Modern gas engines actually run very quiet. In fact, many car makers actually factory install speakers in the car that produce engine sounds to make it sound louder and more powerful. I'm sure with a little sound-proofing there was no discernible difference.
Well, he ordered the deaths of two agents in the beginning; Leland Turbo (smashed into a cube) and Rod Torque Redline (had his engine blown up) to hide his real intentions from the public, though we didn't know that yet and presumed that Z was the real villain until the end.
The fact that A) Axlerod made cars essentially have heart attacks/stomachs explode, and B) Planted a bomb in Mator's air filter (which is the equivalent to his **lungs**) makes this one frickin dark movie when disassembled
@@Jackson-mb5ey yes it is, I think there was a scrapped storyline for cars 3 where sterling was related to Axelrod, which explains why he's so rich the real reason sterling wanted lightning to retire in that storyline was revenge for throwing Axelrod in jail, and also he would have been the one to sabatoge McQueen and cause him to crash instead of him crashing on his own.
Dear god.. what a good and truly awful villain. I still can’t believe Pixar made of villain that committed attempted mass murder. I don’t think people gvie Pixar enough credit for how much of a well written villain Axelrod is.

OMG. I NEVER NOTICED. 😂😂😂😂 I see Mini Coopers literally ALL DAY and I was already VERY surprised none appeared in the Cars movies... GUESS I WAS WRONG ANYWAY! 😂😂😂😂
If a mini Cooper is a supporting character in a future cars film, it would be great if the car is to sport a lime green body and black hood in an homage to the mini Cooper in Mr bean and it would also be great to have Rowan Atkinson play the voice of that character
Miles Axldrod as the twist villain completely took me by surprise when I first saw this as a kid because the fact that he was able to get away with getting people to use his oil until Matter exposed him has to make him a great villan in Pixar
Yes, and all because he wanted to sell some fuel. Axlerod and the Lemons could have just made commercials to gain the respect and money they wanted, but instead, they caused a pointless conspiracy, along with killing government agents and injuring celebrities with intention of making the most potential threat against oil companies go away.
@@SilviaLikesCherries In the movie or real life? His personality and actions seem to, surprisingly, predict how money can cause corruption, evil, and other unacceptable conspiracies that overall are either pointless or in vain (or both). Many upper class citizens world wide have let their fame, greed, and selfishness take the best of their personalities, causing them to do irrational behaviors, manipulate others in controversial methods, refusing to listen to others or consider their advice, and just doing more harm than good in the end of the day. (Trump is a great example. When he could have just waited until 2024 and maybe changed his views and personality without any violence, he manipulated thousands of his voters to wreak havoc in the Capitol, plus betrayed his Vice President (Pence) and now is in a heap of legal trouble. And thanks to all the money he's being forced to pay for compensation, not even his 3 billion dollar net worth can afford all that, and I hope he eventually gets more punishment than he deserves thanks to how he has made this country of lies live up to its name). And in this case, Axlerod's quest to sell fuel and gain respect has caused him starting conspiracies, injuring celebrities, and murdering government agents in the worst ways imaginable, when he could have just made a commercial with the lemons to get all of his wishes without making alternative fuel look bad (not to mention the huge conspiracy that turned out in vain).
I still have one question: why create an alternative fuel where you could become very rich but instead destroy race cars telling its bad and insisting on using regular gas? Still it’s a great movie! The cars will remain in my heart!
From what i understand he never had a breakthrough with this "alternative fuel" and just researched fuel that explodes with emp. Maybe to keep cars away from using it? I mean, after all he still owns that large oil company he claims to have sold.
Axlerod's plan was to pretty much rule the economy and have the lemon cars along side him. Essentially, he "created" this new, unheard of energy source called Allinol, which was really just regular, every day gasoline. However, there was a twist to his Allinol fuel. When struck with the EMP in the camera, the fuel inside of the car would cause the motor to blow. How does this relate to Axlerod's plan? By claiming that Allinol is safe and letting the races continue on with other cars blowing their engines, civilian cars began to lose trust and interest within the concept of "alternative energy." Basically this is the formula: Low demand for alternative fuels = Higher demand for oil to make gasoline. Miles Axlerod secretly still owned his oil tycoon, so he'd be making a lot more money. According to the script Miles is one of the biggest oil barrons in the World of Cars, meaning he'd be one of the main go-to sources for oil. So, the more oil produced by Miles and the lemons, the more money, power, and influence they'd have over the economy, since cars would rely so much on gasoline.
I think he should have actually changed into an electric car if he wanted to succeed, what happens if someone catches him refueling or, as what happened in the movie, he leaked?
He's probably got backup plans for these sorts of things. Maybe he has assistants that follow him around. I mean, he needs assistants to replace his ever failing parts and never buys parts in person as Tomba explained "He's my best customer, but he always does his business over the phone." I think he got lucky when he leaked at the party, as Mater happened to be there so he had somebody to blame it on. Now you've got me curious as to how it would've went down had it happened under different circumstances.
@@piperjojostott7790 I don't see how assistants would help, his plan was pretty flawed and I'm pretty sure if he just changed into an electric car his disguise wouldn't have been blown
@@keldeo05 Eh, the assistants thing was just the first thing that popped into my head. I assumed that he would have cars working for him that would've been under oath to say nothing about his true self. After all, it's very apparent he has the means to silence anybody forever if they were to betray him.
Honestly this was such a great premise for a sequel and it should’ve been executed differently. They didn’t need to introduce all of the spy stuff in a movie that’s supposed to be about racing.
@@THGMR-ox7sd they could have done it like how other racing type movies has done it, put the main character accidentaly get into the issue and let him/her expose it smartly
Fun fact actually; the original plan was to introduce a Russian car to be the mastermind of it all, the writers went with Axelrod because they liked the twist villain idea.
I remember being so confused for a long time at why Miles was the antagonist, I never got why he wanted to ruin alinol but thanks for the explanation! I never really thought he was a sinister mastermind in the movie, I thought he was some rich billionaire wanting to fuck up some race, but visualizing it this way really makes the movie better, you never thought a character can be extremely evil until you start thinking about it.

I think he might done something to reduce the sound of his engine to prove that he's actually an electric car.
Probably made the disks in his rims louder
maybe they used some sort of soundproof plating in his engine case to reduce all sounds from his engine.
Modern gas engines actually run very quiet. In fact, many car makers actually factory install speakers in the car that produce engine sounds to make it sound louder and more powerful. I'm sure with a little sound-proofing there was no discernible difference.

Axelrod was willing to murder McQueen?! How dare he!

So putting a bomb on a car's hood is the equivalent to strapping a bomb to someone's chest, got it, didn't need to know that, but got it.

Car Anatomy:
Oil filter = Kidneys (kidneys clean blood, oil filters clean oil.)
Engine block = Heart
Air filter = Lungs (Miles was gonna make Mater’s lungs burst)
Engine and Transmission = organ system
Fuel system = digestive. (Might also be blood system?)
Windshield = eyes
Passenger compartment/cabin = Head
Grill = Mustache (like chick hicks)
Tires = legs (and sometimes arms/hands)
Awesome 👍😎
Thanks.
Fuel is essentially food. So yeah, fuel systems are basically digestion.
Not to mention, they "fart" through their exhaust pipe.
Then is the oil system the blood system

Axelrod seems to be more of a mix of different classic land rovers, the headlights are inspired by the discovery 1 *after 1994, the grille also looks to be inspired by the classic range rover (note that it has vertical lines not horizontal like the discovery 1) and the roof, cargo door and hood is probably from the prototype land rover discovery
It almost makes sense that he's made up of a few different versions if he's the Lemon Kingpin. Lots of different parts on the inside, and the outside!

Miles Axlerod's disguised voice sounds a little like Zurg from Toy Story 2. Is that true?
I guess, but Zurg was voiced by Andrew Stanton who directed Finding Nemo and Wall-E while Miles Axelrod was voiced by Eddie Izzard. 🙂🙂 🙂
THIS MAN WAS WILLING TO KILL LIGHTNING!?!?!?!
Yes, he was trying to kill you and Mater but thankfully your friend was able to expose him
@@Chonkyfurry Indeed he was a much better villain in my opinion
Yes, and all because he wanted to sell some fuel. Axlerod and the Lemons could have just made commercials to gain the respect and money they wanted, but instead, they caused a pointless conspiracy, along with killing government agents and injuring celebrities with intention of making the most potential threat against oil companies go away.
Jackson Storm: Lawful Evil Reason: Cannot accept that he lost.
Chick Hicks: Neutral Evil Reason: Bullies slow racecars.
Miles Axlerod: Chaotic Evil Reason: Literally killed dozens of cars.
Jackson was just a cockier mcqueen
What Chick Hicks did to King is literally the car equivalent of pushing someone off a roof.
i prefer chick hicks..
Don't forget that Miles might have also affected politics.
Because he was still in charge of the non alternative fuels market
He did not create any bio fuel It was all a lie.
Elon Musk
I think he should have actually changed into an electric car if he wanted to succeed, what happens if someone catches him refueling or, as what happened in the movie, he leaked?
He's probably got backup plans for these sorts of things. Maybe he has assistants that follow him around. I mean, he needs assistants to replace his ever failing parts and never buys parts in person as Tomba explained "He's my best customer, but he always does his business over the phone."
I think he got lucky when he leaked at the party, as Mater happened to be there so he had somebody to blame it on. Now you've got me curious as to how it would've went down had it happened under different circumstances.
@@piperjojostott7790 I don't see how assistants would help, his plan was pretty flawed and I'm pretty sure if he just changed into an electric car his disguise wouldn't have been blown
