Well done, Tammy! I 3D printed a Kanohi Calix on a filament printer in college once. Took two attempts before an engineering student took pity on me and showed me how to orient the model so it would print in a safer way. That being said, resin printing is a whole other beast I was too scared to try lol. Glad you were able to get some island-of-Karzahni-esque (but usable!) masks in the end. If we don't see you here, best wishes for the rest of 2022! ^-^
I recently started printing masks on my 3d printer. I print with ordinary ABS plastic. The last one was my own development, with the implementation of which my friend helped me. The mask is called "kanohi Arak, Great Mask of Phantom Pain". This is a kind of reference to the "metalgear" games. I've never seen printers like yours work. Your masks are amazing!❤
My favorite 3d printed mask i have is a misprinted noble Akaku i got at Brickfair from the gang at Red Star Games and it's the perfect battle damaged mask for my Toa of Magnetism self MOC. They're a victim of the effects of a Kanohi Jutlin and the mask translates this damage perfectly! Misprints can be awesome if you can think of a story for them!
We know that Kanohi Masks are made in Ta-Metru, so why not use these botched prints as somewhat 'Flawed' masks, by painting them in dull metallic colours, for use as background items?
See this makes me wish I had a resin printer, all my printing errors are either the 3d equivalent of toddlers scribbling, or just the axle breaks off with the support
3:05: "I'm not even gonna tell you what it is." Hmm, given those iconic check vents, and that familiar mouth part... I'm gonna guess... The Kanohi Krakkan.
I love your videos, and I’ve seen that the 3d printed mask you have are colored or painted, I was wondering could you make a video talking about the paints you use? I have a 3d printed mask that I ordered and wanted to make it the same dark blue as Toa nokama, but I have no idea what paint would match it
Hey! So about 3d printing Bionicle parts, I've been wanting to do that myself for quite a while now. Specifically the toa hagah. But I haven't been able to find any models I could use to print the metallic parts, except for the masks. Since you've made them yourself, I hoped you knew where and how I could get these parts. Thanks in advance!
Hiya, sorry I painted existing Lego parts for the armor. That said I know KingSidorak is trying to make 3D models of parts that are printer-ready, good luck! kingsidorak.gumroad.com/
Do you have any tips for people trying to get into mask printing for the first time? My school has a printer but I’m not sure what caliber of printer is required to make these mask dreams come true
I have little experience with FDM printers, but any resin printer from the past few years should be good enough for Bionicle parts. I made a video on my first time, hope it helps: ruclips.net/video/Ti5DhctFp90/видео.html
Hey, I haven't made a general guide to 3D printing, as there are much more experienced people/channels than me out there. But I did document my first ever attempts at it, hope it helps: ruclips.net/video/Ti5DhctFp90/видео.html
Yo fam do you know of any resources for getting into 3D printing pieces??? I’m hella interested in getting into printing myself and have no clue where to start/how much this is gonna cost lol.
I've made a video about my first resin prints, but there are a lot of good guides out there covering various aspects. ruclips.net/video/Ti5DhctFp90/видео.html
Note to self: Do not allow prints to collect dust and cat hair for months before filming!
Hey Tammy just to let you know resin printing is better when it comes to turaga Dume, since all of the Kanohi Kiril axles have snapped
Those misprint mask could be use for one of Karzahni's rebuilt matorans
Yeah, I could see that.
Now I understand why Vakama was such a buzzkill in LOMN, his job is tough!
"Vakama, no wonder you have not yet 3D-printed the mask of time!"
It seems I was beaten to it.
that kualas mask looks actually really cool!, perhaps a 'battle damaged' variant as a potential moc?
still nice to see you back, love your content!
Thank you very much! I get stuff out when I can :)
I think some of these kanohi could be used in some super cool battle damaged mocs!
This is why Vakama was regarded a master mask maker :P
We're looking at Toa collision aftermaths. lol
That misprint with the big hole in the side is kinda sick tho. Maybe some Zombie Matoran with messed up masks and damaged limbs?

Thank you :) I'm glad you were able to get some help, doing something this complicated for the first to time is no easy thing!

Honestly, I think it'll be really cool if you made a graveyard like a karzani kind of thing
It would be cool to paint them bronze or blackish and glue up a big pile of broken masks to recreate vakamas workshop
Now we know why Turaga Dume didn't commission the mask of time from you.

Those messed-up prints would be great for a diorama, like mutated or corroded masks

oh don't worry, resins prints have plenty of snapping axles too!
You’re lucky it’s just masks and not a whole OO train body 😢
You got nice masks for Karzahni
This made me want jolly ranchers...
Dude, you gotta sell these customs masks, the approved Dume mask looks amazing 👏
It's a great model, credit to KhingK for that:

'fraid not, it's a movie mask I haven't shown yet ;)
Those reject parts could make for some cool zombie mocs
Aw hey this reminds me, I got my hands on some apparently really good resin lately. If it's as good as I've heard it'll be like, Perfect for masks.
That would be great if so, the resin I've used used to date has been so brittle. Def show off the results on your channel.
I will be waiting O_O
Even tho the masks failed, damn do they look cool af
Edit: spelling
There are no mistakes, just happy accidents. You went all Karzhani on us and made misshaped masks for misbehaving Matoran OCs.
some of the masks actually look cool being damaged and half done
so you have masks that can be masks used in Karzahni

Thank you :) A lot have people have asked about my paints. I will make a video about them one day, but a lot of them I get from the UK store Wilko.
@@TammyCalamity ok thank you
those could make some sick damaged masks
Is that last one a movie-accurate version of the Kanohi Hau?
I think it's the movie version of the avohkii lol
I can tell what the “future” video masks are for
You could get a bunch of failed pieces and make a zombie bionicle. Put them to use so their not completely useless
I dream to one day get a 3d printer of my own so I can build a life sized Toa.
2:28 - 3:09 would work REALLY well for some Red Star Zombies

Honestly I think that mask in the thumbnail could look cool if it where a damaged masked
Yesterday I just got my first movie 3d bionicle toa lhikan mask I love it
You could use that Dume mask for a toa Duma MOC

Making Great masks, Vakama? :P
"Perhaps you are using inferior resins"
Vakama has been spending too much time at the forge, it seems that when some of these masks were made, Vakama was using inferior disks
Where are the videos? 😢
3d misprint mask should should display.
Do you think can you make voriki the toa of lightning/energy the Original toa Toa Mata and Toa Nuva please.
have you made a tutorial on how to make mask with 3d printer?

Use all the mess up 3d prints as subjects of the realm of Kharzahni.

Did bro learn about supports yet a year later or nah?
3:05 what's the mask
That will be revealed one day (probably my next video)
3:08 onewa‘s Komau
Had the same thought it does look like the mouth from the movie
"...I could use my mask of mind control!" -Onewa, MoL abridged
What happened to your voice??
Dunno, I've always been British :P
I mean it got deaper
