Yeah, I must be honest, I was pretty nervous about the cross stitch conversion because I'm exactly like you in that I don't want to have to concentrate too hard and I want to be able to relax. That said, I'm really enjoying the small progress I've made so far. The counting does get a little bit easier, and there's a time and place for working on a cross stitch conversion canvass. I'm also learning that I can only do small sections at a time, and then I need a break and to move onto something else. So it's definitely going to be a long term project for me, and I won't push myself or force myself with it. When I feel like working on a little bit, I will, but it won't become my main focus. Welcome to the conversion club Kim 🤩🤩 so glad you finally made it here. I love love love doing conversions and am busy with my second one. my first took 162 hours over 9 months and it was around 60 by 82cm. it was a confetti party start to Finnish but I loved every second of it. luckily my second chart is much much simpler than a Josephine Wall, even tho it is bigger. love the wip parade videos and I hope you have av fantastic festive season. love, Aleks
Hi Aleks. I'm happy to have joined the conversion party too! 😂. What I really love about this process is seeing the canvass come to life. That is what makes it so different to working on a normal diamond painting. I can see myself finishing this one and indeed working on a second one. That said, I'm finding that I can only work on very small sections at a time, and I work on a max of 1 or 2 sections, and then I need to put it away and work on a normal painting. I think this is also because the level of confetti in this image is off the charts! So I can't see myself becoming obsessed, but I can see myself having 1 cross stitch conversion as part of my WIP's at any given time. Sending hugs. ❤️

I recently started multiple canvases. I used to only work one at a time. I like to have one darker or neutral and one vibrant at the same time and I will have a smaller snack one going as well so between 3-4 canvases and as soon as I complete one another similar one takes its place.Someday I would like to do a conversion. Thanks for showing. Nice work!
Hi Cheryl. When I first started diamond painting I used to only work on 1 canvass at a time, then after a number of months it became two (one square and one round). And then after a few more months it became three. Until I've now ended up here, where I work on 6-7 at one time. 😂. This just works for me and it stops me from getting bored. Sending hugs. ❤️
I already said this to you, but Happy New Year again 🎆. Thanks for the WIP parade. Lovely. I’m feeling the desire to crochet mindlessly lately, so that’s what I am doing. Also it’s cold here (central Oregon high desert 3500 feet elevation) and my putty just doesn’t work the same and I have to keep sticking the pens under my leg to keep them sticking! So I am making a couple of blankets. Just a break and I’m finding that it’s okay. I still love diamond painting and can’t wait to work on my 3, three, WIPs. Joking Kim - but I feel a bit better knowing you have 6. Love you. ❤❄️⛷️
Hi April. I actually think it's a good idea to take a break from diamond painting every now and then, because too much of a good thing also isn't great. One can suffer from burn out with any hobby, and so chopping and changing between a few of them is probably the way to do it. You'll get back to the diamond painting when you're ready. And yeah, that putty problem would drive me nuts too! Sending hugs.

I have only done a few "off the canvas" projects this crystals and they are just not for me. I can't even think about doing an entire canvas in crystals. Your HAEDs project is a big one. It will be nice to see your image come together. I am not familiar with the artist so I don't know what the image is. The colours so far are stunning. Is the canvas poured glue? I think it is, but from the camera angle it didn't look like the typical plastic coverings (but I know you won't work with DSA). Hi Nance. Yeah, I've now totally decided that crystal drill canvasses are not for me. I really wasn't enjoying that diamond painting at all! As for my cross stitch conversion project, man alive, is that canvass going to take me forever. 😂. To answer your question, yes it's a poured glue canvass.
