Same here. This video has changed my life. I've seen this thumbnail before but now I came here to watch this video. Thank you so much for your content God bless you.
I started a record label in 2023 and then youtube recommended this to me! kushty buck records - a work in progress, thank you for Other Record Labels and the groundwork you have done for people like myself. Much appreciated!
Loved the video, you are very encouraging. I'm a hip-hop producer and DJ and have been strongly considering starting a label. I think I've finally made my decision. Thanks for the insights.
Formed a regional label in 1990 when I opened my midsized pro studio in 1982, and this small label formed a spring board for many of my first acts, enabling them to get major label signings.
Nice, thanks for the encouragement! I started this account, Giant Orange Records, firstly so I don't clog up my indie band's page (The Electric Splash) talking about vinyl nonstop, but second because the name comes from one of our song lyrics and I always thought that would be a cool name for a label (also we're in Florida, lots of oranges here, and it's kind of a nod to Sun Records) and also thought in case no indie labels are interested in us, at least we'll have a cool record label name to self-release our music. Maybe that's a stupid idea, but your video makes me think it's a good idea.
Wow Thanks heaps for this as I had been wondering how to do a better Christian record label - as we seem to have an inner circle and neglect unknowns - we should flood the market with great talent that are not getting a look in. Christians often won't go to an unchurched label..
Happy new year other record label 🏷 I need to ask you something a huge music 🎼 question 🙋♂. In your own words why album sequencing important when recording a studio album 💿 and while listening to a song from beginning to end why every single listener should listen to the song from beginning to end from the very first song the very last song aka opening track to the closing track of a song 🎵? And also Is album sequencing and tracklisting same or different from each other? This is what iamlxgend said about why albums are viewed as one whole story. It is a cohesive collection of songs used to tell a bigger theme or project an overall vibe. Think of an album as a book. And your songs as chapters. Every book has chapters. Every album has songs. Each chapter is different. Each song is different. But the collection of chapters (the collection of songs) is what tells the full story of the book (of the album). But in your own words why every single song examples at the very last track. what’s the frequency Kenneth starts at -0:00 to 4:00
I am lucky to have found some great people who believe in the music we make, together and come up with the greatest ideas! The only person/people we are still looking for is that PR, marketing and negotiation genius that fits in our Celtic clan perfectly :) I know you're out there! We are looking for you as much as you are looking for us!
Hey great video, and love where you are coming from! Will connect on your subreddit & FB as I am launching a mixed reality Virtual music venue aimed solely at Independent artist, a lot of work but nearly done...planning to give other musicians the chance to play, DJ, and perform live.
If you sign an artist, and you pay for all expenses; marketing, studio time, engineers, etc , would a 60/40 split be fair ? So after the record label pays off all expenses any profit left would be split 60/40; would that be fair ??
But I understand some musicians can get many advantages by working with a GOOD record label, to not have to do anything except creating music and do what the label has arranged for them - by themself, yes.. and I thank you for the To Do List you shared freely, it helps so much@@OtherRecordLabels
