Hi Ash. In my opinion i don't think the Exhaust gas cooler is leaking its more just like condensation from being blocked and no flow through the EGR valve. Is the cooling system loosing coolant.? Also check the exhaust flap valve operated by the vacuum diaphragm arm that is located before the exhaust gas cooler, the flap valve seizes up. Gary

      Hi Gary
The cooler didn’t look in great shape
The little vacuum controlled arm was sticking a bit. So I thought while it’s all in bits I’ll just change it to be in the safe side.

Couldn't the EGR valve be cleaned instead of replacing?
As far as I know, the EGR cooler is impossible to clean (and yours is also broken), but the valve itself should be fine after a thorough cleaning.

I could have tried to clean the EGR out but the valve was seized pretty good. I didn’t want to risk doing the job twice so just put a new one on.
