This episode is a chronicle from my formative years as an engineer and car guy. I went to engineering school at General Motors Institute from '80-85. My automotive engineering buddies and I devoured every story about the twin-turbo Trans Am project as they came out in Car & Driver. Mrs Orcutt's driveway sounded like paradise to us. And to top it off, Csaba Csere came to GMI and gave a lecture somewhere around that time.
Csaba Csere, that’s a name I haven’t heard for decades! Glad you two didn’t die that day! Listening to the stories, for me, are just as interesting as learning things. Thank you, sir!
I worked at DMAX for over a decade. I remember being all excited seeing Gale walk through in around 2009. Seeing that Sidewinder sitting in the lobby was pretty sweet!
2022. Bleeps. From the man himself known as Gale Banks. Are we not all adults here. Engine guy mechanic. We can take a curse word just be real. Please don't treat us like children
Good to hear about the hybrid truck program iv got a VW golf GTE with a tune that is a true performance car with a 100hp electric motor sandwiched between the motor and gearbox very simple and works well with 6 speed gearbox
That's really cool Gayle I remember going to Ohio and taking a ride in this 1st 6.5 diesel diesel awesome plant. I it was Frigidaire along time ago I uuse one of their stoves to Powder coat stuff. But maybe it was Delphi
Wouldn’t that be something if someone listening remembers two nut drivers passing them on the 133 highway headed to the 5 freeway north on the left shoulder lol. (Time stamp end of story 30:03)
I think Chevy did a Flat Plane crank, because Ford Mustang did it, so it’s marketing. I say this because NASCAR cross plane cranks engines hit 9,000 plus rpm. Am I right? I love take in lot’s of air, then blow it out 😂
Killing A Duramax is a single turbo. You may be referring to our Monster Truck engine, a supercharged twin-turbo Duramax. We'll be rolling that engine back into Dyno Cell No. 2 soon.

Thanks Gale. One of treasures of the automotive performance industry. When people fail to understand turbocharging I point them directly to you.
Thank you!

You issue is not with Gale, but with youtube management- you know... the ones who censored the Covid truth and the election truth.
Very fun to soak in the knowledge from Gale!
Thanks Gale, that was great! I enjoyed every minute. Great idea making a podcast, I look forward to the next instalment.

Will this series be coming to a podcast platform anytime in the future
I'm surprised Gale hasn't opened a technical training school by now....
Let’s get some!

💕I like listening to it, I would love watching it if you put it in a nice cool space with not so bright lights... 🤷
What happened to the Sidewinder alternate aint trucks can you talk about them the history But one day I want to build a replica
Did you do any work on the Toro Flow ?

We need a banks book
There's one coming. Seriously.
When are we going to see killing a Duramax and lock jaw again?
LokJaw will fire up in the next few weeks if not sooner.
killing a duramax is what i want to see some compound data

What happened to the Sidewinder all train
Great question. Gale will discuss in a future episode.
I don’t get any video?
What happened to Lockjaw, killing a Duramax etc? Get back to the good stuff.
LokJaw is being tuned right now (engine and trans). Killing a Duramax and Monster truck are on hold while dial in the AVL dyno.
