Jackson Storm would be a runner-up or in third place. As a rookie for Lighting McQueen; his top speed was 206 MPH. After he won 4 piston cups and got selected for the WGP his top speed was 216-220 MPH. Sure, Storm is a hybrid but his top speed was 214 MPH while Francesco top speed was 220 MPH. In Japan both Francesco and Storm would struggle in the dirt track section but that won't stop them from passing Shu Todoroki (203 MPH) and Carla Veloso (206 MPH) easily like what Francesco did after the dirt track section but Francesco still takes the win. In Italy, Francesco obviously wins due the home advantage, etc. It goes on from there so no Storm doesn't have a chance to be WGP winner considering Lighting was the better option because he was trained by Doc Hudson and had a 4 Piston Cup winning streak.

Storm would be struggling. As far as I know, he is only good at straights like in NASCAR, not on tracks with turns and curves. Not to mention the dirt track would hinder his progress by a lot. Francesco is also faster than him since if we compare their top speeds, Francesco beats him by 7 miles per hour, which is not a whole lot but considering the other factors like the dirt track, the turns and curves of the race and Storm's inexperience. Storm will struggle a lot especially against Francesco.

While that’s better than most other race cars it doesn’t defeat Storms ability to keep his full speed during turns whilst also keeping the perfect line throughout the entire race.

I strongly disagree with your take. I'm not going to talk a hole lot about top speeds like everyone else because I think top speeds are irrelevant in the grand prix tracks as the racers will rarely be going their top speeds. The difference here and why lightning faired so well is his training methods. Trained by Doc Lightning had more unorthodox training making him all around a better racer than storm. Storm was specifically trained to be the best and most efficient on a NASCAR track and specifically following perfect lines. You put him on a circuit track and he is going to have no idea what lines to follow or how to maneuver such a track. While I said top speed was largely going to be irrelevant something that is relevant is cornering + recovery. Again having little experience in this type of racing Storm is going to struggle cornering and likely sacrifice more speed than he needs to in order to corner resulting in slower cornering and longer speed recovery. While Storm is completely different from current real world Nascars something that they are notorious for is their slow speed recovery compared to say a Formula one car and if storm suffers the same handicap I'd say he will be lucky to push middle of the pack first race and probably do better the other 2 potentially even seeing a podium. Remember McQueen had much better all around experience than Storm which is mainly why McQueen did so well and he's likely the only Nascar that could have done so.

    • @DatBoiGloomy
      @DatBoiGloomy 7 месяцев назад +2

Yeah, storm would still have his nascar package whilst mcqueen was converted to a more traditional GT package helping his aero a whole lot. McQueen, but even more realistically francesco would win every race by a landslide, even with the dirt track section. Formula cars are a whole different breed compared to homalagation based designs.

  • @nothing-ub5mx

In the Tokyo race, Lightning only got the upper hand against Francesco because of the dirt track section because of Hudson teaching him how to drift and all. Jackson on the other hand, knows nothing about dirt track racing. So I think he would end up behind Francesco since an F1 car has better speed retention than a NASCAR. Even though yes, McQueen did get 2nd but that was because of Mater's mess up.
In Italy, he might win against Francesco since Lightning also did but that's also partially because Carla Veloso (the green LeMans car) and Shu Todoroki (the Japanese LeMans) were knocked out because of the allinol dilemma. Not to mention a LeMans has better cornering than an average NASCAR (McQueen is NOT a regular NASCAR), so it'd be a tough call, but I'm sure he'd still end up at 4th or 3rd if anything.
As for London, well, we don't have much intel about the track but I'm still betting on Francesco because he was ahead of McQueen when Mater and Lightning were having their conversation. But, its just an assumption.
So, that is that from how I see it.

biggest storm meat rider ☠☠considering that a Grand Prix McQueen was the only one able to contend with Francesco, they'd be relative in speed (220 mph) which is faster than Storm who was only able to achieve 214 MPH on a NASCAR circuit **practice** lap and the movie shows that Storm prefers to race at 207 MPH. The only race I can see Storm have the highest chance in winning is the Tokyo race. He defintely loses ground during the road track but it'll probably be less severe than Francesco. After that, it'll come down to whether or not Storm could take 1st place. If he does, he has a chance of winning if he sticks to his racing line and keeps Francesco out the inside (like McQueen did until he got false comms from Mater). For the Italy race, Francesco absolutely decimates as Francesco has a home field advantage. He's an F1 car capable of higher speeds, sharper turns, and far more experience. There's not a lot of footage on the London race but it'd be safe to assume Storm would get 2nd place due to Francesco's and Storm's aforementioned strengths and weaknessess.

Something people don't notice is that the WGP Racer's top speeds are inaccurate. I calculated their speeds using footage from the film. Note: the method I used does not give you top speeds but just their average speed for the clip, but it's the best example I can find of all their speeds.
    Shu Todoroki - 233 Mph
    Miguel Camino - 216.24 Mph
    Max Schnell - 195.5 Mph
    Francesco Bernoulli - 246.06 Mph
    Lightning McQueen - 246.06 Mph
    Raoul Çaroule - 161.84 Mph
    Jeff Gorvette - 225.3 Mph
    Lewis Hamilton - 219.89 Mph
    Carla Veloso - 245.86 Mph
    Rip Clutchgoneski - 226.49 Mph
Nigel Gearsley was the only one who was accurate, stilp being 180 Mph.
I checked with real world statistics to see if these made sense. The real world record for an F1 car's top speed is 246.91 Mph, just slightly faster than Francesco, so that makes sense, especially considering Francesco is one of the best racers in the world.
Real life Le Mans cars do reach about 230 Mph and a bit above. There are many McLarens which reach around 210 - 220 Mph, and Hamilton is based on McLaren. So it seems like these make sense.
Second point, the Piston Cuo requires it's cars to use restrictor plates. In real life, NASCAR cars will reach a maximum speed of about 197 Mph, but removing those plates allows them to reach 228 Mph. This means that removing restrictor plates will increase the car's speed by about 31 Mph. In Cars 3, when Natalie Certain is providing information about the Next-Gens, there is one specific statistic that flashes on screen saying "Wind Tunnel Speed: 245 Mph" and is accompanied by an image of Jackson Storm. This, to me, confirms that this is Storm's true top speed, but when he joins the Piston Cup, he's nerfed to 214 by the restrictor plates. Furthermore, 245 - 31 = 214. Coincidence? Well, potentially, but I think there's enough evidence for this to be the case. Now, McQueen's top speed as a rookie was 212.545 Mph, and if you want proof, I can link you to the video proving that. 212.5 + 31 = 243.5, but McQueen did also receive minor modifications, like the spoiler, and that was probably enough to boost his speed just that little bit more to match Francesco.
Taking all this into account, Jackson Storm would likely do just fine in the World Grand Prix, but I think Francesco would probably win. Maybe Storm would win a race, he likely gets top 3 at some point, maybe even in the whole tournament, but I don't think he wins. McQueen on the other hand. Well, if this was a normal event with no Lemon plot, Mater wouldn't be conversing with Holley and confused McQueen, meaning he just wins in Tokyo. He also wins in Porto Corsa anyway and he'd probably win in London too.
