Our dog, Coco, was diagnosed with cancer two years ago. Since she was 13 years old at the time, our doctor recommended we consider putting her to sleep because surgery would cost a small fortune. But we weren’t ready to say goodbye. We paid for the surgery, and Coco was healthy and active for the next two years. Two days ago, she had her first seizure. I immediately went on the floor and held her in my arms because I thought this would be it. I thought I was going to lose my precious friend. She recovered, and today my sister and I took her to the vet. The doctor found something unusual in her lungs. Most likely the cancer had returned, but we won’t know for certain until tomorrow. I already know the inevitable is coming, and these last two days have been unbelievably emotional. These videos have really been helpful because it makes me feel less alone. I’m gonna miss you Coco. You were the most gentle and tender puppy when my sister and I picked you from the shelter. I remember you looked so tiny when you laid on my lap during the car ride home. Coco, as peaceful as the day you came into our lives. As peaceful you will look the day you leave us. We love you so much.
They are literally mans best friend, and u hear that all the time but when u have one u really understand it. They have been bred for centuries to be loyal to us. Outside of parents (assuming u were fortunate enough to have great parents) no other living being will give u the same loyalty as a dog. Anytime i meet someone who says they hate dogs i immediately know i cant trust them and not long after im not talking to them anymore lol
Yujiro Hanma He didn’t say he didn’t have friends, numbnuts, just that he doesn’t trust a person who says they hate dogs. A desperate person, with no friends, would hang out with anybody, cause they want friendship so badly. Someone that has friends can say ‘fuck that dude,’ when they realize they’re probably not gonna get along with a person. They also have lives, so they don’t feel the need to attack someone in the comments, for no particular reason. They also have better things to do than defend themselves from some choad in the comments section. That’s for my friendless, no life having, dog-loving self to do.

When I was 13 I had moved in with my grandparents who lived on 15 acres and ran a Rescue Foundation for stray animals. We'd have anywhere between 35 to 75( I shit you not) dogs at any given time. About 30 of them would roam free doing their thing and the rest were in Kennels. We did adoptions every weekend at different pet stores, and over time you kind of learn to not attach yourself to some of them, but every now and then there's that one that just doesn't find a home that you can't help but start loving. Mine was this big fat black lab named Brewster. I don't call him fat just for fun, he had a thyroid issue and weighed more than I do now at 190 lb. And I can still remember almost breaking myself in half trying to lift this dog into the car after he blew out both his back legs to get him to the vet, and just praying that it was purely muscle damage. Come to find out he had literally destroyed his hips and the bones connecting to him and the hardest thing for me was giving him what was left of my sandwich before we put him to sleep. I can still remember him licking my fingers until the very end, I miss that fat fucker...
This reminded me of my old beagle, pepper. We got her when I was in 5th grade. Got violently ill in 2015 right before my bday. Passed away on the couch. Watching her suffer that badly still puts heavy feelings on me. We still have pics of her when she was a puppy. Dog was so smart, taught herself tricks on her own and would get back at us when we’d go out to dinner by destroying everything in the house, sofas, video games, remotes, garbage can lol good times. Anyone who doesn’t like dogs probably never owned one or thinks too highly of being a human. That old beagle vomited all over my GameCube controller one day and yeah I got upset but I also couldn’t ignore how funny the whole situation was. Like of all the places she could’ve chose to upchuck lol. But that’s just a life lesson that materials are nowhere near as valuable as living things.
I had a dog pass about a year ago, and I don't want to get another one for a very long time for that exact reason. It is so depressing to think about knowing that this sweet little puppy will one day be a frail old dog that won't be able to walk anymore. It's absolutely heartbreaking to watch.
loosing someone like a pet is one of the worst feeling because they never did anything wrong to you. and when you have to put them down it rips your fucking heart out and sets it on fire. but eventually the good memories come back.
I feel his pain. I've gone through that, and have 3 dogs right now. I cannot phantom the idea of losing any of them, living that pain again. It's gonna be hard. Rogan is right, watching them suffer is such a hard thing to do.
My dog Oakley passed away at like four in the morning on December 2, 2020. Honestly having a dog is the best thing, but losing them is the worst feeling you could probably ever go through especially when you’re under the age of like 30 because that’s the biggest loss you have, besides like family members but, family members go at like, when you’re at age like 50 or 60, but when you’re taking care of a dog they can go under the age of 30 which is the saddest thing
A guy gave a speech when i was in college about his dog that had died and he was crying a little and then we all started crying a bit as i looked around. It was sad. He did a damn good job getting through tho.
We had to put our Cane Corso (BooBoo) down on my birthday. It destroyed my wife and I we didn't talk for two days. We took him to two different animal hospitals in the same day. No one could tell us what was happening. Our vet said it was probably hermangiosarcoma.
Bro I was the same with my 8 year old dachshund Buckee. I'm not married and don't have kids. It was just me and him since he was a puppy. I lost him on September 26th 2018 to renal failure at only 8 years old. He was my child. Didn't matter how much BS I delt with at work or in my personal life. Walking through that front door to that wagging tail made it all go away. After losing him I went through a massive level of grief I've never felt before. I struggled with daily life for several months. Luckily I found a book online on how to deal with the grief.

Just had to put my pit down last week had her since a pup and she was 14 1/2 hardest thing I've had to do. My cousin died earlier this year and I was more emotional about the dog than my cousin!
My dog was 18 years and 7 months when he passed away in March. He was a Bischon Frise and I had him since I was 6. He was my little brother, my best friend. I never wanted to get to this point in life where I would be without him. He stopped being able to walk for about 6 months and I took care of him and made sure he was doing ok all the time. There were rough times where I'd spend an hour or 2 trying to get him to be ok and it would be so straineous and it would hurt not to know if I should put him down or not. I'd be able to get him ok after a while and I figured It's not my decision to get to decide who lives and who dies. I was so afraid of putting him down, I knew I was going to have to in the next few months but He went him my moms arms while I was petting him. I'm so thankful for his last moments being what they were and that I didn't put him down. But with bigger dogs you really can't do this.
I love the image of Joe Rogan greeting his dog with “good morning sir!” In that cute little voice. Dogs bring out so much good in people. We really don’t deserve them.
One of my dogs almost passed away this past weekend. Luckily my wife and I noticed the signs very quickly and ran him up to the animal hospital. The feeling I had during that moment tho hurt so much and I'd do anything to not experience that again. P.s. Yogi (the dog who got sick) is doing better each day! We found out today he has Addison's disease and that's what was causing all the issues.
As a man it’s hard for me to completely connect to my emotional side. But, when it comes to dogs let me tell you. When I put down my best friend a long time ago, I cried for days about it. Thats the thing that will always hit you hard.

Just put my dog down today, hardest thing ever, I’m still sobbing about it. He was 11. Dogs are truly god’s gift.
Sorry for your loss Sergio
I had my cat for almost ten yrs. She was honestly my best friend and I still struggle everyday without her
I have a dog that just turned 17 and although hes hanging in there, the thought of his final days looms in my mind
Is he still hanging in there?
Hey! Is your big man still alive?
Update?

I think he almost cried talking about his dog with kevin smith also.

I just lost my puppy, he was an angel, a loving beautiful dalmatian. Dogs are too good, they’re a gift. Appreciate time with your loved ones and your pets.
i lost my cat in 2019,and a other cat two days ago….never felt a pain like this in my life..
Had my dog for 2 years. Absolutely adore her. Never stop taking photos of her, never shout at her, always play with her, always pat her, kiss her on the head, and lie next to her. My best friend, man. I understand that great things never last, so I make every moment with her count.

I found my beagle chihuahua, pug mix dog named spike
Passed on under my bed in his hiding spot 3 days ago.
He was almost 11
And I got him when I first got cancer. I was 22 I’m 33 now.
The cancer is in remission now. But I would not be the person I am today, if it wasn’t for my sweet lil baby spike.
He changed my heart and life for the better.
Even though finding him passed away was one of the worst things I’ve felt in my heart .
I know I loved that dog and I know he loved me.
And in life all we can really ask for, is that the family/pets that we love, love us back.
For everyone in this comment section who lost a best friend. I’m truly sorry, and I love you, and just know your dogs loved you just as much as you loved them!!
I also just lost my beagle who happened to be named spike, he was 14 and I got him when I was in 2nd grade, I’m a sophomore in college now. It’s amazing how dogs can shape you as people. I hope everything goes well with ur health ❤️
@@seanwalloch748 I just lost my basset hound yesterday and she was 8. I’m also a soph in college. She was my childhood dog and my family was super close with her. We had her buried in our backyard yesterday. Seeing my parents cry over her really hit me hard. I never really understood what it feels like to lose your pup when ppl got emotional about losing theirs, but now I do. The best we can do is latch onto the good memories we have of them and do our best to give to others what they gave to us. Hope ur doing ok man
Our dog, Coco, was diagnosed with cancer two years ago. Since she was 13 years old at the time, our doctor recommended we consider putting her to sleep because surgery would cost a small fortune. But we weren’t ready to say goodbye. We paid for the surgery, and Coco was healthy and active for the next two years. Two days ago, she had her first seizure. I immediately
went on the floor and held her in my arms because I thought this would be it. I thought I was going to lose my precious friend. She recovered,
and today my sister and I took her to the vet. You
were the most gentle and tender puppy when my sister and I picked you from the shelter. I remember you looked so tiny when you laid on my lap during the car ride home. Coco, as peaceful as the day you came into our lives. As peaceful you will look the day you leave us.
We love you so much.
I’m sorry
@Yujiro Hanma
Burn douche burn
oh ok, let's not consider any past trauma one might have had with a dog or anything like that, let's just assume they are untrustworthy people. I don't trust people that make blanket statements.
@@commenter2015 you can have a dog phobia no one said anything bad about those people, us dog people will just not hang around you because we have others who love dogs
Jt Hopkins no actually, I love dogs. I just have enough common sense to not shun people for simply not liking what I like.
I once read a childs explanation on Dogs living short lives; he went on to say that “when people are born we need more time so we can learn to lead a good life. Well dogs are already born pure, so they dont have to live as long as we do” BEAUTIFUL 😢

had my good girl put down yesterday. 14 years of laughter and love. So appreciative of her time with us. Never experienced something so hard in my life. Appreciate every moment you have with them
You're not alone. ❤
Just lost our dog 2 weeks ago and my heart is just bleh. I miss him still and the crazy thing is he’s my husband’s dog. And it happened while he was deployed. 14years. He died in my arms, old age as well but boy do I miss him so much. It is tough. Now we have our Gizmo left and you can tell he misses Logan (our buddy that passed) too. Not sure if I can handle getting another dog yet...
gold518 sorry for your loss. That sucks... I feel your pain. It’ll get better and thank you for being an awesome owner.. much respect for how you cared and loved your pooch. Also thank hub for his service please.
I remember my first dog I had I picked out when I was 3. I put him down when I was in high school and he died in my arms. Feeling the life fade from my best friend from day one is something I won't ever forget. Hurt bad....

Not how it works but ok 😊
The chicken wouldn’t say that. It would say those humans eat my periods. Eggs are just a result of the chickens period.
lexi white I know. It is ovulation, but chicken’s period is more fun to say and will make people cringe.
I read a quote by Lao Tzu that said "The flame that burns twice as bright burns half as long" and I think I get it. Dogs are nothing but an epitome of true unconditional love and they make our lives livable.
when they are gone and we can't see them with our eyes anymore, we see them with our hearts.

My dog passed three days ago.. he was so friendly and gentle. RIP Bones

I can still remember him licking my fingers until the very end, I miss that fat fucker...
lol

I just had to put down my golden lab today. Finding some comfort in seeing these guys talk about great dogs are!!
I can’t imagine losing my dog, but I know how life works and I’m sure I’ll be very sad for a very long forever
Who’s watching this with their dog next to them ? Greatest animals on the planet.
I feel his pain. I've gone through that, and have 3 dogs right now. I cannot phantom the idea of losing any of them, living that pain again. It's gonna be hard. Rogan is right, watching them suffer is such a hard thing to do.
Having to put a dog down is an indescribable pain,u just have to celebrate their life and understand that your doing the best thing for them🙌🏽
My dog Oakley passed away at like four in the morning on December 2, 2020.

When my cane corso Maximus goes I'm gonna lose it he's like my son.
I have a presa canario, I don't even want to think about that, dogs love>human love..all day, everyday lol
I have a Podenco called Gaius. I lost my Westie two years ago and it broke me.

Them talking made me think about my Max. Almost tearing up here. He was such a good boy. Its been 10 years. I miss my boy so fucking much. Dogs give us everything we have. They live to please us. When they pass, its the hardest thing to say goodbye to your loyal best friend.
I’m very sorry for your loss joe. Sometimes it’s harder saying goodbye to them as it is to humans... 😞
Just had to put my pit down last week had her since a pup and she was 14 1/2 hardest thing I've had to do. My cousin died earlier this year and I was more emotional about the dog than my cousin!
@Yujiro Hanma god i wish i knew where you lived
I love this ! my dog is my baby so I understand I understand the pain & fear of him getting old.
I remember when my pug died, back in eighth grade I tried to give a presentation on him and sorta broke down because of it
