- Join me for my latest drum cover challenge - replicating every epic fill and groove from Led Zeppelin's 11-minute live jam of "No Quarter" at their 1973 Madison Square Garden show! I studied Bonzo's playing frame-by-frame to match the original as closely as possible with care and precision.
Keep your ears open during the outro solo for a brief slip-up in my otherwise nearly flawless performance blending with Zeppelin's live instrumentation. Did I hold my own keeping up with Jimmy, Robert and Jonesy? Now that I've tackled No Quarter, the marathon continues - next up is recreating Bonzo's legendary 45-minute "Dazed and Confused" drum solo from the same MSG show! If you think 11 minutes of complex rhythms was tough, just wait for my exhaustion next time trying to keep up a blazing tempo for 45 straight minutes! Think I'm crazy enough to take on the behemoth? Enjoyable to watch...good job...question from a non-musical person who is just interested in music though, can the drum parts in "Frankenstein" by Edgar Winters Group be played by a single drummer, straight through, without pre-recording any of the parts?
Thank you! 95% of that solo could be played by a single drummer. However, there are a few fills that do not seem likely someone played by themselves in one take. It was either overdubbed or there was an additional aux percussionist playing alongside the drummer!
