I enjoyed watching your video, my parents had a very basic Kodak instamatic camera and I still have all my family photos and holiday memories, mostly in black and white, through the 1970s. I share your passion to shoot film on retro vintage camera gear. I have a recent short video showing my current retro camera collection. I tend to flip them so only have a few, my fav is my Olympus mju zoom 105. I'll be taking that on my holday and making a new video about it. I've added your channel, hopefully you'll connect? 👍
Hi PD Tech! Yeah, my parents only used the basic Minolta point and shoot that I showed in the video as our family camera, but the best camera is the one that you have with you, and so as long that it takes pictures, that's all that really matters :) And the fact that your parents' instamatic captured all of those memories means that it's' priceless. And thank you! I've added your channel as well. You have some really interesting videos about drones!
@@theundefinedphotographer Appreciate you adding my channel so much. I enjoy flying my drones and seeing the world from a whole new perspective, aerial photography and videography opens up a whole new level of creativity. 👍
Ooof looks like a dream, but way over budget haha. The 6x17 format is definitely something I'd love to try. I always enjoy Nick Carver's videos when he shoots 6x17. Thank for watching Tyler!
Thank you for showing your interesting cameras and great pictures. I have a Pentax Spotmatic with the 55mm f1. 8 super takumar and it's my favourite film camera. The lens has such beautiful rendition in colour and black and white. I also have a Series 1 Vivitar 28mm f1.9 to use with it. Fantastic Bokeh! My digital camera is a Ricoh Gr digital which is so tiny it is always in my pocket. I usually shoot it. in black and white. The pictures have a film like quality about them which I love.
That sounds like a wonderful round up of lenses and cameras, Neil! Thanks for sharing! I'm glad to hear that you're a fellow Spotmatic and Takumar enthusiast as well! I need to remind myself to use it more.
I like your collection. It's a real good spread of cameras and formats. I had a bit of a laugh when you showed your black and silver Spotmatics :) I have the same colour combo except with two Minolta SRT Supers :) My smallest and lightest camera is probably my Minox 35 GL. It's really tiny!!! Though, my Pentax Auto 110 would rival it for size. One of my cameras I really like is my Canon Demi EE17 half frame. Beautiful little camera and has a great lens...really sharp. What's more I can get 72 pics out of a roll of 36 :) Only problem is finding enough subjects to shoot!!!.
I have a Pentax Auto 110 too! I didn't show it because I don't use it enough to justify showcasing it. I've always wanted to try a half frame camera, but I already struggle to finish a roll of 36! And yes, it's hard to decide if I like the silver or black look better, but I'm glad to hear that I'm not alone haha. The Minolta SRT Supers are great cameras.
If you want to keep your Mum's old purse looking good, get some saddle soap or leather conditioner. You can rub that into the leatherette and it'll help keep it soft and supple. What I do with my SRT's is load one with colour film and the other with B&W. That way, I have a choice as to what I might shoot pics in. As for cases/bags, I have that many of them it's not funny!!! I have specific cameras for specific bags (yeah, I know, it's crazy :P ). The good thing, though, is many of them can be used for other purposes, so I have plenty of bags to use when I need to. Sometimes, I'll have more than one camera per bag. I usually do that based on how and what I want to shoot, say two MF cameras or a 35mm and a MF camera, Whatever I happen to rationalise for that bag. But, most of my bags have a camera and a couple of lenses each. What I'd like to do is get a few dry cabinets to stick my cameras and lenses in. Keep the humidity and dust away from them. Oh, whilst I'm thinking of it...if you have trouble guesstimating distances for zone focusing, you should get yourself a little hot shoe mounted rangefinder. A watameter or a telex would be good. But, there are a few out there that will do just fine.
@@carltanner9065 Thanks so much for the tip about leatherette care! And yes, bag colleting definitely goes hand in hand with camera collecting. I've thought about getting a hot shoe mounted rangefinder too, but I've been trying to be a bit more frugal and trying to restrain myself from getting more accessories haha
I like the Rollei 35 S and Rollei 35 SE, I also like medium format folding Cameras. My favorite analog Cameras are the Canon F-1 New and Hasselblad 2000, my favorite point and shoots are Minox 35 ML and Leica Minilux.
Those are amazing cameras. The 35mm Rollei cameras are truly beautiful. I also got a Hasselblad recently. I may make another video about my medium format cameras. Thanks for watching!
Thank you! Yes, I think Rollei transferred production from Germany to Singapore in the 1970s. And lol nope, it was a freshly loaded roll from a couple months ago that I forgot about. I still haven't shot it yet, but I'm guessing that the first few frames are lost.
Home from shooting a B&W roll on my perfect Rollie 35 T after the hurricane. This camera is just so precious to me. Yours looks great. If ever ready to sell your S, reply. Never, I’m sure. :)
You must've gotten some incredible images, and I'm glad to hear that you stayed safe! Thanks so much for watching. The Rollei 35S is pretty much everything you could want in a camera all rolled into a compact little design. I love it. Nice to hear you love your T too :)
Solid collection! Most of my cameras centre around SLRs, mostly Minolta and Nikon. And as much as I like mechanical cameras a good modern SLR is nice when you want to get out and shoot!
@@theundefinedphotographer That’s awesome I myself found one of these early in my collecting hobby at a thrift store for $19 at the time I didn’t know a thing about them I just got it because I thought it was unique and different so glad I picked it up.
