Hey all just hoping to clear up something about this clay we're working: As far as we know from some testing done with the 4 inch dredge, and a geologist's report of the section of stream we're on, this is deep deep clay. We're talking 50 feet plus on the graph of subsurface densities. So it's thought that this is a fault line where rocks and clay are being pushed up to the surface (gouge material), and the gold is washing down in the stream and getting stuck. Next season we'll try blasting through some of it and testing more to see if there is gold deeper in the clay, or if it is truly barren.
Probably nothing more enjoyable than drawing gravel through a dredge nozzle, I absolutely love thee nice clear under water footage. What a rich little creek you’re on, EPIC!!
Hope you got some gold mining to do in your off season. Somewhere warm. Otherwise i'm going to go NUTS waiting for next season:) Yee_Haa!!! Great video! Beautiful golden smile. As always; Looking forward.
We aren’t sure if we can get outside of alaska to do any mining this winter. I am headed to San Antonio in November but from what I can see the gold scene in that area doesn’t actually exist. If you have any good ideas we are open to suggestions
@@richardbeee we might just have to check out that friend of yours place. This past winter was nearly unbearable waiting for spring. We are still waiting!
Still looking 👀 for the "Blaster Nozzle".. The pump probably has a port on the side for a garden hose that you can put a adjustable Nozzle on to BLAST away at the material. 🤔🤠🌵⛏
We have that on the motor that doesn’t run the compressor. Just haven’t seen much use for it here since the gouge layer seems to be bottomless we just haven’t had much use for it. We haven’t gotten through to bedrock in this location I think I personally have gone about 8-12” deep into the gouge in one spot. If the gouge is coming through a fault line then I’m not sure gold would be dispersed through it. At least that has been our reasoning so far.
Awesome man. We got snow in the interior of Ak already. It warmed up rained snow pretty much gone & now it’s 32f during day BRRRR. I would dredge if I had a spot to dredge. Next year maybe 👍🏻
Sorry for the late response. We appreciate the support and hope you enjoy. Half of our two man team is headed to Vancouver island next month for a honeymoon but may have to see if there is any Canadian au
I wonder were thats a fault line is it possible that gold is riding up the fault line,or perhaps there could be a deep quartz vein leaching into the fault line then being pushed up? Im no geologist just wondering if that is at all possible. great video!
Nice!! I'm glad to see you guys got on the gold. Now you know where is at for next spring.. like you said!! I'm planning on moving to Alaska, maybe by next spring. I'm looking for some land around the Valdez area. What part of Alaska are you living in? Hopefully we'll be able to take a few dredging trips together next year. I have a few locations picked out, after alot of research where i know there's gold in the area. Thanks for sharing this video!!!
Arrr, fantastic stuff you guys .cold at this time of the year. I normally take 2 under suits to change when having a bite to eat .love the footage ,well bloody done .it ain't easy my friend's, butt its worth it .
Nice going guys that clay layer is definitely where it’s at 6grams on first run is great 👍 wish we had that in Iowa we’re lucky to get a half of a gram when dredging glacial material ⛏⛏⛏ liked your guys channel great content and underwater footage is great 👍 just joined your channel great job can’t wait to see your next one ☝️ take care
Have you ever checked into and under they clay layers from my experience gold will work into the clay and become stuck. I just think you maybe missing very very large gold in the clay and maybe even under that layer. Clay Is extremely hard to work but usually is worth the extra work. Not to mention all the beauty rocks/ semi precious gems that you would find. Do a quick search of the gems and other rocks I your area/ claim. Could turn into a side business or extra funding for your mining. Simple tile saw dremal with diamond bits and some 1000-3000 wet sand paper and a rock tumbler. You could make some very cool stuff for using the "overburden". I saw a few rocks I would buy from you just in raw form. Just an Idea
Thanks. We have definitely been finding some really strange material within the fault gouge. I spend some time dredging one day by myself but we would need to run a test where we clean the overburden off then do a cleanup of the dredge to get any gold out that may have been in that overburden then spend a stretch just using the blaster and nozzle to dredge the gouge. Maybe worth a test next spring.
A cheap at home acid testing kit revealed it was somewhere around 20 karat. But we do see a variety of gold too, some very old and worn/stained, some bright yellow and crystalized with quartz still in it.
Hmmm. Are you talking about the video that you are commenting on ? Or a previous video of us up stream ? Either way we will be posting an explanation of the material we are working on now. The white fault gouge we are working in now is not on an accessible section of bedrock. The bedrock in our previous videos was broken up to a reasonable degree where we felt like it was very unlikely that the gold would have been down below. We typically would stop breaking off the bedrock after a foot or so. Let us know what you think.
Guys I don't want to knock the work you all did but you watch your vid and you will see how your washing away your gold , wash was to fast on the smooth along with steep it is washing down , sorry man. Should be easy to locate now you know were to go.
Clinton, ahh sorry about the late response. First off we want to say thanks for watching and subscribing if you do. Second we agree it’s definitely possible that we blow out some of the fine gold. Our hope of course is that we don’t. On our first trip of the new season (and every time after) our plan is to make sure our mats are reassembled in the sluice before we run the cleanup through our letrap drop sluice. That will prevent and gold that does escape the letrap from getting back to the creek. After we do that we may discover that we have been losing gold and that would lead us to consider like you said just dredging from beginning again. Thanks again and heavy pans to you.
Hahaha well we typically have the labor covered with one guy tending the dredge and one guy under water. Hard to say if the highbanker is really worth working up there. We will keep you in mind though for next season.

Test test test...That clay will be hard to break up fine enough for the gold to loosen before hitting the sluice box🤔..thoughts?

If the clay layer is really deep you probably only see gold on top. Always good to test things though.
Well this answers my question😁was wondering about amber the top layer of that clay grabbing gold and it settling into it.....clay grabs gold fer sure👍
Yeah from what we have seen there is no end to the layer. More will be revealed this summer.
