Beautiful Seaver cards. When I was a kid in the 80s we woukd see tons of topps, but did not see a lot of fleer or donruss. I wonder why that was. Great share of Seaver. Enjoyed
@vintagecardssteve8582 Both were especially tough for us too, especially Donruss. It seems Donruss may have cut back on their print runs in '84, maybe because of low sales the first few years? Not sure, maybe Topps just had a more established and better distribution system?
Over the last few years I’ve learned the Braves drafted both Seaver and Randy Johnson and neither ended up on the team. Wish I never learned that 😢. Really nice stuff here!
@robertgresham2591 I didn't know that about Randy, but that happens a lot with guys getting drafted out of HS but attending college instead of signing. Im sure there are a ton of them not widely known. Not sure if that would make for an interesting enough video, but definitely a fun discussion among card friends. Thanks for watching!
That was an odd beginning for Tom! My favorite Seaver card is easily the RC. I feel like I'm in the minority based on the sentiment on RUclips on multi-player RCs but I think they're all great. Even the floating heads! For the ones you have, I'd pick the 1974 Topps. The 9's you have are ridiculous but that 1974 you have is a great copy. Nice stuff, Chris!
I also like the multi-player RC's, though some not as much as others. It was a way for Topps to include more players that hadn't made much of an impact to that point. The players that got a solo RC are usually ones that played almost a full season the year before. Seaver debuted in 1967, so he could have easily been left out until '68! And I do love the '74 as well. Great action shot with the crowd in the background! Thanks for watching again. I do appreciate your comments.
@@VintageBaseballCorner Very true all around and with Seaver, I love how Topps snuck guys like he and Carew in there and several other guys over the years. So many people don't realize Nolan Ryan debuted in 1966... Imagine if Topps pulled that off! My pleasure Chris, I always enjoy the content and commentary!
loved this whole production ! great cards, great info !!
Much appreciated!
Really enjoyed the video especially the story about him joining the Mets.
@@RichardKvorka Kind of a crazy story, huh?
Aka George Seaver...what a great tribute brother!!!
@@gdellshindig8955 Thank you for watching!
