Yeah, it might be perceived as jealousy and envy which I'm sure there is plenty of but I've been the person that unfollowed people who were thriving because it made me genuinely sad about my own life in comparison. Algerian boxer Imane Khelif was born female, was raised female, and is female. She does have a genetic advantage-a high level of testosterone-that has previously led to her being denied entry into some competitions. However, like all other athletes, she complies with the eligibility and registration rules for the competition, as well as all applicable medical rules established by the Paris 2024 Boxing Unit.
This is how sports work. Should we deny tall athletes the chance to play basketball? Besides, it’s not as if she has never been defeated by other women. No one accused her of being trans then.

I did gymnastics in high school. It is my absolute favorite thing in the world. I was never anywhere even close to elite (maybe got to level 7 skills? No giants though). But as much as I love it as as hard as I worked at it, being young and attempting to be competitive it was sometimes hard to know you were going to get your butt beat by the same girls who were AMAZING every meet. And even if you improved, so did they. It just wears you down after a while because while you can love something, reality can stare you in the face to tell you “you will never be good enough, no matter how much you love it”.
So what do you do? It is a hobby, not a career, right? I kept at it, still
Had a blast, and don’t regret a moment or an injury. Even today I try to make sure I never lose some skills that I remember working so hard for!
Looking at it from that perspective and the highly competitive nature of the USA national team, I can sort of get Mykayla. She was very good, but never favored. That has got to be really difficult. And it happens to a lot of girls in that level. It sucks. Then you can look at how the code of points is organized and how it favors the currently style of the US gymnasts and maybe they DON’T have to work as hard? They do have to keep up skills and they MUST be strategic though! So maybe a different way of thinking.
Either way, many of us never make it to the Olympics, Mykayla shouldn’t have said anything. She can have her own opinion and tell her husband. She is also really lucky that she DID get to go and got silver. I am proud of her for that.
Additionally, Simone is VERY good! She made it a career, and that is impressive. But it won’t last forever, and the code will eventually change. So who knows what will happen.
    Man I love this sport

The quality has gone down a bit though. Team USA no longer has to face some of their fiercest rivals in gymnastics which are the Russians because they’re banned from competing. They’ve been consistently on the podium and they took the gold on the last Olympics which they were outstanding in. Their absence has left a void that now other teams like Brazil to take the podium which is unheard of. No dig to the Brazilians who work really hard but let’s face it if the Russians had been allowed to compete that podium would’ve looked a lot different

We don't lose sleep over the opinions of pigeons. What makes them deserving of our time and energy anyway? Why do we care so much about what other people think? Especially pigeons. Like you said, it's exhausting! Isn't doing something for our own sake enough? Aren't we enough? Is being unbothered truly what its all about? They're the chihuahua and we're the great danes. Reacting to their hate means that we're revolving our actions, our precious and time and energy, on them. In a way, we are letting them control us and our emotions. Aren't we better than that? You've always taught us that we are alpha females and as alphas, if we're not taking control of ourselves than who is? Why should we give them that kind of power anyway? Agree with 90% of this video, but towards the end, I don’t think jealousy has to always equate with hate. I was one of those people who unfollowed Shallons insta after a bikini pics because yes I am jealous. But I also love her, watch all of her videos, admire her and watch Shallontourage videos religiously. I just had to clear my social media feed images that make me constantly critique my own body, I do that enough all day every time I look in the mirror. I’m inspired by Shallons transformation and I think she looks fantastic. Anyways, love Shallon and love her content, and also don’t think all of the women who unfollow do so out spite to the person in the picture.

This video makes me wanna rant about something that I've experienced over the last year. I love road cycling. It is my passion, it saved me from my eating disorder (because I finally had something that was more important to me), it is my favourite thing in the world. I go on rides all the time. I have cycled half way across the Europe twice, have placed really well in amateur races, have conquered a proud number of alpine mountains passes. Yeah, I'm proud of all of that and it makes me happy. Some men in my family (not my dad. My dad is the best. He is my biggest cheerleader and loves to brag with me in front of his colleagues) who also do road cycling take it really badly. I get ignored and everything I achieved on the bike gets dismissed or is commented on a way that somehow makes it less. It is so frustrating. When I was younger I always thought it was really cheep to play the jealousy card as an explanation for when people hate on you but sometimes it is the only explanation left because anything else doesn't make any sense. I'm not doing anything! I'm just minding my own business! Can I never mention how well I did on a mountain with a bike ever again because it might hurt someone's ego??

They were just plain and simple jealous losers and it blew my mind because they are all older than 11 and I never thought grown women would collectively stoop to such petty nonsense. Most women don't EVER grow out of the jealous middle school phase and it's pathetic. I'm sorry, but Simones Instagram caption was not as much of an 'own' as people are making it out to be.
Mykayla skinner is an idiot, and her comments were way out of line. Every gymnast works incredibly hard and has huge amounts of talent.
But she was correct in that, without Russia there to try and defend their Tokyo Gold, Team USA gold was not really in doubt. They just had to have Simone do at least 3 events (she did all 4) and just do their job, and the gold was assured. No matter how much Chellsie Memmel claims otherwise, Simone, being a once in a generation athlete, gave USA a comfortable difficulty score cushion against all other teams. With Russia there and without Simone, THAT competiton would have been more of an accurate reflection of the broader standard of USA gymnastics today (still really truly amazing, but much less dominant and consistent than in previous years).

Some conservatives are completely overreacting with respect to the Algerian boxer and spreading so much misinformation.
From what I can gather online, the conservatives lost their argument when they switched their definition of women to suit them. I’ve seen them cite female anatomy and how you were born as how your sex is defined. In this case, the Algerian boxer was born female. The Algerian boxer just experienced defects in her sexual development that meant she developed masculine traits, the Y chromosome (which usually develops later) and higher testosterone. She is definitely a woman but has some abnormalities with her sexual development which assist her in the pursuit of boxing.
One thing I love about Shallon is that she introduced me to both formal and informal fallacies, and two of those that are employed by the conservatives are the shifting the goal posts and the burden of proof fallacies. I don’t find it surprising that those conservatives who originally qualified women by their anatomy are now redefining women by their X or Y chromosomes or testosterone levels when it benefits their narrative. Quite frankly, it makes me look at their logic as flawed and inconsistent, because there are a minority of women (who are not trans) that suffer deficiencies in their biology like this. Does that mean she’s not female though? No, not at all. That’s like saying that women with naturally higher testosterone or abnormally broad shoulders are not women. It should be borne in mind that the Y chromosome develops late in men which means that there can be borderline cases where the chromosome develops in women. As such, is chromosomes enough to qualify someone as one sex or the other in scientific terms? Just some questions to ponder.
And to quote Shallon, get curious not furious. Let’s discuss where that line is!

One of my mother's friends used to snipe at me. It started on the night my mother took me out on my 18th birthday with her friends and my older sister for my first legal drink (uk).
My mother and her oldest friend would have been 45 at the time I was 18 and she looked me up and down as i stood there in my black tailored shorts (it was 2003), tank top and high heels- I looked a vision of long legs, tiny waist and big boobs, at 18 I was basically like a happy bouncy ball of sunshine and cleavage WELL THE 45 YEAR OLD HATER FRIEND OF MY MOTHER said in front of everyone-
"YOU dont call her 'mam' or we'll never get in anywhere! It wasnt my idea of fun having YOU here!"
This was after she'd looked me up and down with a look that was like she had the stink of shit under her nose.
I didnt even need my mother, the rest of the group or mu older sister to step in, i was 18 and ready to go!
I was taller than her in barefoot never mind in my heels and said
"You've had a face like slapped tw*t since you arrived, so stop ruining my birthday" I put the most sarcastic smile on and said "thank you"
I have never liked this woman and I wasnt starting adulthood by kissing her bitter old backside either

The Algerian boxer was born FEMALE. She has female DNA, she’s a biological female. She does have a hormonal disorder causing her to have higher testosterone levels than the average woman. I agree 100% women should compete against women, but calling someone a transgender because of a natural difference in hormone levels is so so dangerous. Are we saying women with PCOS for example are not women bc they have higher testosterone levels?

what do you do if you are a hater? When you get burned by an apex predator - is learning and finding your authenticity a good thing to do? As well as - recognizing the haters in your life?

Is it also possible that some of those hundred followers are also in a journey of their own where comparing themselves and the highs and lows of their lives to someone's highlights is not so good for them ? It might not be hate, Shal. Just people knowing they need to focus more on themselves right now. They might be applying the exact advices you give in this video by unfollowing you:)
I have times where I can't stand to look at some people's Insta and others where I love to see others thriving ✨
    - just to offer some perspective:)

MyKayla called the ENTIRE gymnastics community lazy. In her apology she said not the USA Olympic team, but every gymnast in the world who didn’t have the same coach as her is lazy. Insults thousands of gymnasts and thinks only Simone supporters have an issue with what she said🤦🏽‍♀️😠😠😠
