The only inverted tricks Nelson did were 2 aerials and 1 GMS. ZERO flips or swings and even his btwist is vertical. IMO you'd need legendarily clean kicks to pull that off for an entire battle, and these kicks don't cut it for me. I agree he was more consistent, but he only showed control in very few aspects of tricking (not saying he can't do it, but to me - he lost because he never answered to any of Moe's inverted tricks). Also I feel his combo's used the same formula every time. But heck, I'll hope he saved the rest for the remaining battles :)
Nelsons cart tricks literally have ZERO invert and are therefore:
pop 7 double, pop DL (no real BS stance, wacknife too invisible to count), cart pop CA (same thing).
Beside these moves he did: 2 aerials, 1 GMS , some tornado variations (wacknives r among them, 3 of which in 1 combo), BS9, C9, 2 backsweeps, a coindrop and a btwist so vertical it's a vert spin.
Yes, tornado variations such as feilong can be awesome but IMO his look heavy, sluggish and very small. On top of that he doesn't spot half his kicks... How is this even in the same league as the other trickers!? Tricks should be credited for what they are, not for what they're supposed to be...
Agreed.
This comes down to a conversation of how much you should reward difficulty. In similar competitions (gymnastics, ice skating, other performance sports) the difficulty is the max then execution and cleanliness is deducted from it where they seem to score off execution and difficulty is a multiplier.
Frankly, i'd like to see it go towards difficulty determining how many points can be earned by the contestant and then the cleanliness determines how much should be deducted. Rewards trickers for those show stoppers and then whoever does it best should win.
I didn't agree with the decision as Moe looked a lot cleaner and did more difficult tricks in my opinion. That being said, we must respect the decision of the judges as it's their opinion and what they were looking for at the end of the day.
Moe was not landing...
Yea but he looked cleaner and did more difficult moves. Nelson played it too safe for me. It's all about opinion and this is mine :)
GingerNinjaTrickster what's the judges names?
@@jamesvancam anis cheurfa . steve tarada
@@motivationsports5354 omg that was year ago but thx😂
These battles are like so epic!
Moe deserves a second chance!!!!!!
The outcome of a battle is based on (at least) creativity, variety, difficulty en cleanly. Moe was definitely better in the last 3 aspects. Nelson was playing too safe, he did more higher level tricks during the interview then in the battle.
Ok, Moe didn't land his BS12 and his doubble b-twist>missleg>b-twist. That might cost him two rounds.
But common, how can someone win with pop feilong> (chest high) hook kick>outside crescent>non spotting & knee high backsweep>cart>pop CA against snapu?
And no, I didn't knew both of them before this battle. So don't say I'm a Moe-fan.
Gahhh every one of these leaves me feeling unsatisfied
Seems like some of you don't get how battles work. It's not only what style you prefer. If your execution is bad then it's almost a throw away round. Falling out of tricks shows you aren't consistent or your mental game was off (or injured) Look at Matt Emig's battle
People disagreeing with the outcome of the battle doesn't mean the judges made a bad choice. All in all, it's just a matter of taste, whatever your criteria are and Nelson was the one the 3 of you found was better.
Like Always Amazing Battle's Keep It Up !
it could've went either way but great battle. Also the snapuswipe Webster combo was pretty damn beast
Moe definitely won. Only one little mess up, otherwise everything was on point.
Moe's much cleaner and more powerful. I like Nelson's style a lot but it always looks half-assed. So for me, Moe took this one. Great battle tho
I love Moe, his style is fluid as hell.
This battle was judged well. Nelson had original combos, flow, and he landed everything, which is the key to doing well in battles.
Moe's 900 dub to box combo killed it, his double b combo was disjointed, and he put a hand down in his bs12 combo. He also ended two combos with websters.
Good analysis. When talking about repetition, remember Nelson ended with 2 cartfull variations, and one whole pass was a cartfull variation.
Dope stuff from both trickers
Ryan Carr True, definitely. He did 3 different variations at least.
Ryan Carr
no full variations, there was no invert so they're just pop vert kicks
Nelson's combos can't compare with the Moe's... for me, Alafrangy win!
That was good but had to dislike for the vote, I don't understand the scoring, Moe was perfectly fluid, controlled and aesthetically pleasing by comparison to Nelson.........'flow' in my opinion was Moe..........
Nice!
I enjoyed every battle especially this I'm surprised no peter pan variations happened . Seems we all preferred Moe and perhaps abit more (Moe lol) good job Nelson time to bring your A game to the next battle . Best of luck to all Trickers competing
Would you guys ask Vellu to the battle?
I Travor flipper I have liked this channel's content
Yeah right.. I've been watching Nelson for years now and i pretty much pass his sets each time he comes on screen.. Drednt every year he's made and appearance and this recent 7 on 7 battle that just happened. You can't find one video where he gets more than a 3/10 reaction from the crowd and I urge you to look.. Not one.. Moe has a couple and his first set was better than all of Nelson's and on top of that.. Nelson can't snapuswipe or box cutter or pretty much anything hard which is why he never does hard tricks, and his kicks are mediocre at best.. It kindve baffles me that anis wouldn't know better being the legend he is. Moe is in a different bracket as Nelson
I'm not sure it's worth replying to you, your post is riddled with douchery and you must have some personal beef with Nelson (or Moe admiration) if you're urging people to look at how bad he is.
Tricking difficulty is not completely defined by power moves like snapuswipe and boxcutter and as the legend Anis is, he recognizes that. Moe may be in a different 'bracket', whatever the fuck that means, than Nelson. On this day though, Nelson was consistent & Moe was not. . .That's why people get off to battles, within reason, anyone can win.
Thomas Boyden
Well actually, I agree with him and I'm not an asshole. It's true he doesn't answer any of Moe's the big tricks. In fact, he barely does a single inverted trick at all (2 aerials and a GMS). His kicks in this battle aren't half as big as Moes either. He stands after his combo, yeah... But IMO the execution should be clean, not just the landing. Moe's execution in total was far cleaner I think, and the tricks were bigger and more versatile. I agree Moe should've won.
Zuniga style is awkward, I vote moe! If he would have pulled of one of those two big swingthrus he messed up on all 3 woulda went to him.
wow I've never seen the community in such a dim light, all Americanized and competitive. Like Cake Boss or some shit. Sick stuff in there though
Well although Nelson was more consistent and did not mess up as much, Moe performed harder tricks....For me, this battle is torn
devio a ver ganado moe alafrangy :cc
NELSON!! I know that lad haha
mol was better
I prefer Moes style
Thought Moe had this one!
Do Asian vs ufc
big ups MoE Alafrangy just caught a Rza video before this one #cream
How did Nelson win??? He kept doing the same shit....mostly kick.
The other guy was more diverse 'n cleaner....
Moe's tricks in this battle demonstrated his power but not so much control or creativity in contrast with Nelson's. I agree with the decision here!
These battles are insane, but why can't we just here the audio from the battle and not this whack like SoundCloud beat
Moe Alafrangy winner for me
7 years later and still don't know how Moe lost to this untalented potato
dents coin lol
Should lose his legs un flexible
Nice!
