Curious on why you said that “the Dragon element mechanic feels slapped on” seeing as regular Odogaron is immune to Dragon element and Ebony Odogaron’s helmet gives levels in Latent Power. Seems pretty fitting to me. Still, it’s nice to see a few negative commentaries on a video primarily seen as a celebration to the series as a whole
@gmstrbert2982 Not the armor that’s the issue, I just don’t like how lackluster Ebony feels. Like Coral Pukei gets his water element from gulping up the blue fungi in the Highlands, Stygian has the Dracophage Bugs instead of Fulgurbugs, but Ebony just eats coked up meat, and suddenly gets his dragon power, which is a lot more boring. Same with the fight, Coral and Fulgur are given entirely new moves and ways to use their elements, but Ebony has like one spitball and just some effect on it’s bites, almost like a mod. It just feels lazy compared to the attention of detail that’s used on other subspecies.

Honestly, I'm just really happy that Rakna got above G. Jag. Love my spider mommy, easily my favourite of base Rise's monsters. Also, justice for Big Mac, you will always be the best starting monster in my heart
Great Jaggi might have the meme power on his side, but I think they still absolutely deserved the placement they got, due to how genuinely good of a starter monster they are. Also, it was nice to see Heavy Wings for this episode, while I still wish All-Mother got into the top fifty, it makes my heart happy seeing them in the top one hundred as my first true final boss in Monster Hunter. And on the subject of Dodo, it’s good to know he’s still popular, but I remember the phrase “being a goober only goes so far”, don’t get me wrong, he’s a good monster, but I suppose I’m just not as sold on him as most. Oh and thank God Ukanlos beat Akantor. Just as an aside.

I was wondering when Dodo was going to show up. Nice to see Frostfang, acidic, and Ebony so high. The rest I am relatively not shocked about their placement. And All mother is not the lowest ranked Final boss thanks to Xeno so that's something.

FINALLY great jaggi showed up, i was kinda, maybe, sorta, expecting him to be higher up because of the lolz and the meme power he has in the community but he did an amazing job getting as high as he did. It's interesting seeing such a wide verity of monsters in this video. ranging from cute low level monsters like dodogama, great jaggi and great maccao all the way to world ending calamitys like shah Dalamadur and narwa the allmother. I am a bit disappointed najaral and it's subspecies couldn't get as high as I wanted them too, they're just such a cool group of monsters man i really wanna see them again in wilds. Oh well at least my second and third favourite monsters Anjanath and bazelgeuse still haven't shown up yet so that's something to be proud about. Talking about stuff showing up guess what? My box full of Christmas hats finally arrived! :3

They’re not kidding about Najarala being so big, I fought a gold crown one in the swamp and like 33-50% of the map was just Najarala. Glad to see Frostfang make it this far, especially compared to the official poll. Frostfang is honestly one of my favourite monsters, it’s a fun, tough but fair fight. And it’s such a good design, an elder Barioth that just came out of a blizzard is just peak

I'm surprised, its such a unique monster, it LOOKS like the kind of boss that has its own song. I guess the fight needs a glow up to make it rank higher in lists like this too.
Damn no Gammoth? she really went up. She has already made it into the top 33%, not bad for a monster that has only been mhgu (and tecnically mhs2, mh explore). I'm guessing she will be in the next one. Looked at the total score for each vote (percentage of votes times the starts so like as an example 32% voted 5stars and 22% voted 4 stars...etc=>32*5+22*4+...etc) and Gammoth has the same scre as savage deviljho (jho has more 5stars but also more 1stars and gammoth has more 4 and 3 stars then savage jho, so they somehow ended with the exact same total stars by the time of writting this)
Did we really get the Dragon with the funny tongue on Rank 69? I mean, there are like 5 monsters total with big tongues including variations. But we got the strongest of them at the "strongest" position. That's amazing.
Dodogama is what I think of is an example of what I call the "Blue Doofus Theorem" or Bloofus for short. The Theorem states that if there is something in a game or series that fulfills the following qualifications: 1. They're blue 2. They look like a complete idiot Then it will have many fans. Another example in a different series is Quagsire from Pokemon.
Huh, bit shocked Allmother is this high, and sad that the meme of Great Jaggi made it to this spot. Otherwise most of these seem fitting for their spots - glad the angry toad made it this high, and happy Dodogama dropped a bit. I like the derpy blue boy, but like the one comment said - derpiness only gets you so high. Personally while some like having a weaker monster in a lava map (which I do agree on, make each area have a proper food chain/pecking order), my issue is that this particular map is the ELDER'S Recess, a zone known for having a crap ton of the most powerful beasts in the series living in it. Beyond them, it has one of the tankiest Brute Wyverns in the game, two versions of Rathalos (an apex in its own right), two powerful invaders and one annoying volcanic fish. This is a zone that feels like it to even exist in there, you must be tough as nails and able to fend off all the other beasts, but Dodogama just somehow exists in this brutal zone...... Whew, that was a bit of a rant, not sure where that came from. 64. Great Girros - cool look, good ecology, great armor and useful against other foes 63. Kulu-Ya-Ku - very expressive and clever Big Bird 62. Ebony Odogaron - not a great subspecies, but based off a great monster 61. Crimson Fatalis - farmed this living calamity SO much in 4U 60. Daimyo Hermitaur - giant enemy crab, very good low-tier threat 59. Tetsucabra - an even better low-tier foe, feeling very fitting for its areas and unique 58. Chameleos - a giant poisonous chameleon that is quirkier than its two siblings 57. Great Maccao - the first pack raptor boss that truly felt like something different, mainly due to a different moveset 56. Yian Kut Ku - one of the best tests for new hunters, it is Sensei for a reason 55. Frostfang Barioth - a great variant with superb armor and weapons, best version of the beast
FINALLY we saw Great Jaggi lol. I still don't understand the hype around him. He's so unbelievably basic! Great Maccao is just him but better in every conceivable way. I unironically like the small Jaggis and Jaggia more than Great Jaggi (that one funny Qurupeco ecology video helps them lol). The memes carried this thing WAY too far. Also dang, people really love Risen Randall that much, huh? My personal least favorite Risen probably, but it's cool that everyone else likes him.

I agree with Great Jaggi being overhyped - a very basic beast that WOULD make sense if it was the very first raptor boss.... but it isn't. Like you said, the pack is more interesting than their boss - maybe they can do something better with them in the future.
The neck break interaction on najarala is awesome, just another reason we need him in Wilds. Yeah him not having his own theme is sad but he may be one of the ones where a map them is inspired by him. Not sure but the theme for the primal forest may be his, in that way. I was also begging for the snake flagship, would have been perfect for making a big deal out of fixing the skeleton issues. But they just sort of said it was fixed in an interview or 2 with Balahara. I still have hope for a new snake in WIlds though. I would love maccao back... Wait a minute, maccao's not in either of the Stories game? WHY?!!! Why not put this boy and duramboros in your pokemon esc game? qurupeco has to come back to fuck with us and the other monsters. Imagine this goofy bird instigating turf wars between otehr monsters randomly. Or you're fighting a monster and, suddenly, you hear their roar on the other side of the map. Your target runs away and, once you follow them, you find this bird. He's either just messing with your target, for fun, or trying to call for help against another monster... But what this bird didn't count on was you coming with the monster he called. Frostfang was fine, it's barrioth but the gimmick he took from velkhana was her either first or second most nonsensical/frustrating one. The other being the beams through the ice walls but the foot freezing also locking your entire body, so even your arms are useless when you are holding a shield. This makes no sense, what so ever. More variants for monsters with subspecies, yes. More subspecies for monsters that have variants, also yes. They have to lean into great jaggi having visually distinct males and females as minions more. Have each react to his calls in different ways and even have just different base AI. Make the male and female minions really have different roles in the pack so spotting how many he has of each and keeping an eye on them is rewarded/not doing that getting punished. Rakna is my favorite spider, we'll see how lala barina fairs soon enough and we may get nerscylla too someday. I still wish we got a subspecies that leaned more into the web traps and interactions with you cutting them. All hail the little spider firing squad. Cue the Monty Python Rusian execution jokes any time they miss. Thank MT Framework for World's overuse of fewer skeletons. Do no rest in piece, you disappointing game engine. Hmm why don't we have a chameleos that goes hard into the whole different chameleon colors thing for different stats he can be in? That would be awesome.

I agree with Great Jaggi being overhyped - a very basic beast that WOULD make sense if it was the very first raptor boss.... but it isn't. Like you said, the pack is more interesting than their boss - maybe they can do something better with them in the future.

The neck break interaction on najarala is awesome, just another reason we need him in Wilds. Yeah him not having his own theme is sad but he may be one of the ones where a map them is inspired by him. Not sure but the theme for the primal forest may be his, in that way. I was also begging for the snake flagship, would have been perfect for making a big deal out of fixing the skeleton issues. But they just sort of said it was fixed in an interview or 2 with Balahara. I still have hope for a new snake in WIlds though.

qurupeco has to come back to fuck with us and the other monsters. Imagine this goofy bird instigating turf wars between otehr monsters randomly. Or you're fighting a monster and, suddenly, you hear their roar on the other side of the map. Your target runs away and, once you follow them, you find this bird. He's either just messing with your target, for fun, or trying to call for help against another monster... But what this bird didn't count on was you coming with the monster he called.
Frostfang was fine, it's barrioth but the gimmick he took from velkhana was her either first or second most nonsensical/frustrating one. The other being the beams through the ice walls but the foot freezing also locking your entire body, so even your arms are useless when you are holding a shield. This makes no sense, what so ever. More variants for monsters with subspecies, yes. More subspecies for monsters that have variants, also yes.
They have to lean into great jaggi having visually distinct males and females as minions more. Have each react to his calls in different ways and even have just different base AI. Make the male and female minions really have different roles in the pack so spotting how many he has of each and keeping an eye on them is rewarded/not doing that getting punished.
Rakna is my favorite spider, we'll see how lala barina fairs soon enough and we may get nerscylla too someday. I still wish we got a subspecies that leaned more into the web traps and interactions with you cutting them. All hail the little spider firing squad. @@jockpackage1770 Duramboros was in Stories 2 (not as a monstie so maybe you're referring to that) and yes, Najarala has the Primal Forest as it's "dedicated theme", like the Tundra for Barioth.
