The Groove from Da Posse is my jawn!
This interview needs a part 2...I wanna hear him talk more about deep house...and the unique song selections or B-sides that Chicago DJ's made classics...
And then realising the interviewer is a massive inspiration himself, bless you for the tracks you have made in ur time you are actually my favourite of all time!
One of Chicago’s greatest legends in my book!! Good interview fellas!
Wow. Just happened to stumble upon this series, and the first video i see features one of my all time favorite house DJs! Glenn was a major inspiration & influence on my love for house music, and was a primary reason why i started djing in the mid 90's. This mans catalog is truly phenomenal, and his Strictly Jaz Unit mixtapes are amongst my most prized possessions. Great video series!
Quick Mix Claude From The West Side Was A Beast I Used To Hear His Mixtapes I Thought No One Heard Of Him This Was 1984 And I'm From The Eastside
Great interview! GU is on my Mt. Rushmore of House Producers!
This interview was just brought to my attention. Interesting. Big Ups to GU, Boo Williams, Tim Harper, Vick Lavender. S.J.U.
One the point about streaming I use Apple Play which is lossless audio quality and it broadened my mind to many types of music where I created all sorts of playlist in various genres and categories including classic house. Also albums.
I can't play House Music without jamming GU especially how bad i want u and mornin 🔥🔥🔥
He was maybe the best on CAJUAL Rec in the 90s. If he uses old samples i like him most
"like dem glasses you wearing, they jazzy as hell" haha so good. Glenn is an icon ❤
Awesome interview and i just found a new channel to watch for a loooong time! With lots of amazing history for me to catch up on as a young an upcoming house/techno producer 🙏

I was going to sleep until I stumbled upon this video and now Is 3.30 am. Now I am wide awake. Excellent interview. Glenn is a God when it comes to producing music. I have more music from him than anyone on earth, past and present. I don't know how he can think of track, after track after track, but he keeps raising the bar.
Great interview. GU seems so laid back. Congratulations on his claim to fame as releasing the most music of any artist.
I hate there's not more time.
Dope interview🙌🏾
Peacefrog Glenn, not Peachfrog 😂

According to Louie&Kenny Dope they're in the process of digitizing and releasing 3000 unreleased records. 3000 Songs plus what they've already released is a lot more than 1000 releases GU....IJS!
Who said 1000 releases, 1st thing it was over 1800 works, which is already more than maw alone, second Louie and Kenny I are my man’s, and they’re getting ready to release 3000 unreleased works, but let’s get back to my body of work: that is just Glenn works, what about my aliases like jelly bean and bidi and CVO, afrofunkenstein etc. but under the GU MONIKER: out of those 1800 + works at least 10 of those are LP’s with 10 thru 13 songs on them.. IJS! Please people do your research, I am dating all the way back to 1989, again IJS
Unreleased vs released is the question......I don't think you understand and you're speaking from a biased point of view....you love louie he from your home town I get it ......I love louie and Kenny dope also ....but they weren't even a thing yet when Glenn started producing...again this is not a slight to either of them ..but you really need to do your research
@@blackmusicconsortiumunderg2563 BOOM!
But it is all good, i ain't mad ya, just research, never a diss to two of the best to do it Louie And Kenny
@@GlennUnderground WOW, that's incredible 👍🏿
GU maybe I need to listen to more of his vast catalog but it’s more of the bland chord driven stuff from the realm of Detroit techno, tech-house, and techno. My issue with this sort of music is a lack of a good melody. Think of the Whistle Song or Larry Heard. Some of the older house tunes there was an understanding of music theory where there was a good melody. Detroit techno artist Jeff Mills is very guilty of trying to be melodic but there’s no real melody and he’s also very prolific. The DJ skills and Detroit techno brand alone allows him to get booked regularly. Soulful deep house can be guilty of this too. It’s like gospel music without Jesus. There’s no real good melody it’s just laying down vocals. Then the label hopes the right remix by the right DJ name that has a following can sell the record. Also on never working a real job. Maybe you don’t have to there’s enough of the business techno and real estate to not do that but it’s also good to learn humility and gaining on the job skills.
He didn’t mention different sides on dance mania
