Actually, this honor is LONG overdue, and the Tigers share in this delay. When Trammell was being honored, Lou should have been so honored too ... maybe not the same day, but it sure should have been the same week or month. Next, the Tigers should mount an all-out campaign to get Lou in the Cooperstown Baseball HOF, with Trammell. Part of why Lou isn't in the HOF is because the Tigers had not honored him locally. Now, with that mistake remedied, the Tigers can correct it by making the next step a priority (similar to what the Cardinals did with Ted Simmons). Detroit News/Free Press .... you need to become more active also, just like the StL newspaper did.
It is a travesty that Lou is not in the HOF. Of the 20 second basemen currently enshrined, his stats are better than 15 of them. He is up again next year. If he is not elected, I will lose all respect for the HOF and realize that, like everything else, it is all politics.
Better late than never Lou retired 22 years ago...Detroit should have retired his #1 when they dud Trams ok not cool..... I always remember the appearance they made on Magnum PI with Tom Selleck and closed out the show I've tried to Google it but someway its been blocked 🚫 😅 on social media why I don't know....anyway I loved Selleck expression when the bar tender let im realize who they where after they left, they said something ,ike this to him" if your ever in Detroit look us up, Magnum said where can I find ya? Sweet lou said somewhere between 1st and 2nd and Tram said somewhere between 2nd and 3rd , then they left and Magnum looked at the bartender and said wait minute are you guys......... the bartender just shook his head and went then to theme song best classic episode ever!!!!
MLBHOF is just as bad as the Rock'n'roll Hall of Fame. If I was Tram, I would've called up Sweet Lou to the podium and shared the honor with. Heh...those Mafia League jerks would've prolly stripped him for that.
One of the best double play duos in baseball history. I still remember that 1984 Tiger team real well because they beat my Padres team in the World Series.
As a lifelong Tigers fan we were blessed with these two PROFESSIONAL baseball players for 20 years. No one will ever see a duo like that again. They played for the love of the game. And having Ernie Harwell call ball games was baseball heaven.
I love this video so much. There will never be anyone like this duo again. I'm not just talking baseball either. I'm talking about being role models for children who were kind, loyal, and had integrity. ❤ Brings a tear to my eye. Two Detroit legends. ❤❤❤❤ Dan Petry too. So awesome. XO

Trammell to Whitaker to 1st base for the double play to end the inning... My Father and I heard that a thousand times, thanks fella's
Erie Harwell said it best "Tram to Lou for two."

#1 & #3 Brother's!

I’m a diehard A’s fan but Trammell and Whitaker were always fun to watch!
