The KEY to EDITING a great CINEMATIC SEQUENCE

- When we talk about editing cinematic sequences we tend to focus on transitions, color grading, and effects. But the KEY to editing a great cinematic sequence lies in the basic order of the clips. This tutorial covers my workflow for creating a cinematic sequence with flow and purpose. I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2019, but these concepts and techniques apply to ALL editing software!

Super helpful! I needed this dude. You’re killing it this year with the tutorials!
Holy shit Aidin. I watched this on my TV but had to hop on my phone to write a comment. I’m high as shit and this was such a good video. It explained everything so well and the pictures for frames really really helped. You definitely called me right out by saying new editors will just grab clips in a chronological order and throw music / a transition over it and call it done 😅😂😂😂 I love how you wrote that it’s putting a puzzle together. So much fucking valuable content you provide man. Thank you so much!!!
I love your videos. Keep on doing these awsome vids!
Great video! I loved how much information you were able to fit into a small 5 min video. Your videos never cease to amaze me!
Dude i seriously love your videos man! You give us a lot great information. Thanks again.
Great video brotha! Keep killing it!
I've just started to learn video editing, I don't have a camera etc so I'm using games to learn which clearly limits me on what shots and scenes are available to work with, but that being said, your tutorials are really helpful and are giving me insights that I just haven't found elsewhere which is essential if you're self learning ... So thanks a million and keep them coming
Your videos are so helpful. I’ve been subscribed for a week and have already learned so much!!

Great share and information dude. Really been enjoying your work and have learned a lot from you. Like to see how to color grade videos inside. Most of my videos are inside with tech reviews and I like seeing some youtubers where it looks clean and not a lot of contrast. Everytime I try to do this never looks right lol
It was really good man! Great content, awsome tips and you show confidence when you talk about that.
*Never stop making content and never die*
Ps; If you remake your old tutoriels and you make them by adobe it will be so helpful ♥
I agree, I thing he does it more now though. I made a video about Cinematic Videos I also use premiere. Watch it here:ruclips.net/video/p3WUtkYZaJM/видео.html
Great Information here!
Dope!
Amazing Bro love from KSA
Ahhh yes, not editing them in the order they're filmed is gonna bring so a whole new thought process. Thanks man!
hell yeah
Very cool tips 👍🏻😊 best regards from a small german filmmaker 😉🎬🎥
Great vid. I find myself editing in the order it was shot a lot. Need to break that habit
You should do a video of the computer desktop/laptop you use and why it is good for what you use it for etc.
Good stuff, Aiden!
Thank you!
going out in a min but thought i'd check this out cause ur vids are sooo good lol :)
Haha I appreciate it man!
Thanks 🙂
Thank you for your adcice!
Still great : hard to add something 😉 very well explained, very instructive and interesting
Thank u mate
With the new 'Freeform View' in Premiere Pro, would you now consider arranging the clips on a large artboard, perhaps on an external monitor, and then draft them into the timeline?
Nice video, short and sweet to the point! It does sound like you're talking about story and gluing together stuff together using theme grouping by subject layering with different levels of arcs. I like to think of a story as having progression, emotion and conclusion. For example the moving between the close, medium and wide/establishing shot is a great example of progression with a nice conclusion. The emotion coming from the music. Also as a bit of constructive feedback, maybe using the de-esser on the essential music panel might help?
Keep up the amazing work!
Premium information. Thank you very much.
Thats was great! Useful information 💪 cheers // Phil
Very helpful information 👍😊
Glad you found it helpful!
Great video man. Can you please talk about frame rates in future? Thanks a lot
great video! what's the song at the end?
Nice Video
How would you tie different sequences together. Your talked about shots was wondering about sequences?
Pretty advanced stuff you are teaching. I like it. I just do not agree with "Never edit chronologically". I know it is outdated and almost all youtubers are mixing stuff, but as usual when it comes to videos...it always depends what you need. Travel Vlog which goes day by day and you want to tell it day by day, then chronological it is. Documentary edit of a wedding (not highlight), explicitly docu style, then chronological. So it depends, but yeah, most of the 2019 mix it all up except you want to be the exception. You have new subscriber. Young man you are lit :)
For sure! When I say "never edit chronologically" I'm talking more about individual shots then entire sequences. If the best order ends up being chronological then cool, but mindlessly dragging from the media bin to the timeline in that order without even considering other options removes a lot of intention from the process
why did u swtich from hitfilm to adobe?
How do you tell a great story while not using your clips shot in chronological order? For example, if you shoot a week of a travel adventure
mannnn u are my fuckin idol in photography
Yeah now you're now a premiere guy huh nice bro!
so i just watched pogba's mom commercial this is the first time i don't skip a RUclips add.
Very useful! Definitely sub for more, thanks!
