There is an old saying amongst the Benz "community" : "The cheapest Mercedes you buy is the most expensive Mercedes you buy". You have confirmed it {twice}.
That "B" Service exceeded by 24,700 miles would scare the hell out of me. 150,000 miles on a quality NA engine is doable with proper maintenance. A turbo engine with lax maintenance is a ticking bomb. I certainly hope you've got deep pockets for the repairs needed to bring this beast back from the brink.
Cheapest S65 from 2005 (84k miles) in Germany is 25k Euro. So yeah you got an insane deal. But maybe its totally fucked technically. Dont know how much it costs in the USA to fix a Merc. But I can easily imagine you will pay 20-30k just to bring it up to standard again. But even then you will have a fantastic car for 35k.
20-30k to fix?? Bro a whole 722.6 and M275 Engine with the turbos cost 10k with installation. Great new channel MM! Caught my eye because I've had a few S class and an SL600. Realistically, (without service and repairs) the cost of driving this car to the previous owner was under $1400 per month. Not bad for the luxury, handling at high speed in the rain, and security if you drive a great deal. You are correct in saying that these are not cars for people with cash flow issues as EVERYTHING is expensive and they all eventually have serious air suspension/strut issues that may be more to fix than the vehicle is worth. I'm not sure about the value of an S65 because you really can't drive that fast in the US. I had an S55 AMG that I had shipped to Europe and it was plenty fast enough.
@@BialyOrzel777 Depreciation. The original owner lost about $180K on the cost of the car over 11 years from new, which works out at approximately $1400/mo. That's without fuel, servicing, insurance, etc.

The car is now @38000 miles and sleeping in the garage during winter. No issues what so ever (knock on wood) with the electronics or dampers, no malfunctions, no nothing! All in all, it's a great car!!!!! Take care of it and it will take care of you! Sure it's expensive to maintain, insurance and to fill up (It drinks a lot), but the joy and smile it brings!!!
I own the exact same car, a 2006 AMG S65. I paid $22,000, and financed it, so I am still making payments. It had 103K miles. Lots of issues, and as we speak it's at the mechanic's dealing with transmission problems. I have always loved this body style and had an S430 previously. In the 2 plus years I have had it, I have spent about $4000 so far keeping it running. That does not include what I expect to pay for the transmission repair. I now have about 136K miles on it. You just need an honest, reliable and more importantly not greedy mechanic. After all, you would never be able to afford a V12 Merc in your life time anyway if you were scared this and that! Ultimately, it must be the love and interest that make a purchase fulfilling.
Just started the video but dude I bought an 07 at a dealer auction on a whim for 20k knowing the roof didn’t work, it’s actually going really well so far though, but I did have to tune her up after two months of driving, 4K, she’s great now but I’m paying another 5k for the replacement roof from the dealership
These older Amgs are everywhere for low prices it's sad but cool.. every guy on RUclips has the cheapest AMG lol I'll be kind of glad when this trend is over honestly..
Can't find the less than the low 20s.who buys at 200k and dumps at 5k?unheard of and the miles aren't even too high.maybe a crashed car with blown turbos.
Yeah, always back it into a parking space, easier to tow. Hope you have AAA Premium service for cheap towing too. I'd try to flip-it quickly for a profit instead of dumping a lot of money into it. Most people I know, lease new Mercedes or BMW vehicles as a business right-off expense. Don't know anyone that keeps them around long past the warranty period, they are maintenance money pits.
3750 for a rare AF S65 AMG? Are you kidding me? Even if you spend 10000 usd on this car you just won yourself a 180000 usd car. Congrats dude. The car needs TLC then it's gonna be perfect.
The best value people can get out of this very affordable but very high status luxury used car is not to use it for daily drive as the maintenance and repair costs is a money pit. Instead, treat this car as a piece of art by parking it on the driveway to impress the neighbors, visiting friends, and relatives which would provide much better value for the money paid for this car.
lol... Who the f would care if the car has a clean title - when the car is broken 10 times over. Has been in accidents. Has got multiple dings scratches and a messed up leather interior.

Lucky Marwat lexus or toyota = same thing so he's right
Gonna drag the car and can't tell the difference between a Maxima and a Lexus...
Jaybee l fuck Lexus
There's a 2006 S65 AMG on ebay in the UK with over 200 thousand miles, it's a one owner car
Madd Max, good channel so far. But I have a question, WHERE is the M3?
+TheNastyboypro it's actually sold, need to get the final video up and do video on the next car.
You just need an honest, reliable and more importantly not greedy mechanic.
After all, you would never be able to afford a V12 Merc in your life time anyway if you were scared this and that!
Ultimately, it must be the love and interest that make a purchase fulfilling.
I've had two W220S. When they are good they are GREAT but when they're bad they're HORRIBLE
I wish Mercedes were reliable like Lexus, I really like so many of their cars but the repair stories are insane.
Lukas it depends on the model, you might find that one of the models you really like is reliable.
Lukas I
Lukas you don't know what you talking about
I would never buy that car
I have 2001 e430 with 275000 miles and drives better then most new cars parts are pretty cheap
rob ferittei ??
U don't have to hold in the ignition just press and leave
Did the owner forgot to take of the license plate?
+bas9840 nope, that's mine, I put it on so AAA can take it.
These older Amgs are everywhere for low prices it's sad but cool.. every guy on RUclips has the cheapest AMG lol I'll be kind of glad when this trend is over honestly..
is it for sale?
+Greek Boi yes it is. Was planning on fixing it but if I get the right number beforehand i will.
Those v12s...I've heard that not ONE has ever failed so you're quite safe with it.
nice car its October can i buy it from you?
I’d buy it. Currently looking to trade my S430 for a S600 or S65
Thomas Libonati trading my s500 for the s55
Rosalio Quezada how are you doing that?
Is that a carbon fiber engine cover? Sweet
Can't find the less than the low 20s.who buys at 200k and dumps at 5k?unheard of and the miles aren't even too high.maybe a crashed car with blown turbos.
+Jon Murdock clean title. Editing new video tonight, it runs and drives.
a new replacement engine will cost 75000,- in parts this is worth easy the money you paid for
Yeah, always back it into a parking space, easier to tow.
+moonlighter6 LMAO, truth.
It's actually not terrible when you break it down. $1,000/mth. Try leasing an S65 now - it will be $3k or more per month, easily.
In Your Case,
Something Is ProbablY Wrong With The Battery.
Almost Anything Thats Wrong Is Associated Has To Do With The Battery in the car
You made a good decision because even though you have to fix it it's still a good project to start on
Updates or naw
+Pete P coming soon.
Madd Max cooleroonis and cheese
U paid 3,750 for a v12 monster that produces 740 pounds of torque ... U found yourself a diamond in the rough!!! Now sell it to me lol
lol... Who the f would care if the car has a clean title - when the car is broken 10 times over. Has been in accidents. Has got multiple dings scratches and a messed up leather interior.
His car is for sale on eBay for $14,000

+PhillyDj Hook putting out a quickie in a few.
Doug is the kinda guy to borrow somebodies car and make a RUclips video about it pointing out the quirks and features and finall... Oh wrong channel... Sorry my bad!
This guy looks totally out of place in that car.
4:15 is when you see the car
lovely Car! I know I can't afford to run it and I think a Money Pit.i keep to my BMW Compact Coupe 3,1.8ti 39 mpg. I respect you for going for a AMG. Nice Video
definately worth fixing. it got potential
I'm such a huge fan of this car no matter what the year is this model is always sick as hell what a bad ass! I daily drive a C63 AMG 2009 which I love more than a human child itself and I'm so proud of driving that car honestly man props you forgetting an S65 AMG what up boss. Be sure to check out eurocharged and their tunes and work with AMG models they really are the top guys they're always available for questions as well. If I were you I would definitely check out getting a bigger intercooler because that's one of the main issues with those V12 AMG is Cooling. Good luck man I'm about to sub to your Channel right now just because of this specifically just found it
