from Nam.. I wasn't alive yet but still pretty amazing to listen to the story, and hope that we're not repeating it now but it sure seems that way!!!

I really like this man. It’s sad to hear about his family’s opinions about his role in Vietnam when he came home from his service, but this is how technology impacts public opinion. This was the first war that America was involved in that was televised on tv and sound-bytes taken out of context influenced public opinion. We are living through the same thing now with smartphones and public opinion about police brutality.

As painful as these stories are of what these men went through in the war, I think the worst part of the stories are is how shamefully they were treated when they got home. It is heartbreaking what they went though. Welcome home Dave and thanks for your courage and sacrafice.

After about 13 months in-country getting shot at and surviving miserable conditions to come home to that lousy ignorant reaction from protestors is disgusting and shameful. Even veterans of iraq and Afghanistan are in awe with the conditions in Vietnam that Gi's suffered there. Absolutely Viet Vets deserve respect, and to be thanked for their service.

I pray for you sir may you be at rest one day because of the protesters they're like that modern day green people which are brainwashed you did your job never stop being proud of that and you made it home not the home you wanted to come home to but at least you made it out of there and I understand losing buddies 😔 sucks I just missed the second desert Storm due to marijuana usage because I was national guard gave me a general discharge under honorable conditions he was on their Bill Clinton years so they really wasn't no wars so they treat me like I'm not a veteran

I don’t want to pump our country up just because I’m American but compare these soldiers stories to what you here the Taliban or Russians doing during war. The Taliban and Russians literally commit war crimes as a strategy. I think our military has ideals and ethics and while not perfect (no one is) they strive to do the right things even in the fog of war. My brother was in Afghanistan. I salute this vet’s service and all other servicemen and women
