There is a law for that, but why would anyone bother filing a lawsuit against a small restaurant? If customers feel cheated, they simply leave and never come back.

If you’re a home cook, you can learn the difference pretty fast. Freezing a lot of food, especially meat, totally changes the texture due to the molecules being changed (think how a bottle of water can burst because ice expands, but for meat!) Eg Fresh Chicken tastes like layered meat but frozen chicken is a lot more rubbery.
It amazes me how many times these owners think that because they buy food in fresh and then freeze it (as opposed to buying it pre-frozen) that means it isn't frozen food when it's defrosted and served 😂
There really are a lot. While binge-watching I've counted several steakhouses plus regional types of American as well as Mexican, Cuban, Jamaican, and Indian, but it seems like two-thirds of these are Italian. Not that I mind; Italian food is my favorite when eating out, and I'm always disgusted when the show's chefs can't even cook the pasta al dente!
“I’m Italian, it’s what we do”. No love you’re American, you’ve probably got a great grandad who went to Rome in 1922, and you’ve probably never been to Europe never mind Italy.
Last time I checked Sicily is an Island off the Italian coastline not Americas, and if a person is born there, it makes them Italian/Sicilian, not American.
As for you thinking they were never in Sicily, you should really clean the wax from your ears, the guy clearly explained how he was trained in Sicily, by some of the top Sicilian chefs.
As the owner she should get the staff to keep track of stock and check it every day so that she knows what is needed and what she needs to buy less of . And the fact that she keeps blaming her son 💀like she isn’t the owner

As an OWNER of all people, especially in the food industry and any similar industry where your stuff can directly affect the health of others, possibly even kill them, if your staff makes one little mistake, you should have at least a rough idea of best practice, what’s good or bad ingredients and so on and also be interested enough in the ongoings of your company to at the very least do a weekly inspection and review of if every guideline is being followed and what sells or doesn’t sell and so on…. Preferably you should actually have an education in that same field so you Actually know what’s what. Because at the end of the day, whatever happens at YOUR business you are always going to be at least partially responsible for that.

I mean, it all comes down to food. Your restaurant can be absolutely shitty looking but if you serve good food, people will come. You might need to advertise a lot more but if your standard regarding food is high, people will come. I’ve traveled a lot over the years and I found that some broken looking restaurants are tastier than fine dining places so cooking is definitely the reason behind restaurant success

I can't get enough of the scenes when the waiter/waitress comes back with the food and repeats the insult from Gorgon to the chef, and the chef, unbelieving , repeats it after them and they repeat it again for confirmation
Gordon: tastes like shit!
Waiter to chef: he said it tastes like shit
Chef: shit?
Waiter: shit
This fake advertising about not serving sub standard food etc is a joke. There needs to be a law in place about false advertising and conning the customers .
there actually is
There is a law for that, but why would anyone bother filing a lawsuit against a small restaurant? If customers feel cheated, they simply leave and never come back.
Glad to hear.
The US needs really Stronger food laws like in sweden or Germany. Many european countrys have food controller paid by the country and they controll the restaurants unannounced. If there are big hygiene issues, they have the right to close the Restaurant for a time and if they dont Change forever.
@@karlfriedrichnietschevonho4599 im from Germany (too?) and to be honest I know people having a restaurant all their life and never had one inquisition. And judging by the lot of dirty kebap places in our city that doest seem to happen that often.. :(
The fact that Gordon took everyone to a freaking court room to talk things amongst themselves and then talk to former customers. 🤣🤣🤣

Same energy of:
> Not to mention
> Mentions it
I also have thought many of them only ask for help for a free restaurant makeover 😅
yeah, they just want him to validate them
I think that a lot of these restaurant owners probably are under the impression that he just remodels these places and relaunches them.
That manager was rizzing up Gordon
“The food is not the problem here.” What a unique perspective.

Gordon's forehead develops another crease
I've had turnips I forgot in my home fridge for months that were still perfectly fine. I can't imagine how long those turnips have been in there to turn that badly. Turnips are near immortal vegetables.
The temperature probably had something to do with it. Nothing looked frozen in that freezer.
Literally noone but Traci can take responsibility. Chefs, mom dont take responsibility for nothing, deny they are in denial. Wtf
And then they say Traci is a moron. She's the most capable of this whole circus !!
Gordon is so good at reading the room and analyzing social clues it's crazy. He has to have had some sort of schooling for this
The schooling is a lifetime of hardship. Born into poverty, drug addict brother, marriage, a child with health issues. Most people cannot undergo that pressure and come out on the other side stronger. Those who can are able to use their experience to apply their knowledge and skills. This plus his business background makes it easy.

Yelp reviews were positive after filming with compliments to the new dishes on the menu.
Rosaria says they did not fail but had a dispute with the landlord and business was up threefold after filming.

Chef Mic or Chef Mike ??😅😅😊😊
Gordon can instantly tell when it’s frozen it surprises me each time
If you’re a home cook, you can learn the difference pretty fast. Freezing a lot of food, especially meat, totally changes the texture due to the molecules being changed (think how a bottle of water can burst because ice expands, but for meat!)
Eg Fresh Chicken tastes like layered meat but frozen chicken is a lot more rubbery.
It's not that hard
It’s so depressing to see this mother and son throwing each other under the bus completely. It’s horrible.
the manager openly hitting on gordon the instant he steps out the door is absolutely killing me. "Jesus, I just arrived!"

It amazes me how many times these owners think that because they buy food in fresh and then freeze it (as opposed to buying it pre-frozen) that means it isn't frozen food when it's defrosted and served 😂
it's wild how many italian joints are in this show
"Italian"
Italian AMERICAN Joints.
The "A lizard in a desert wouldn't eat that" part always cracks me up. xD
Imagine owning a restaurant and not wanting to own up to mistakes.
“I’m Italian, it’s what we do”. No love you’re American, you’ve probably got a great grandad who went to Rome in 1922, and you’ve probably never been to Europe never mind Italy.
man americans be like this lol
It's probably her great great grandfather's aunts niece's sisters dog walkers boss
Thank you. These americans pretending to be european is soooo annoying
Checking the freezer is always my fav part 😂
"a lizard wouldn't eat that in a dessert" 😂😂
As the owner she should get the staff to keep track of stock and check it every day so that she knows what is needed and what she needs to buy less of . And the fact that she keeps blaming her son 💀like she isn’t the owner
I thought she just bought the place for him and the Rest was on him, thats it lol
"I'm not the chef, Gordon. It's not my fault." No you're just the one that bloody pays for it all.
ALSO
Owner: "I don't like frozen food. The people here have no standard of quality."
Also owner: "So you're saying that if it's frozen it's bad? If it stays frozen it's bad?"
That's different because it's fresh-frozen 🤣
And owner again: we have only one freezer
Me, when GR goes in: Uh, uh, uh...I see TWWOOOOO!! (And the upright one looks similar to the one my family has.)
Me again: Not the "fresh frozen" argument again. 🤦🏽♀️🙄
The manager ambushed Gordon outside to spill the beans before he walked in. 😂 what a judas 🤣 🤣
Gordon "She seems like a nice girl"
Traci: "No."
Chef: I did not overcook it.
Ramsey: wow, this is overcooked.

The fact that she says they started the restaurant without any prior experience as if that's a point of pride and not a major red flag is hilarious

Been watching all the full episodes while stuck in hospital for the last two weeks, and it’s been an amazing distraction! Thank you so much for uploading these and keeping me sane through a terrible time ❤️

Bella Luna closed for good in late 2014.
Unfortunately, the restaurant only made it 3.5 months after their Kitchen Nightmares episode aired.
At the time of its closure, the owner had plans to reopen the Bella Luna Italian restaurant.
However, since it’s been years since Bella Luna’s reopening plans, it seems unlikely that Bella Luna will ever reopen in the future.

You can see just how much gordon cares. He has so much passion for the trade of cooking, I don't know if it's genuine but it feels like it. Like he's pissed but it's an anger that a father has when his kids disappoint him, it's like he expects from you what he himself would do. Nothing less because he wants to be proud of them.
