  • Atleast it is still coming to sirencon.
    And atleast it will still be a circle horn and still be stupidly punchy.

    damn that sucks. i was really hoping to see this thing at sirencon fully assembled. this siren is freaking beautiful! maybe instead of cutting the horn, you can just use a special glue solvent so you don't have to ruin your work. then once you figure out the rotator you can simply glue the horn back together.

      THANK YOU!!! I just cut the horn, because i need to remodel it to make it thinner. im also making the remodeled one higher poly. And i just plastic welded these with my soldering iron, so if i really wanted to i could just put the sections back on.

    Seeing this makes me a little worried on how I’m going to try to make a square horn aca hurricane

    • @nascarsimracing1
      @nascarsimracing1  4 месяца назад

      I wouldn't be worried about that one. The square horn is much smaller than the mkii and can easily be made full size and support its own weight. Real horn is 30"x30" without the lips. With the lips it is like 34"x36" for the mouth. Entire horn from mouth to back of chopper tube is 6 feet. Now think about how tiny that is when u take that to half scale

    It seems this was a common problem with the real Hurricane. The Milwaukee hurricane is kinda notably bent a little.
    But you can’t add a little weight on the rotator?

    • @nascarsimracing1
      @nascarsimracing1  4 месяца назад +1

      The milwaukee hurricane has been bent in its entire existence. That appears to have been intentional. It is still bent even in the 1979 video of it. I did think about putting lead weights in the chopper tube. But I'd like to stay away from that if possible. Also, i did overly beef up the horn anyways. It's also really low poly. So I'd like to make it thinner and higher poly.

    • @PyroTech4051
      @PyroTech4051 4 месяца назад +1

      @@nascarsimracing1 Seems fair. But I thought Darien’s Hurricane was slightly bent a bit too. I figured the head being top heavy was one of the reasons it didn’t last long.

    • @nascarsimracing1
      @nascarsimracing1  4 месяца назад +1

      @PyroTech4051 black darien was perfectly fine. Yellow darien was kinda tilted. But that's gotta have been an error at the factory. Maybe yellow darien's horn was built by a new employee who was still learning lmao. And then with the terribly done 130 chopper swap. Yellow darien was just overall a hackjob of a siren.

    If you can, take apart a Bissell Powerforce Helix, or Helix Turbo vacuum cleaner, and get the motor out. It is a BEEFY motor, and it spins FAST. You can gear it down, and that thing will NEVER STALL! I've never tried it, and I sadly don't have the motor from it anymore, but it would be really good. It runs off of wall power, but i'm sure that's fine as long as you have an extension cord.

    • @nascarsimracing1
      @nascarsimracing1  3 месяца назад

      The rotator motor itself is strong enough, it's just that the actual rotator tube itself was bending. And that bending caused the gears to spread apart and skip. I'm gonna have to make the horn thinner for less weight.

    • @DiamondCat_Audio
      @DiamondCat_Audio 3 месяца назад +1

      @@nascarsimracing1 Ohhhhhhh. Ok. Makes sense. Maybe make some lightweight metal bracing inside the print, so it isn't too heavy, but you can make it thinner, but not sacrifice strength. 🤷

      @liamwaldrup BSC made a roblox model where it was driven by the chopper, but used a normal gearbox against a gear ☠️
      Planetary gearbox makes way more sense. Those are self contained and way more compact. They also have a much more streamlined fit in a cylinder tube. And also would explain why the tube was so tall (multiple reduction sets stacked together)
