You've offered a fine solution to disposing of perishable offerings. I remembered I have an extra plant pot and will start using it as a receptacle for offerings rather than trying to sneak outside to toss a bit of food into the woods near my apartment complex.

Very informative, thank you Lora! The idea of a planter pot intended just for offering disposal is excellent, and refreshing at each fire festival just makes sense. 🥰

I'm confused, at 3:30 you say "it is fitting to consume the perishable offering in honor of the gods as part of the ritual." but then at 4:35 you say "it is not generally appropriate for you or anyone else within your household, including pets, to consume an item which was offered.
    so which one is it?

I'f your invoking or evoking the God into you or your home then you can eat it, if it's a normal offering then do not

So the difference here is that in 1 you're eating the perishable AS the offering, in the other you'd be leaving the offering and then eating it after its already been offered.
