Hello Baba. Thank you very much for these fantastic videos. I have been watching them with my children and we have been cooking many of them too. My Baba and Dedo left selo Neret in 1950 and came to Melbourne, Australia. My Dedo did a lot of the cooking and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that your bopche recipe is identical to his! I cook Dedo’s bopche all the time and I’m always amazed that a handful of basic, healthy ingredients can end up tasting so good - even my kids love it! Thanks again Baba, and please keep these culturally important videos coming. Alex
Dear Alex, thank you so much for your message on the recipe for the Bop. It’s been a favourite for a lot of people, my family and grandchildren have always enjoyed it. I would like to tell you that I am from Nevoliany and I came to Canada in 1952. And I am still cooking our natural Macedonian food and my family loves it. All the best to your family in the new year, Baba 😊❤️
Thank you very much for your kind comments! My mother taught me all these recipes when I bought my first home at the age of 20. I have been cooking this food for all this time, including looking after my seven grandkids with my husband. I hope you enjoy making some of them. Don’t give up, keep trying until you are happy with the product. Love, Baba
Thank you Anna, I don’t have my recipes written, so I make sure to clearly state what the ingredients and steps are to follow along while I’m cooking that you can write it down ❤️
Thank you Baba! I love your channel. And I love your Macedonian talking while you cook. Reminds me of when I would be with my Baba when she was cooking. Bravo!
Hello Bella, Thank you for writing to me on my segment for my Bopche. I am very happy to hear that these segments help you and your grandmother connect to each other and our culture in so many ways. I am a proud macedonian and i am so grateful to have been given this opportunity to share my recipes from my Village (Nevolany) with so many people across the world Love, Afternoons with Baba
Thank you baba for this delicious and traditional recipe. You forgot the feta crust bread and hot peppers or hot tourshia. I especially love and will make this Fruday the baked one. 🤗👍🥰
Too funny but true that you can always add more salt but hard to take away too much. My mother told me about the potato. She had heard it from an older woman in her town when she was young. Excellent advice on the tomatoes and as always another great recipe and presentation. I can almost taste how delicious it is. Che is a nice ending to many words. For example hleb becomes hlebche! My first name still ends in Che because I never grew up!
Hi Baba...I hope you and your family are staying safe and healthy during this tough time. This video was great and delicious. I wish you could do more videos more often but I do understand you are working with the schedule of others. I would very much like to request you please do a video on pitulitsi. The king we take to welcome a new baby. Stay safe, stay healthy and God Bless you and your loved ones. 🙏🙏🤗
Thank you for reaching out. I am staying safe as well as my family. I hope you are doing well during this challenging time. I will definitely make the Pitulitsi for you. My grandson also requested it. Once I am able to safely get together with my grandchildren we will film that and post it. We also have some older videos ready to be posted soon. Until then, Stay safe.

Hello Anna! We are posting a new video today. It is a tutorial on how to make Macedonian Style Phyllo Squares with Ricotta. It was filmed a few months ago, we just never had the chance to upload it! I hope you enjoy it. It should be coming in the next few hours.
Hi Sophie! Yes they were dried kidney beans which must be soaked overnight. Thank you for your questions. Have a merry Christmas - Afternoons with Baba ❤️❤️❤️❤️🎄🎅
