This video is about Unboxing and how to setup the Reef Wave 25 and 45 from Red Sea, this is not a review video, I will do a proper review of the reefwave when I will have play for months.
It's also a first look on this linear flow with the ReefWave, similar to the maxspect but with different improvement to minimise the sound vibration.
What Red Sea say about it:
Based on Gyre patented, cross-flow technology, ReefWave® smart pumps are nearly silent, smart, powerful and easy to maintain.
They provide an optimal REEF-SPEC® water flow for corals in a wide range of reefscapes, regardless of their position in your aquarium.
The combination of an advanced, smooth running and energy efficient sine-wave motor drive, with superior vibration damping mounts and dual bearings on all models, make ReefWave a nearly silent pulsing wave pump.
You can control each ReefWave pump locally through its own dedicated controller or remotely via the built-in Wi-Fi that connects easily to Red Sea’s ReefBeat app.
Dimension of my Frag tank: 90x40x30cm (36x20x12")
Dimension of my Nano tank: 60x30x20cm (24x12x8")

Wowwww thank you sooo much for making think demo. I absolutely LOVE what you’ve done with the red balls. I hope you continue to make content. Subbed
great video and tiny red balls for wave demo is awesome.
Well made video my friend
Thx eventually I will make the full review... one day lol
I got a used tank that came with 3 Icecap gyres. They are SOOOOO loud. I keep mine at 50 percent just because of the noise! Maybe I'll save up for a reef wave
Wow really smart design, I like the color coding. The controller is a little bulky and the magnet looks kinda bulky as well but looks like it will absorb the vibration really well. I couldn't spend the money on one but I wanted a Gyre so my Nano. I just bought the Jebao SCP-70. Be interesting to compare. Surley they won't make it as nice as the RedSea with ability to come apart and clean I bet. Very intuitive design though overall. I like it. Very thorough review 👍🏻
I was interesed also in the Jebao version because of the price, but looking the feedback from some people I decide to buy the Red sea version. Honestly the main reason is because I don't want to deal with accessories that break after X amount of time, RUclips take too much of my time and I wanted to spend my energy on creating video.
I put the pump on the other side of the aquarium because my skimming at the surface wasn't working properly. I couldn't use the big bar magnet so I put small magnet (strong) behind and it work well, i'm surprise!
Btw this is not a review, just unboxing and how hot you setup it ;)
@@AquaSplendor it was still an excellent video! I actually heard/read the same about the Jebao so what I did was purchase a 2 year warranty from eBay for $5.99. Figured that would be a smart bet. Surface skimming... Yes I just realized, hopefully it won't interfere with mine. I'm making a custom one so hopefully it all works out. Love your videos though friend, you're a good RUclipsr!
Seems to me that Canada have a lag of 20 years of the music charts.
Anyway, they are adorable :-)
LOL :P
The pump is really silent for those wondering. But when I change program or intensity it seems to be going full blast 100% with minimal change. Only way I managed to slow it down was to put it in reverse.
How is the gyre holding up? Great job with the visualization of the flow patterns! Can you do an update video please?!
My favorite pump, work so well!
Hi, what about noise?, can you keep this pump in your bedroom tank for example?
Yes, it's quiet!
Would you consider placing faux anenome deco to simulate tentacle movement?
Never, plastic is the reason why coral are diying (co2, temp), so I try to avoid unnecessary "toy"
@@AquaSplendor oooo got it. Thanks!!
Nice video, sadly these are $500 AUD :( but still an option for my next build
Every time I put a price in Aud I add a 0. 😛
i thought you where using the nero 5 on the frag tank?
ruclips.net/video/BXAowLNNnBU/видео.html ;)
Aqua Splendor oh thanks i guess i didn’t watch that video properly 😅
Nice review, are you from Québec?
Yup
ok and how its doing after time?
Great!
great video, but that bird....
hi, is this pump loud?, I hard it is
Pretty silent, but I most say my AC is right below so right now I can't heart **** :P
@@AquaSplendor thanks
A gyre is a terrible idea for a nano. It is way too big and the flow is too much.
Dude, watch more then just 20sec of the video lol... It was a joke that nano...
And I don't do promotional, I'm 100% independent, it piss off that people say this type of comments because 90% of RUclipsr are doing this :(
I make so much effort to remain independent and this penalize me in many ways, it's a loss loss for me but I stick to it.
@@AquaSplendor Ok ,fair enough. True , this hobby on youtube is dominated by people that just do promotions in a fake way(I use this , it's the best , it will solve your problems -> just buy it instead of : here is a promotional video , here is the product , consider it for this purpose). The end result is the perception among newbies that the solution is to throw money at the aquarium. People then get frustrated and quit.
@@AquaSplendor Would the Reef wave 25 be too strong for a 20 gallon nano even on its lower settings?
@@mihaia6026 Snap, your right, I think I cut that part of the video where I mention I bought it. Yeah it's something i'm going to be a strong advocate, always specifically say at the beginning of the video. I write at many place that info except on RUclips, duh...
@@outworld1075 Yeah ish, yeah... ... yeah... ishh... kind of... sort of? maybe? Possible... yeah, lets say yeah because anyways, if too strong you can use the inverse flow which is weak.
