04dram04 i've often thought about that myself. As-equipped, my W220 S500 is basically the S600 without the V12 (which I am thankful for every time I pass the state police and gas pumps). If you wanted to similarly spec a W222, you would be out ~$150k. In the end that is loose change to the original buyers of these cars, with the exception of perhaps Warren Buffett, who is renown for his thrift even if he is a Forbes list billionaire.
Eman 08 to come to the "endless" conclusion you must have had or known someone who had a neglected car picked up for pennies on the dollar with the expectation that oil changes and tires were the only thing they were going to have to do to the car. That's called bad research and unrealistic expectations and it is not the fault of Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi or whichever German manufacturer you were talking about. German cars are very reliable if maintained but you have to do the homework and have the maintenance budget planned out. If you do this you will end up with a product far superior to even most brand-new cars out there today save for the newest generation of said German cars.
Forrest Scott Brinkley They still fall apart regardless how well you maintain them. they are notorious for electrical problems with all the crazy computer control modules to operate every petty feature on the car. There is like at least 90 computer control modules in a Mercedes all equally expensive as the parts. Good luck replacing those when they all go wrong one by one costing a small fortune. Like said above they don't hold their value as they depreciate like falling rocks. They have the worst resale value than non European manufacturers. You loose soo much money in depreciation and parts costing as much as the car as it gets old which is why they are well known Endless Money Pit Machines. And many of them use cheap plastic parts esp the water pump as they break quite often.
Eman 08 Depreciation should only worry one if he/she is going to sell...I am not...ever. You must be referring to the BMW cheap plastic water pumps...mine is cast metal and belt-driven. Furthermore I have never seen or heard of one of these cars falling apart other than in the Rust Belt states but even Toyotas and Hondas succumb to road salt up there. I have also not had a single problem with any computer or electrical system in my car. Most of my maintenance costs have been related to ABC, but I rationalize that as a small price to pay for a ride quality that rivals most Rolls-Royce products. Finally, I wonder if your "money pit" mantra applies to Ferraris, as one has to fork out ~$50k for an engine out "tuneup" on some of those. Yet I don't hear people complain about Ferrari, because it's a Ferrari! The same thing goes for these cars, which are top of their class when they are released.
@@annainveen1029 maybe to rich assholes to you fuel costs mean nothing, but to actual people who have long drives to and from work, fuel efficiency is extremely important

Only maintenance I've done was timing/water pump, belt, brake pads and rotors, new tires, spark plugs (all of those were done a week after I bought the car), couple batteries, light bulbs, the usual oil changes and filters. and I work on my own cars to save on cost. Everything else is all untouched original. I love this thing. Drives like a dream....
J Silver Good luck. A friend and former colleague used to have one of those things... until he went to a Lexus dealer and was told the multi zone climate control would cost five grand to fix. So much for cheap Lexus maintenance/repairs.
Forrest Scott Brinkley The fuck? Good luck for what? That could've been any car. Parts and labor especially from the dealer are super expensive, no matter what car brand. Besides, you didn't say what year model, so I guess it's a newer year model. I work on my own cars, so I save on labor and he (your friend) could just buy one used. I spent almost 2 grand after I bought my 01. After that I never had a problem with any electrical parts that could or would go wrong in almost any new model (yet). Good luck to your friend though. Quick question, why don't you do your own mechanical work? It would certainly make your cost of ownership much lower, plus wrenching is super fun! You have a garage, buy some tools and turn those wrenches!
I do some of my own work, but I GLADLY paid professionals $1500 to do this for me, properly. By the time I bought all the equipment and tools to get this job done, I probably would have spent a similar amount.
I guess for this job it made sense, especially since it was only $1500 for something pretty major. But some smaller stuff is crazy overpriced, like paying hundreds to swap a radiator which can be swapped by just about anybody. My 2000 540i Touring had a radiator go bad, so I bought a good, OEM-quality radiator for less than $200 and had it swapped in after about an hour of work. Ultimately it depends on your budget and how you value your time. I literally don't have the money to pay a mechanic to fix my cars- I usually have enough to buy a sub-$5000 car and that's it. So I DIY out of necessity, whether I want to or not. My X5 4.6 was $3500 because it needed an engine rebuild, so I did the rebuild myself for about $800 in parts. Now it's pretty reliable at less than $5000 all in. I'm like the micro-budget version of Hoovie's Garage haha, I've never paid over $7000 for any car.
Ah, gotcha. I still want an S600 from the previous W220 generation. That's my favorite S-Class generation. I had an S500 for a while and it was awesome.

TheJ602 fuck you mean😂 14k for a car that is pretty much off to the scrap yard because after you use it nobody will buy a 150k mile v12 Mercedes from you.
roloxrox123 yes people will buy it. because i better have this merc than a 2016 toyota, nissan or an American car. this mercedes has it all and does it better.
+roloxrox - Keep it for 30 years - and it will be worth 10 times as much again. In addition, even in 10 years from now the car will still be a better and more comfortable drive than 99,9999998% of the new cars on the market.
New car vs 10 yr old car thats common sense. New car every time. As far as reliability and cost and holding its value toyota beats out anyone of them. American cars don't even count lol
FicoBezKocnicaBL Please a Toyota??? Funny cause Honda and Toyota drivers are always coming to look at my car yet no one looks at their ugly no style grandma cars.
What I love about your videos to this day is how you prove there is still a lot of life left in these cars. Too many people buy these high end cars that can afford the payments, but not the repairs or maintenance. Here you are more or less bringing one back to life and letting some sucker that didn't lease take all the hits. Well done. Rule of thumb. Don't buy anything new if you can't afford to keep it maintained; be it a Kia or a Benz. There are plenty of nice cars out there that will get you around stupid cheap if you can do your own work, or simply recycle running used cars.
I got my 1st S Class back in 2005. it was a 2001 S550s with 68k miles. I also got a good deal because none of the air operating functions of the car would not work. ie ( suspension systems, power locks, windows, body leveling system and the soft close doors.) I purchased a $700 air pump from Mercedes-Benz. took me less than 15 minutes to install it into the truck. which fixed all the problems. I traded that car in in 2012 for a brand new CLS 550. 157000 miles on it in the time I had it. during that time nothing broke and the only work I did was routine maintenance. the best part of all was I traded it in for $8,000 more than I paid for it including the price of the pump. what I've learned from this experience is yes it cost alot to fix a Mercedes if you take it to the dealership. but these cars are made very well and they're extremely reliable. they're also designed to be easily fixed. if you have access to the internet and some basic tools you can do much of the work yourself. and your cost of ownership will be lower than just about any car on the market.
As a former Mercedes owner I can say with authority that the problem with Mercedes is that they over engineer everything which inevitably fail triggering great cost. An example is thr charcoal filter when fueling up. Totally unnecessary! Love the cars but without a good independent shop to service, i cant buy another.
Jason Debly - that's over-designing, not over-engineering. The latter is adding belt and braces when one would've been just fine. By other brand-standards, that is.
When you made the JB Weld comment at 2:08 I literally got up from my computer and walked around the house laughing hysterically for almost a full minute.
2001 E55 MErc AMG bought for $5000. Put almost $11,000. into it. Labor will kill you when it comes to Mercedes but parts are pretty easy to find online.Probably wouldve spent less had I known anything about Mercedes cars and parts previously.
This is the first video I've seen from Hoovie. I can remember thinking "young, rich douchebag showing off" . But then I learn that Merc was broken so it made me little bit happier. Then I watched some more of his videos and I realized that he is mad but cool mad. I liked it. So I sold my reliable BMW E46 3.0 XD and bought Audi Allroad 2.7 biturbo. Now I'm on the verge of being broke but I'm oddly happy. I thought my wife knows her way around my wallet but she got nothing compared to my car! This is a blood bath... Airmatic suspension will send any brave man to his kneels. I couldn't take it no more so I swapped it for coilovers. Much better, I will never see that suspension light again!
iwilleatyopussy Shit, bruh. I live in California. And let me tell you, as a guy who not only sees car as tools, but understands the intricacies of some of their exact purposes. Cars are investments. Some of these are not very wise investments. Mercedes being one of them. I believe they're overpriced by about 800%. Now if one lived in a Metropolis, such as, New York, then, a car would be utterly useless. An investment in nothing but pure bollocks. A waste of time and resources. Unless it provided a specific service. Like an ambulance.
+Cloudsley Falconbridge - Overpriced by about 800%? Considering how Mercedes is one of the manufacturers in the world that has the highest sales numbers in this luxury car segment, how can you say it´s overpriced?
Vladimir Schmekelstein Because Vlad. As nice as they are, most of what you're paying for is the badge. For status. Basically, all a car can be, is something that you drive around. First and foremost. The creature comforts that you get with exclusive brands are nothing more than gadgets that you can brag to your friends about. It's not just cars, but houses too. And movies. And utilities. And clothes. However, like I said in my first post, quite possibly, the best investment ever. I see that it's a Benz, and the price he paid, being as pragmatic as i am, can only admit that he got it at a 1-in-a-million price.

Feb 2022 : Wow, 5 years ago. This was the 1st Hoovie video that I watched back at that time. How time flies. Great to see how things have progressed. Though I miss the cheap proper "hoopties" and silly stunts with them. But there are so many channels doing that stuff now, the "exotic + Car Wizard workshop" is the USP these days.
Problem is they're all computerized with esoteric spare parts. The original owner of this car tried doing a bit of DIY repair on the engine, and that ended up busting it & bringing his car's value down to $4,500.
I just bought a 17 year old e39 that looks like it just rolled out of the assembly line. For 3 grand! Similar size cars in that price, Grand prix, mustang, maybe a beat up 06 charger. The domestics don't even compare. The minute I got in the car I though to myself "ive been driving shit my whole life."
A friend of mine in China had one of these. I took a long road trip in it with him back in 2009. He paid 3 million Renminbi for it, or about half a million US dollars.
Dude, great buy and great project. I buy cars with blown engines and fix them then sell them but never thought of purchasing a Mercedes with a blown engine, I might try it. If you sell the silver elephant you'll definitely get a huge profit out of it. Good job keep up the good work👍🏼 I just subscribed.
Dont worry I've hit 300.000 km on my 1.6 TDI volkswagen polo ecu modded to 140 bhp without any issues. Just make sure to let it heat up properly, put in the best oil and change more frequently.
SaLAD why wouldnt it be comparable? Mine went from 90 to 140 bhp wich is by percentage a way bigger increase. Also the engine is smaller so the time the extra power will be used is way more common.
ixyzyxi yes but your car is designed more simply and is designed to last longer where as an s class is extremely complex and really only made to last the first owner
Peter Smithonian I paid twice as much for my shitty box compared to what he paid for his s500. Also it's german and better than 99% of american cars regarding the enviroment. Luckely I dont have a small dick so I dont mind driving my shitbox.
Great presentation with great humor. This turned out to be a good deal, especially if one knows what needs to be fixed and how to get it done. This also proves that even a Mercedes is not without its on problems.
Nice buy, thats so cool; i'd love an S Class but i'd rarely have anyone in the rear seat. My C63 has been so reliable, ive had it just under a year and not had one issue so far !! Touch wood.
After seeing this video I love my 9th gen v6 honda accord. Not even single penny spent on repair for last 88000 miles..Do not forget the time how much he spent to research and find parts.
In Germany they buy 10 years old audi A8 With 200,000 km no problem cous they do the required maintenance , it will last runing good for long time. Here in America I would not take a 2 year old Audi A8 for free couse most people lease them And don't give a shit , that's why they break down and become money pit
just goes to show that expensive euro cars have the same issues as the so called cheap American or japanese cars and repairs are twice as much. it's obvious that the original cooling fan quit fan and roasted the engine. so with all the super high technology in this car, where is the failsafe to derate then shut down the engine when it overheats or other life threatening issues.. $4500 as far as I'm concerned is dirt cheap for that motor, let alone finding one. good for him. he's got so little into this car even after all he spent on it,it's a great deal. don't think I'd crank the power up anymore than it is . maintain some reliability, transmission is next. Nice car.
Yeah sure, put a "fail safe" thingy to shut down the engine if it starts overheating. I can't imagine the size of the lawsuit against the manufacturer if an engine goes to "fail safe" mode and shuts down while the car is running, conveniently, in a highway or intersection, or even at a red light. Or what about "I was taking little Brittany to the hospital because she had a severe allergic reaction and the car went into fail safe mode and she almost died", yeah, no problem miss we'll give you a couple hundred million dollars and take a hit on our image. And before you tell me that if the engine overheats for a while it will eventually shut off by itself or the radiator hoses will blow through the air in a hell of a cloud of steam, in that case it's the operator's fault for not reading the cluster or reading it and not stopping at all, so the manufacturer is off the hook there.
+bass trammel yes. sorta of how 1.5 million is reasonable money for a nice house. but some people would be unwise to purchase nice cars or nice houses.
Justin Crediblename i know you are right and totally agree with but some people have different choices which make life different and colorful to others.
Even if someone did a bad repair job (on these new damned plastic radiator tanks,) WHY the hell didn't the driver either check the Temp gauge or - more importantly - why didn't the CAR flash a red light at him, or send a flashing message to the LCD, or chastise him through the audio system with a stern Teutonic voice?!?
Interesting. I keep telling myself I will buy an S one day, but I'm addicted to the diesels. A lot of MB models are not sold in the USA. It is really a short serving of the product line.
If you listen closely, you can still hear it depreciating in value.

Jackpody so ... how deep does it go? :-)

Maintaining a mercedes is a real bitch.
My dad drove his 1999 E-class for 15 years with expensive ass maintainence and finally sold it for $1000.
greentealatte or buy a volvo and drive 1 million km without breaking down and a lot of service costs.
Maintaining an OLD Mercedes is a real bitch.*
It's actually the opposite. Maintaining a Mercedes newer than the 80s is a bitch. Maintaining an old Mercedes is a breeze
I drove my 1994 C280 for 14 years before finally selling it last year. Great car for the most part. I did most of the maintenance myself though.
LOL HAHA
A v12 for less then a new camry
robert hildebrand or an accord
What says it all is the JB Weld fix on the radiator. The owner had allocated precisely Zero dollars to maintenance and just wanted out.
there's a 1988 bmw 7 series v12 for 2800 euros for sale in my country lol
Repairs would exceed the cost of a new Camry in a few years time hahaha
Ironic...
"Probably break it...because I'm an idiot."
Famous last words.

You're like a young Doug Demuro
Allen Marks Thanks, but I'm 2 years older than Doug haha!
Wow man you look great for your age!
Or maybe Doug just looks really old for his age..Lol
Allen Marks I think Doug looks old
Allen Marks he wanna be lol
except not funny or at all interesting.
Am I the only one getting triggered by his steering?
CR7GB11 no haha
CR7GB11 ABSOLUTELY TRIGGERED BY HIS STEERING...... 👴🔫⚰
I'm being triggered by his personality in general.
Its like in old movies :D
CR7GB11 I am.
This is that video that made me find out about your channel when it was released! Man it has been so long already xD
I got my 1st S Class back in 2005. it was a 2001 S550s with 68k miles. I also got a good deal because none of the air operating functions of the car would not work. ie ( suspension systems, power locks, windows, body leveling system and the soft close doors.)
I purchased a $700 air pump from Mercedes-Benz. took me less than 15 minutes to install it into the truck. which fixed all the problems.
Yes. Mercedes get a bad rep due to its less reliable euro brother BMW and Audi.
As a former Mercedes owner I can say with authority that the problem with Mercedes is that they over engineer everything which inevitably fail triggering great cost. An example is thr charcoal filter when fueling up. Totally unnecessary!
Love the cars but without a good independent shop to service, i cant buy another.
Very true. Only reason I own a benz is because I work on it myself. I save a lot of $$$$
Jason Debly yup inless your rich n stupid never take your car to benz dealership
Lol, Mercedes are cheap to keep as long as u live on the right continent. (E U R O P E, dem Benzos arent made for murikans)
I would respectfully submit that they over-REACH on all these goodies, but do NOT over-engineer them... If they did, then they wouldn't break.
Jason Debly - that's over-designing, not over-engineering. The latter is adding belt and braces when one would've been just fine. By other brand-standards, that is.
thanks for falling down in the Mercedes showroom. that took nads.
sdanville 😂 😂 😂 he hit the floor.
sdanville it takes nads for you to say "nads"
The S600 is and it stays an icon on the roads. I would like to get one for only 15k.
The_Touring Jedi try auto list or Auto trader, I've found some for under 6K
W221 as a whole is an icon, wouldn't mind driving any of the engine types.
When you made the JB Weld comment at 2:08 I literally got up from my computer and walked around the house laughing hysterically for almost a full minute.
johnmohanmusic Damn your lifes that boring? lmao ffs.
"The knob is cool meaning it goes a lot deeper" definitely something new lol
"Fast and vigorous, please!"
Not a bad price, I'd just add on a sexy set of amg rims and be very happy :)
classy mod, I hate it when people throw on stupid spinners/chrome wagon wheels
Prince Broly I would update it with facelift AMG parts and a Exhaust system.
***** Yea it's a S600 After all, but S65 is loud.
Prince Broly maybe a wrap with black accents too ;)
Dammit broly you're a woman now
Sure do have a lot of jealous haters lol I think you did a fine job with the car what a dream machine
2001 E55 MErc AMG bought for $5000. Put almost $11,000. into it. Labor will kill you when it comes to Mercedes but parts are pretty easy to find online.Probably wouldve spent less had I known anything about Mercedes cars and parts previously.
Or if you bought a new benz with a warranty, instead of a 16 year old car.... the labor won't kill you.
lookitskirby that car was $90,000 brand new 16 years ago. You do the math
is it a v8
lookitskirby Yeah, E55 AMG .. almost 360 HP
online-parts...youre talking about 3rd party aftermarket parts from unknown origin?
pro Detail for $75....I'm going to question the "pro" aspect of that detail.
bulk discount. He charges double for it retail. Labor is cheaper in Kansas
hahaha I live in Los Angeles so ANYTHING for a car less than $100 makes me skeptical ;) Great videos man...lovin your stuff!
Matt Whitmire the seats don't come out. and the underside doesn't get done.
Matt Whitmire I can detail a car better than a pro, think I should get my side hustle on.
$75 is BS. It's what gives it it's final touch...
Nevermind the original MSRP...what was your cost compared to a used one in good condition?
Saved about $5000
This is the first video I've seen from Hoovie.
Best investment ever, probably.
Cloudsley Falconbridge wrong lol
roloxrox123 I said, probably. No denying it though, quite a steal, all things considered.
iwilleatyopussy Shit, bruh.
Binge watching your videos- new Doug Demero here 😂😂
I wonder where I can read their articles...
***** Doug Demuro + Dodge Viper => Doug Viper => Voug Diper
It's gorgeous and with humongous presence.
Chima Chinda what's up i like MercdesBenz car's some day i we'll have one! X15015632829 have a nice weekand!
smells like a Maybach. same chassis.
Expensive radiator and way too much for the windshield - unless its a heated one. Else from that you went the right path there.
Chima Chinda
and im ugly with a humongous presence
this is the first video i ever watched of yours about 5years ago glad to see you grew a lot and are still making videos keep up the great work hoovies hope you have lots of success
Good video. Love to see these older high end cars brought back to being road worthy. All for less than a new base level Civic.
goodgollyjosh but the civic value would be higher after 15 years ....ask me how
goodgollyjosh I know right, it's a way better car too
Cool that you did this, means there's one more S600 on the road that would potentially have otherwise been scrapped/broken.
"always leave one thing broken, because once you fix it, then the next thing will break".
ahahah you made my day
sometimes you just have to rewatch this. It show's how far Tyler has come in his Car-YT-career. its like nearly 6 years ago, when i last watched this video. Was great to watch it again, seeing all the little details he put into the video at the time. The fainting at Mercedes was epic😂 Thank you for your years, and it's always great to see a car from my hometown Sindelfingen in Germany! freundliche Grüße aus Deutschland!😃🇩🇪❤
would love to visit Kansas btw... :D
congrats... you kept that beauty out of the junkyard and have an amazing ride
I thought this video was one of those old youtube videos... Turns out to be a 2017 video..
What?? Lmao the quality is fucking terrible.
Trvp Game
Thats what Im saying you dumb fuck. Its 2017 and I have to deal with this shit.
Authentic Max fucking idiot, I was agreeing with you... I read the "Turns out to be a 2017 video" and my comment was my reaction smh.
Trvp Game
Fucking idiot me and dumb fuck you... we make a great team.. hahaaha... really bro ?
Why did you put "What??" on your comment ? I don't know... sorry if Im wastin your time anyways.
Oscar Davies
You got that somewhat right.
curious on the fuel mileage for a 10-yr-old v12 -- 12mpg?
Actually reset MPG computer for the trip KC trip where I filmed. Average was 19MPG. Gets 22 MPG highway.
wow...bravo to that!
This is my first time on your channel. I like it. Where in Kansas are u from?
That's pretty amazing considering the mass and power of the vehicle.
Pj Washington well he drove thru the plaza so looks to be somewhere in kcmo
All of these issues are unheard of in a lowly Honda Civic economy car but in a high end euro car they are sadly par for the course.
Or Toyota even Mazda
I’d rather have an unreliable Mercedes than a reliable Honda, you know your life is over when you own a Honda.
Jabber 1974 rarted
Reliable Mercedes V12. Lol nice one
THIS GUY ALMOST STOLE THE SHOW FROM THE CAR. HE'S FUNNY.
right 😂
Fun video. Great sense of humor.
If you can do your own work and you don't mind doing it then German luxury cars are the best bang for your buck.
Kolin Stallman I agree 100%
Problem is they're all computerized with esoteric spare parts.
The original owner of this car tried doing a bit of DIY repair on the engine, and that ended up busting it & bringing his car's value down to $4,500.
Jonathan Tan no he hacked it he didn't repair it lol job weld isn't a repair
I just bought a 17 year old e39 that looks like it just rolled out of the assembly line. For 3 grand! Similar size cars in that price, Grand prix, mustang, maybe a beat up 06 charger. The domestics don't even compare. The minute I got in the car I though to myself "ive been driving shit my whole life."
it's called the "fuck you shade" i used it all the time when i had my benz. literally thee best invention lol.
6:37 lmao, that such an S-Class thing to do; sliding around a cloudy parking lot in a 250k car.
Right! lol, it should be done while it's under warranty....
A friend of mine in China had one of these. I took a long road trip in it with him back in 2009. He paid 3 million Renminbi for it, or about half a million US dollars.
They have insane taxes on imported cars there
Omg lol crazy rip off
Dude, great buy and great project. I buy cars with blown engines and fix them then sell them but never thought of purchasing a Mercedes with a blown engine, I might try it. If you sell the silver elephant you'll definitely get a huge profit out of it. Good job keep up the good work👍🏼 I just subscribed.
If he sells now he may break even. Every day is a gamble with a $12k repair just around the corner. He knows this hence hoping superstition saves him.
Fun fact: at this time hoovie didn't look at his camera because he was reading the words off a piece of paper
Dont worry I've hit 300.000 km on my 1.6 TDI volkswagen polo ecu modded to 140 bhp without any issues.
Just make sure to let it heat up properly, put in the best oil and change more frequently.
ixyzyxi I don't think your in very similar situations
SaLAD why wouldnt it be comparable? Mine went from 90 to 140 bhp wich is by percentage a way bigger increase. Also the engine is smaller so the time the extra power will be used is way more common.
ixyzyxi yes but your car is designed more simply and is designed to last longer where as an s class is extremely complex and really only made to last the first owner
SaLAD true for all the gimmicks but the increased power shouldnt make it any less reliable if you treat your engine with love.
For 15k its fair, because buying it with no issues will be around 20-25k...sounds reasonable to me.
This was actually a really fun and well made video
Nice buy, thats so cool; i'd love an S Class but i'd rarely have anyone in the rear seat. My C63 has been so reliable, ive had it just under a year and not had one issue so far !! Touch wood.
then get an s class coupe
Your videos have come sooooo far!! It's awesome to see! Keep it up Hoovie!!
So if you fixed the radiator you could of used the original engine
A second engine devalues the resale
chris77777777ify Did you not watch this? They smoked the original engine.
*could have
Don't understand how. Most modern cars shut down if they overheat to save the engine. Even had a much older Merc do it.
isnt it essentially the same engine AMG builds for PAGANI ??
Boots N Pants I would take that out and put it in a Supra, straight pipe it and enjoy. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ross Gambino i think that engine is too big for the supra
Gav Com Everything is possible. Some modification will most likely be needed. A v12 Supra build has already been done anyway.
yeah it is, that's why straight piped it'll sound like a Pagani
Jake G How is he dumb? It's basically the same engine
you got a deal on the engine install
After seeing this video I love my 9th gen v6 honda accord. Not even single penny spent on repair for last 88000 miles..Do not forget the time how much he spent to research and find parts.
But do you have 600 luxurious horsepower
Hoovie the type of guy to give his car a birthday present
I bought my 2000 s500 for 725 quid still going well and with no faults
🌹I love how happy you seem while talking about your money pit! #SilveElephant #S600's RULE!! #IloveMercedes
I literally laughed out loud when I read this comment. Funny!!! 😂🤣😂
i love the breakdown price/parts that show up on video. the humor makes it worth it
$75 for a professional detail?!
Mubble Mann By professional he meant 3 mexicans and a hoes
Mubble Mann Here in South Africa it is possible to get a very good detailing for that price
"professional detail"
Mubble Mann a real good detail inside and out should be around 150$ or more 75$ just a good wax
thanks i was looking today they wanted 150 so that is reasonable.
I swear, German cars die due to stupid owners.
Heartagram i fucking swear, it seems every audi dies because the owner really belives the transmission fluid will last a life time.
bullet5760 lmaoo omfg i thought i was the only one who thought this 😂😂
bullet5760 u just ruined the thread by mentioning that au## crap
In Germany they buy 10 years old audi A8
With 200,000 km no problem cous they do the required maintenance , it will last runing good for long time.
Here in America I would not take a 2 year old
Audi A8 for free couse most people lease them
And don't give a shit , that's why they break down and become money pit
Thats because the last japanese car they had they never changed the auto trans fluid and when they sold the car it had 200,000 miles on it.
Previous owner: Raymond Redington!
Just subscribed recently. Not suprised you have 1.3 mil, great stuff!
It is so reliable, you should repair everything.
just goes to show that expensive euro cars have the same issues as the so called cheap American or japanese cars and repairs are twice as much. it's obvious that the original cooling fan quit fan and roasted the engine. so with all the super high technology in this car, where is the failsafe to derate then shut down the engine when it overheats or other life threatening issues..
Damn you have that much money in your bank I have like 7$ lol
15k? Isn't that reasonable money for a nice car?
+bass trammel
yes. sorta of how 1.5 million is reasonable money for a nice house.
but some people would be unwise to purchase nice cars or nice houses.
Justin Crediblename i know you are right and totally agree with but some people have different choices which make life different and colorful to others.
I'm hiring...must be illegal though. :)
Exactly! My colleague just bought a Honda for that much.
I know its not the v12.. but I just landed a 2000 s500 for $1800 with 145k miles and absolutely everything works.. I hope it runs forever, I love it
Awesome the S500 is great, love the V8 M113
Just pray your air suspension doesn't collapse. Airmatic is its Achilles's heel.
yass123 I believe he said this one uses hydraulic.
nooberNXC hydraulic is air suspension in Mercedes the guy is in the videos a dumbass obviously this is his first Mercedes
yass123 uses abc which is more expensive then airmatic
I gave $4500 for an 2004 clk500 soft top with no issues and it's much better than any Toyota (Lexus)
in your dreams
Even if someone did a bad repair job (on these new damned plastic radiator tanks,) WHY the hell didn't the driver either check the Temp gauge or - more importantly - why didn't the CAR flash a red light at him, or send a flashing message to the LCD, or chastise him through the audio system with a stern Teutonic voice?!?
One of the best Hoovie videos. So simple. So awesome. I love that gen of S-class! Looks like any other sedan on the road! Love it!
I wonder if this park is where that key is
Thinking the same thing.
@@paulpowell3594 if I was in the area I'd be there, but hopefully someone finds it quick!
"Always leave one thing broken. Because once you fix it, then the next thing will break"
great video the s500's are pretty cheap too with their failing air suspension
Interesting. I keep telling myself I will buy an S one day, but I'm addicted to the diesels. A lot of MB models are not sold in the USA. It is really a short serving of the product line.
well and german ford focuses are way better than american ones. so what.
Devon Wynter airmatic failed last week cost me $2200
I have an 08 e350 for two years no problems just maintenance awesome car. Alot of people are scared of luxury.
Good job! You were smart enough to buy that and fix it up, I hope you can profit from it!
Doubt it.

A very informative report. Thumbs-Up!
the real hero in this guys videos is his mechanic not him
Awesome. Great job at finding the motor. That's an unbelievably good deal.
