You're not supposed to use that 4096x2160 resolution, even though windows thinks it's the ideal resolution, it's not. The reason you saw artifacts is because the TV is downscaling it to 3840x2160!
Got the 43 inch for 250. This thing is a BEAST. Using it for a desktop monitor for work and play. 4096 will only go to 120hz, You get 144 with 3840. You need Certified High speed HDMI 2.1 cables to get the full spec. Cable Matters brand on Amazon worked fine for me.
@@DumpMrTenPercent Oh what a same, then I will have to go for the 50" model which look like VA according to Philips website where they said the contrast ratio is 5000.1 . I prefer bad viewing angles and worst motion clarity than terrible contrast, awful blacks and light bleeding.
Use HDMI 3 or 4 inputs because they're HDMI 2.1... HDMI 1 and 2 are HDMI 2.0 only. This should enable 144Hz, could fix HDR, and could enable a color format better than YCbCr420
I got the 43in version from Walmart sale as well. Working well so far. The spec mentions 3840x2160 @ 144hz. I haven't hooked it up to a pc to test that yet.
I bought the same one as you. To do 144hz you will need to use HDMI 3 or 4 and resolution of 3840x2160. I have been pretty happy with mine. It's awesome that it has Bluetooth. I haven't tried it yet, but I want to hook up some Bluetooth headphones and/or an Xbox controller. The headphones would be great for private listening at night, and the controller would be good for emulation. This TV is not strong enough for N64, but stuff under that works fine. I used a USB controller at the time.
Unfortunately the Phillips you see right now naming rights is own by Funai corporation the maker of this TV it has nothing to do with the original Phillips company
I have the 43" version. I have been having issues with the fandango at home/VUDU app. I own hdx and uhd movies on there, but playback says its only standard def. I used drm checker, and I have widevine L1. Other apps seem to work fine.
I have a TCL 55" Q650G and I have the same issue with the resolution when I connect my PC to the TV, Windows recognize it as 4096x2160 and if I try to set it at standar UHD res 3840x2160 the black bars appears . But instead with the PS5 the resolution is the standar 3840x2160 and there is not black bars on the sides.
I will NEVER buy a Philips TV. I bought a 55 inch Phillips tv at Walmart and 2 days after the one year warranty expired the TV died. While watching it the screen went black and when I had a repair guy check it he said that a pixel died. I got the picture back but a black line ran across the entire screen and the color was distorted. I had to buy a new TV.
I know TCL 4 series looks friggin great at the cheap cheap and so did Vizio v series. So m series must be really good. You want it to last by Sony. Oh the higher grade Hisense is also really really good this year
The comments here are dropping way more knowledge than the guy who made the video. Most of his information about the TV are wrong and he didn't realize he was running on HDMI 2.0 and in 4:2:0 color.
No lies. Not a single one. In fairness to Philips and Walmart I was thinking about all the lies until I spent 20 bucks on Cable Matters Certified High Speed 2.1b HDMI cables on Amazon. Now my new 43 inch work and play monitor is outstanding. So bright I had to turn down the brightness setting to ZERO on every HDMI input.

Honestly I been a fan of Philips since the 2000s with my sound bar that is still pumping. They made almost always great products at a good price.

Do you know what kind of panel is the 43 inches, VA or IPS? Look like the 50 inch model is VA.
@@SAKEWCW . IPS according to the manual with specs listed from the Philips website.

@@SAKEWCW It's VA. Contrast ratio is a dead giveaway

Make sure you're using an actual HDMI 2.1 cable as well

Philips is not random, they been around longer than most other TV companies.

Cheapest is always good.. 🙂
How much did you pay for the tv on the Black Friday? I am not in the U.S and I can't see the Walmart link.
$298 USD. It's $100 off sale.
Use a VPN and you can view things anywhere, no geography blocking.

1080p is good for me.
Absolutely
Yup I have 720 eyes anyways lol
Who comes up with model numbers for TV's?
Didnt know this tv existed. I want the 43 now

Just realized that killing floor 2 is only $1.50 on the playstation store. You know I haven't played that in years. I'm going to grab it on here. 😁👍

Good tv only use hdmi4 . HDMI 1,2, only do 60hz
I use all for HDMI inputs at FULL SPEC. You need some new cables. Trust me. I was upset at first until I got the Certified High Speed 2.1 HDMI cables.
That's not artifacting my guy... your TV is trying to downscale.
Lies lies lies, Walmart rippoff. Thanks for the heads up.
