It makes me emotional. It just as much as says "live every day as if it's your last." Life is a gift. Live it to the fullest. Wonderful reaction. It's obvious music means a great deal to you. You always immerse yourself in your reactions. Great job, as usual.
@@brittreacts If you really want to use your concealer catcher, check out the official video for this song. It features her two real life daughters. Also, when the youngest one in the video walks, Lee Ann's reaction is real because that was her daughter's actual first steps.
I think this song makes a lot of people emotional. The official video is even more touching because she had her very young two daughters in the video when it was filmed. Very sweet song.
My mom (before she passed) chose this song to be played at her funeral. I realized a while afterwards that this was her final message to her family and especially my brother and myself we continue to live our most fulfilling life. She'd hoped we'd dance. ❤️❤️❤️
Please go find the video of her singing this song with her daughters dancing! This is to her children, enjoy every moment of life, keep your faith, always enjoy the wonders of this amazing world and if you have a hard moment on life's journey I hope it is followed by joy. I hope you find love - its such a great message to your children. Just came upon you Britt and am loving your appreciation of all these great singers Kenny, Sheena, Dolly, Eva so much talent, songs performed with so much soul - enjoy your journey!!
When this song was pretty new (was released in 2000), I sang it to my niece when she was probably 4 or 5 years old, to get her to go to sleep. She asked me what all the words meant, so I told her they are bits of advice to put in her heart, hold in her mind, and act on when necessary. She didn't really get it, but for me, it was the best advice I could give her to tell her how much I love and care for her. She's now going on 24 years old on March 22nd, she's engaged, and she has a daughter that just turned 1 a few days ago. She remembered that moment when I sang to her, remembered the song, and said she gets it now. That fills my heart! Hopefully, she'll sing it to her daughter when she's old enough to keep it in mind and take the advice to heart!
A beautiful metaphor for life. Don't sit it out, always choose to, to do, to try, to take a risk, always choose to dance. 🤩This little song is incredibly deep, and her singing quality just adds to it. I do believe it is her song.
My mother died when I was about 21, she dedicated this song to me at my high school graduation… I cannot listen to this without crying my eyes out. She’s been gone since 2005 and I miss her every day.
I am right there with you! This was one of my Mom's favorite songs. We lost her to cancer in 2013, and I still cry whenever I hear this song (and a few others)!
This to me is one of the most beautiful songs ever written and performed. I love your reaction to this video. I usually cry myself when I hear it. Lee Ann Womack actually sang this song at Maya Angelou's funeral.
The first time I heard this song I was driving thru the mountains on vacation with my husband and two small sons. I had to pull over because I was crying so hard.....so YES, your reaction is perfect!
Definitely one of my all time favorite Lee Ann Womack songs... You should definitely check out the official video to this song which has Lee Ann's daughters in it.....
Britt, I love how your reactions are so honest and so real and raw. I think you’re really enjoying the storytelling that country and the balance like this have to offer! Thank you for being you with no apologies! ❤
My mom bought this song for me, it was a book with the lyrics, and a pocket with the CD. Now that she has passed, the lyrics mean that much more to me. Great advice for everyone, but our deepest hope for our children.
Yes! This is a crying song! Everytime that I hear it, I get very emotional. Life is very short...we should ALL dance, given the opportunity! Wonderful reaction! I loved the song and your reaction!
This is one of the songs that will be played at my funeral. ❤ I just love how it encapsulates my thoughts and feelings toward my kids, family and friends. 💯❤💯
My son and I danced to this at his wedding. Now 15 years later he has a wonderful life and so much ahead for him and his family. A great way to live your life. Love this song.
This was my sister's favorite song. She passed away May of 2012. Every year on her Birthday June 2nd and on the day we laid her to rest May 26th I go to her grave and play this song for her. Continue to rest in peace my wonderful and Beautiful Sister Dottie.
Britt I would strongly recommend that you (for your own enjoyment) watch the offficial video of this song. Lee Ann has her 2 little girls in the video and it is wonderful. It was written by Mark Sanders and Tia Sillers.
Lee Ann Womack wrote this song. In the official video when she recorded it, the young girls dancing are her daughter's. If she never wrote or sang another song in her life, she has secured her place among music's greats.
Lee Ann Womack did not write the song. It was written mainly by Tia Sillers, a Grammy award winning songwriter who grew up going to Bluebird Cafe and was heavily influenced by legendary writer Don Schlitz. I think she is a bit of a recluse.
How can one NOT be moved by these lyrics?? The lyrics are so REAL, and apply to ourselves or to loved ones...Advice that would impact a child or grandchild greatly but grownups aren't immune from the impact. Britt, I'm impressed that you DID let yourself be impacted by the lyrics!!! you actually DID "react". You have my respect for being honest, GENUINE. One of your very best! BTW, Gladys Knight also did a cover of this, featured in the Tyler Perry movie "The Family That Preys" (its played near the end at a funeral). Thnx for this reaction, it was as real as it could be. PEACE!!
This was the song that was played at my daughter's graduation. She attended a school for teen mothers. The graduating class had 13 beautiful, strong young women. These girls worked hard to offer their children the best life they could. This song brings back those sweet memories.
I've heard this song so many times before. Appreciated it just as many, but I know nothing about her and this is the first time I've heard her live, and wow...She is SO good! What a great voice.
I used to video dance recitals for several studios, and two of them used this song every year for a farewell dance for those "graduating" or "aging out" of the studio. It was always one of the high points of the program, and led to many tears from dancers, instructors and (of course) parents and other family and friends. For having heard this song soooo many times as a result, I still love this song.
I’m past 70 now and I’ve heard this song a million times, but today it made me full-on cry. I think because I know my daughter is going through a rough patch, and we always want our babies, no matter how old they are, to be happy. 💙💙💙
Lee Ann Womack, Patty Loveless, Martina McBride, Deana Carter, Pam Tillis, and of course Reba, were all top female country artists of the late 80's and 90's. There was a cover of the official video that showed a woman in a wheelchair dancing to this song that is also very emotional. I've only seen it once, but it was amazing.
Great list! I’d add another who performed in many genres: the lovely Linda Ronstadt who I saw in the 80s and she was phenomenal. The opening act was The Nevel Brothers her pop duet with Aaron was excellent.
One of the most beautiful songs of Lee Ann Womack is a cover she did of Vern Gosdin's 'Chiseled in Stone'. Going down that rabbit hole will hit you right down in the feels.
I chose this for my son's wedding dance with me. We were out to lunch a few weeks earlier and I still hadn't chosen a song. This came on the radio and I started blatting. This was our song.
When I was going through a particularly tough time in my life, my mom sent me the cassette single of this song. It gave me the hope I needed to keep moving forward. She and I still listen to it and even dance in the kitchen when I helper cook thanksgiving dinner..
Yes it is supposed to make you emotional and introspective and reassess your perspective in life. This came out in the late 1990’s and was huge. In her music video she had her daughters dancing I believe. It’s even more moving watching the young children dancing. Also this is a lovely reaction. Im enjoying your reactions. Keep it up. 🥰👍🏻
I wish I had a tissue for you! I have 2 daughters and this song was very popular when they were younger. We still say I hope you dance and they are in their 30's....we used to joke and sing "I hope you sit it out" to be funny and it still comes up on the radar sometimes and we laugh and smile. If you see her official video, you will love it because her 2 daughters are in the video. Such a very sweet song and I cried AGAIN as well. Thank you for reacting to it today. I love LOVE what you're doing! 💕
YOU, my dear, are a sweetheart! Your channel popped up and I clicked on it. I have now watched a couple dozen of your videos and I am subscribed. Could you react to Joey & Rory Feek when I’m gone. Rory wife Joey passed away from cancer 2016. Amazing song and the song writer is playing panino in video.
I love this song, my mother in law told us to play this at her memorial service, so now I always think of her when I hear it. She is greatly missed. She was an amazing person, I was so lucky to have such an amazing mother in law.
I collect music have every rock group and singer you want too hear been collecting since I been 13 years old got over 3000 thousands albums now another great reaction from you .❤️👍
I'm glad you checked out Lee Ann singing this. I was going to suggest you check out Chris Stapleton singing this and then saw that you did. I had even commented on that video to check out Lee Ann. LOL. Glad you caught both of them! Both are amazing, but obviously very different. It's just a beautiful song... 💗 (Lee Ann did not write the song, but she was the original artist who performed it. It's generally considered her song.)
The answer to your question is unmistakably yes, absolutely makes you emotional. As I get older, the background lyrics (you can miss them if you don’t know to listen for them) hit me even harder - “time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along, tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder where those years have gone?”.
LeeAnn's voice is gorgeous...another great song from her is "I MAY HATE MYSELF IN THE MORNING"...I would love to see you react to it, but I know it's a long shot...I know your list has to be very long.
Britt i like you because you have an open mind on music and life in general, and you dont care about race or religion. It shows your intellegent and have a good heart. Your husband is a lucky man. God bless you dear.
Britt I would like to thank you. Thank you for your appreciation and genuine reactions to the music. You are truly a down to earth woman. You also put your heart and soul into your reactions. I really love when you get surprised by the artist. When a song gets you moving. I only could dream of dancing with you one day. You look like you would be fun to be around. You are a very beautiful woman and cute when you get excited. Everytime I see one of your reactions you bring happiness to my heart. Thank you for that. Have a wonderful day
A great song, one of best country lyric and songs, I've ever heard. Lee Ann Womack does it wonderfully, and Dolly and Kelly Clarkson could absolutely nail this. First time I heard, I wondered if it was Dolly. This is one of those songs that is just holds you better and longer than the rest of other songs for a while. It's about hope for all things about how you see and feel the world.
