The fun thing about JD is that he’s often seeing the things people are doing, and choosing to engage anyway. Dr. Cox handing him “Man cards” and taking them away in the manner he meant to would never fly in a workplace. *However* JD immediately calls Dr. Cox out for this by summoning his gayest accent and saying “Though the lettering is darling, have you ever done calligraphy?”
It's nice because if you listen to his episode commentaries, Ken Jenkins is like the sweetest guy possible and Bob Kelso had to be such a hard ass in the early seasons. It's nice when they gave him softer moments.
@@NiVi192 either that or he calls J.D. a girl like Dr. Cox does. I think we'll never find out. I wonder if Matt's still alive. I wonder if YOU are alive too. Wouldn't it be crazy if he responded after almost 1.5 decades?
@Ghostwriter actually, it was. If he didnt behave like a complete asshole allround, he would lose credibility as the big evil bastard very quickly and therefore no longer able to be the necessary evil in the hospital keeping tge real evil away
You can’t take a characters popularity having influence on the writers as proof for this. He was clearly written as purely evil. He became good because he grew as a character. That’s all
I hated Bob's characters for the first few seasons. He was so mean to Elliot. So, I was surprised by how much I came to enjoy his character by season 7. He really mellowed out when he retired and started hanging around the coffee shop.
A GIF or screencap of Carla saying "oh, give it up, everybody knows you two are friends" would be sooooooo handy when discussing so many other things, I'm telling ya.
+Michael Price-I don't think Bob was truly evil when he was the Chief of Medicine. He was a guy that accepted who and what he was with his life at the hospital, he knew he had to be the "bad guy", the necessary bad guy, and give someone a villain to hate. However, since he accepted that was what he was, I think it wore him down so much that he did consider himself that. Where he closed off his heart and who he truly was to everyone he came across. He was so nasty to Ted, an outright bully to Ted, and Ted being a sweet guy just trying to do his best, it probably bothered Kelso to see someone that geniune. And deep down, Bob regretted how he treated Ted, so much that when Bob resigned as the Chief of Medicine, he thanked Ted for all the years of putting up with him. He also encouraged Ted that if Ted wanted to take anything out on him now, he can go ahead, it's all right. He saw how scared Ted still was of him and encouraged him to just say everything Ted wanted to say for a long time. That said, he does still have a devilish streak to him. Mercilessly teasing JD about how he and Cox are best friends now is definitely the sinister part of Bob that won't ever truly die. Elliot and Cox would wonder why Bob would do that since he knew JD was going to get beside himself on that. And Kelso would grin and just say, "It's just for fun."
It is funny that Kelsos angle is the teaching, since he himself dropped it midway through the series. The thing he gave up though was treating patients.
"Dorian, Perry and i are like brothers now."

Weirdly considerate of him to note that.

@Witty Name Exactly! Damn Enid's pills.
today I learned a new word, probably gonna forget it though
What has two thumbs and doesn't give a crap? Bob Kelso!!
"Was it a romantic comedy?" I stopped breathing, I was laughing so hard.

Really?
I let out a little snort of air through my nostrils like one would at something that's mildly amusing but not worthy of a laugh
BigDog Tabooya man you are so cool

GMMReviews
And Cox shrugs like “Yeah we are.”
Jack "I'm alive" makes this so damn hilarious
Jack's whole voice is hilarious.
It’s such a viscous callout for a parent. The immediate gratitude, the pain knowing you will *never* live that one down. 😅😂
god i miss this show. beneath all the shouting there was so much affection for each other. we'd all be so lucky to know people like these.
There is a podcast called “fake doctors real friends” where zac and donald talk about their time filming scrubs and a lot of interesting trivias
oh yeah, if only we all had friends like the janitor, then our lives would be great
I agree completely! Scrubs is one of my all-time favorite sitcoms!!
I love how Jordan made her son pretend to be lost and scared just to mess with Dr. Cox.
This show is god tier comedy.
Jack yelling "I'm alive!" 🤣
This is the same woman who made her son “man check” Dr Cox.
Carla’s actor trying not to laugh when he screams and throws the tray gets me every time 🤣
Lol I know right she's trying so hard clenching her jaws it's so funny 😂
My fave part from Dr.Cox: "BOB! He's not gonna take that well..." too funny because he cares sounds sincere and I love Dr. Cox cuz he's awesome
Seriously, it's clear he really does care for JD, he just likes annoying him at the same time.
He was genuinely concerned for JD here, one of the few times Cox showed that JD was indeed his valuable protege
Kelso knows exactly which buttons to press to make JD scream in anger/agony.

Not just softer moments, he went full-on softie in season 8 because he didn't have that kind of pressure anymore
Hee hee, Kelso's having so much fun pushing J.D's buttons XD .
When JD is told about Bob and Cox going to the movies you can already see her bracing for JDs meltdown lol

God that ending was perfect! Carla struggling to hold back the laughter while Kelso doesn't have to, because he did it on purpose!
That scream at the end. I love how Carla just goes quiet and waits for it to blow over.
She’s seen Cox break down so she knows what to do and weather the storm!
Kelso just loves watching the world burn. One of my favourite characters on the show.

Haha Kelso is quietly the funniest character in this entire show.
Red Foreman vibes 4 sure
Cox was right in his rant on what makes people funny, Kelso was funny no matter what he said
He's the man that's funny, no matter what he says
perry is such a good father, he loves jack so much, he shouldn't worry about becoming his father

You can tell the actress that plays Karla holds back from laughing at the end.

Fav part is just Bob Kelso's trolly "Yeah." xD Soooo good
Go Bob, you push those buttons!!
I enjoy that Jack is on a payphone one minute and nowhere near one the next my fav episode so far this season!
I love that Kelso knows how much the things he say with affect JD^^
Kelso left his lunch on the other table to sit with Dr Cox.
That's a true friend.
The perfect medical comedy/drama scene doesn’t exist.
Scrubs: Hold. My. Beer!
I give Carla a point on this one! Bureaucratic work is the most tedious and annoying one; it takes away precious time!
Sereen. ... And is unfortunately one of the cornerstones of management.
And it's boring as fuck, if someone is volunteering to take it off your hands you let them

This season has been so great!
I love how Carla had no reaction. She saw it coming from a mile away.
0:33 someone laughed at that joke behind the camera
I think those are the people in the background laughing about their fake conversations
best two minutes of Scrubs! sums it up so well :D
God what a great show! There was a nice "friendship" vibe among all the characters that no show has really hit since
Jordan is just marvelous.
Also, first clue Perry: how would Jack know how to work a payphone?
how would he know that in the first place
It was to show that he was on the verge of having a nervous breakdown from stress but wouldn't acknowledge it.
What's a payphone?
I mean, this is the same kid who tricked his mom into thinking school was out because of Yom Kippur.
Wow, you can really see the hurt in J.D's eyes at 0:56.
I used to ship those two together so hard, lol.
Ew. They're canonically like father and son, dude XD
