Very different one today. I had my second ever go at being a GCI/forward-observer (first one got lost to time thanks to me forgetting to record it). Immensely stressful, but immensely fun. Was a lot harder to cut down in the edit, so it's a long one. Turns out there really isn't much downtime while you're coordinating fighters... even on a quiet day.
If you have any tips/feedback on my GCIing or the format of the video, I'm all ears!

I was thinking of trying this. After playing on this server I can see there is alot of skill to this when its busy. Looks like fun actually. You did a good job for only doing it once before.

@@Dr_Jebus In DCS it's not IF you lose SA, but WHEN you lose SA, how quickly do you react. You did a good job mate! :)

I'd love there to be an actual GCI/AWACS simulation/mode, showing the same degree of detail, precision, and uncertainty an actual controller would see. Like, you probably shouldn't be able to see individual Sidewinders, and you certainly shouldn't know that MiG-21 was splashed before the pilot who shot them down did
you'd probably need functioning IFF controls… and a degree of artistic licence… and whining from pedants that you've used artistic licence

Do you need CA to do GCI?
Unless things have changed, yes. You need CA to occupy the JTAC slot
