So so true. I dedicate it to my son. Everytime I listen to it. I say So inspiring!I love him so dearly. He lives overseas So proud of him. I hope he always dance😊
I am a Marine Corps wounded three times Vietnam veteran. I was with Echo 2/3 at the Khe Sahn 881 Hill Fights, April, May, 1967. We were overrun by the North Vietnamese on May 3rd. 31 Marines were killed , five in my squad. One minute you are talking to your buddies the next you are are putting them in body bags. I said all this to say life is a promissory note. Do't waste a minute. I had surviver's guilt for a few years then realized the good Lord let me live for a reason. I went on and got my B.A. and Masters, and taught school in East Liverpool, Ohio for 30 years. I taught my students freedom isn't free. SF
This song came out the year my Husband suddenly passed away from a massive heart attack. Our daughter was away at college and struggling with the death of her father and being away from home. When I heard this song it was like a message from her father. I gave her the cd the next time she was home, and told her how moved I was that it was like her Daddy singing this for her. 14 years later and she is still dancing. :)
My god what a coincidence for this song to come out after your husband's death, or like you said, a message. God bless you and your daughter, this comment popped out to me when i played this video. In fact I cried for you, carry on. You guys are so strong. God bless
+Yetta H I remember when the famous nascar race car driver Dale Earnhardt Sr died in a racing accident this song and Diamond Rio's "One More Day" were on the charts. Some stations even played those songs as a tribute. Every time I hear either of these songs I think of that tragedy. Great song and my favorite by Lee Ann.
There is no death.....hes always there and you will see him again. There is a contrvct he made with you all that he will leave when he did....... enjoy your time on earth, for we will all go home and be with one Source of love and light and each other again. xxx
My grandma gave me a card with all the lyrics to this song in it when I moved away to college after graduating high school. I tear up every time I hear this song
I saw Lee Ann some time ago when I was in the military. It was a free concert for the troops, which she did all the time. It was on the beach in Virginia Beach, Va. It was 50 degrees outside and raining. She sang this song and melted my heart. What an awesome individual with a heart of gold. God Bless you Lee Ann.
My wife, requested as our 2nd song at our Wedding 2006 to get people onto the dance floor after our "first dance" song; well it worked. I miss my wife now that her has pass from cancer in June of 2020. I still love this song an thin of her when i hear it. Thanks for letting me share.
Sorry for your loss. I can’t even imagine how hard that was. You’ve always got memories and that’s something that can never be taken away. Tell stories and let her memory live on through those stories. God bless!
2024. Still a beautiful song! My daughter was 1 year old when this song was out, dominating the charts, And I would always dance with my daughter, singing iit to her.
In pre-SHAZAM times....many years ago.....travelling the Florida keys with friends....heard this song on the radio....drove my friends and many other people crazy while singing this song to them and asking for the singers name....flying home to Europe....at the security checkpoint....still hearing my friends voice...."Oh wait....here...found it for you....have a safe flight home!" Holding a Lee Ann Womack CD in my hands....speechless....flew home....after almost 19 years later...still close to tears.....Nov 19th 2019....Love & Light to you, Lee Ann!
This song came out when I was in preschool. I couldn’t listen to it then without sobbing. Im 26 now. I still sob the minute I even hear the intro lol. This song is my Achilles heel lmao.
This is the song I play for my daughter every year for her Birthday, even before happy Birthday. This year she turns 16 and due to a TBI, has lost the last five years of her memories (retrograde amnesia).I have watched her re-learn her life, friends and family with all the tenasity this song represents, she herself is a singer and performer took the stage with in weeks of her fall in front of 200 strangers ( family &friends) and sang her heart out. Back stage though she sat quietly listening to "I hope you Dance" the song gave her the courage to face so many loving, well meaning strangers. Music is her world this song is her anthem to keep trying !
I heard this song today on the radio and it made me cry...Very powerful and beautiful message. Live every day to the fullest and appreciate what God has given you even in the toughest times...
I dedicated this beautiful song to my boys some years back... Dillon, Thomas and Paul. Raising them, as we weathered a lot together through the years. And I must say... as they are older now, those words I can still hear myself speaking today, as they journey through life weathering their own storms but knowing there is still a time to dance. As to every thing, there is a season; and a time for every purpose under the heavens. Love Mom~
I'm a single man in his 40s who will likely never have children, but I have always said this song is literally every mother's hope and dream for her children. I think of this song often whenever one of my friends has a baby lol
This song is beautiful. My son plays me this song in the morning as I'm waking up to remind me to appreciate life and the day ahead of us. He's a good kid. Been through hell and back.
That’s because singers back then were actually smarter musically - even the ones on drugs. Today maybe more singers should get on drugs because so many are stupid and untalented.
Mama would sing this song to us kids almost every night before bed. We're all grown now, and Mama still sings it to us whenever she gets the chance. It perfectly captures a mothers love and dreams for her children. Thank you, Mama. You did an amazing job with all us. Now it's your turn... to dance!!!
Just bumped into this song as I was preparing for upcoming event. Wow!! I just loved it instantly. Just the prayer for anyone who is about to brace life , facing whatsoever comes with all they got in them. Thanks and God bless you Lee Ann.We will Dance !!
A resident of the care home I live at left this world this morning at age 95. In my mind I see her dancing in heaven with her long departed husband;free from the shackles of earth and able to touch the face of God. RIP MB
It's a beatiful song and a stunning performance. It's refreshing to hear someone not oversing. Perfect tempo, pitch, and delivered with tremendous grace. This woman is incredibly talented and oozes passion without being self-absorbed.
Everything about her is so mesmerizing. Her voice is different from almost all people. Her vocals is very very smooth. The pitch is light and very smooth. Shes one of the best singers ive ever heard. Her voice actually sooths my brain. I had a stroke and its healing by reducing stress and listening to music like hers. Im diabetic so i overdid myself by staring myself of sugar and carbs while being on 4 metformins.
This beautiful song reminds me when I lived in Atlanta GA 23 years ago in 2001... I listened to this song when I drove my car to Motorola office every morning... cheers from Indonesia...
I'm hearing this song for the very first time! Hope I'm not late here? But I promise to make use of the power and inspiration in this - yeah, for me and everyone I meet!
My mom used to sing this song to me when I was a baby. But sadly i let her down, instead of dancing I just sat it out, I'm sorry mom!, I wasn't strong enough.
Lee Ann is _TRUE_ country and has the sweetest voice in all of country music. She is truly the yellow rose of Texas. There are so many imposters in this industry. Are you listening Gretchen Wilson?
First heard this when she performed it on the Opry right around the time of its release. I was stunned, to say the least. It later went on to become a pop hit as well.
This song is literally every mother's hopes and dreams for their children...

Lee Ann is very talented, no question! But the back up is the reason I keep coming back to this song. Their part keeps playing in my head!
I know! And the strings ❤

That band is good. She's beautiful and her voice is perfect. This song definitely deserves all of its success. Thanks for uploading.
Two of the three backup singers are her brothers. Makes sense that the harmonies are so close.
Lyrics is beautiful and Sons of the Desert made this song.

Just beautiful, and always brings tears....just thinking of my nephew and niece...my hearts!
One of Dale Earnhardt Sr's favourite songs....Everytime I hear this song, I can't help thinking what a tragedy his loss is! #3

This is back when you could actually hear the ACOUSTIC guitar in country recordings! And you actually had an acoustic player on the stage.
LOVE the male backup singers!!
Perfect match singer song and backing
Lee Ann is _TRUE_ country and has the sweetest voice in all of country music. She is truly the yellow rose of Texas. There are so many imposters in this industry. Are you listening Gretchen Wilson?

Tameka Gray the sons of the desert where a great country band that got screwed over by their record company. Drew Womack is still around as a singer
Great arrangement of the story with the male voices
First heard this when she performed it on the Opry right around the time of its release. I was stunned, to say the least. It later went on to become a pop hit as well.
This song is so powerful!
This is a beautiful arrangement.
