I actually squealed when I found you have videos about PE and DVP! I watched Hematology series and pulmonary and I'm studying these two in cardiology and I can't be thankful enough. I literally shared your videos with everybody I know, they're golden.Thank you so much !
I’m from England. I was a very healthy, slim, non smoking, fit runner who ran three to four miles every single day, yet at the age of 36 I developed a freak DVT in my left leg caused by the contraceptive pill which was misdiagnosed for months by our UK NHS. It was eventually found and treated, but started to cause me venous leg ulcers 15 years later. I lost seven years of my life to the NHS just managing the ulcers until I even paid for three procedures to treat the underlying cause at a private vein clinic in London in 2018. It was the best money I ever spent and I have looked back since.
Lines of Zahn are seen in arterial embolism as they are attached to the vessel wall and have a high flow of blood washing over them. This leads to disposition of platelets etc in waves that form these thick band like lines. However, the venous side where flow is slower, has slower flow of blood so that these lines do not always occur. Venous thrombi do not have the same attachments as on the arterial side making it easier to dislodge and become a PE. The post Mortem lines of Zahn are mainly seen on the arterial side due to flow so their absence signifies death or absence of flow.
Thanks a bunch! Don’t forget to watch the next video “Pulmonary Embolism”...It has another mnemonic picture...I hope you will like it! Pulmonary Embolism (PE) ruclips.net/video/0lU1m27bkJY/видео.html
Thank you sir !! Learning medicine is easier now....I request you to upload vedios on cardiovascular system ( heart failure, flutter , fibrillation, ischemia)
Thank you for thinking of me and for the heads up. I'm going to check these problems out and do a self examination. Mom and dad always said that we ourselves need to be our own Dr's once in a while. I agree, but only to a certain extent. Thank you for sharing and caring.
You know my sister was on OCP and constantly falling sleep in front of her pc..... *HER LEG WAS LESS THAN 3 CM* swollen!!! So barely but painful and dragging it!! US showed the blood clot. ALSO.. an aunt of mine with DVT went to ER because her leg was obviously bigger than the other.. yet the ULTRASOUND WAS NEGATIVE!!! she got a CT venography SCAN and it detected the damn thing. So please pay attention to this as well. Thanks.
There are non-pitting edemas. They are anything that has exudate (such as pus). Example: abscess. Lymphedema starts as pitting then becomes non-pitting as well
My father had pneumonia and pulmonary embolism about 1 month ago, doppler showed leg swelling but no DVT . he's 50 years old ,hypertensive, overweight and heterozygous for factor v lieden , with family history of stroke and 2 cousins of leukemia .my question is Are those factors enough to cause PE or is there a suspected malignancy
i have DVT from 4 months... and i am unable to test blood for PT and INR .. how to see pt ad inr report so that i can take med. myself in this lockdown situation.. i have a little bit blueish in my knee area... and have a little bit burning sensation in toe area... and swollen calf muscle... will u please give me a good sugestion...?

FDP is most sensitive test for DIC not D- dimer and D-dimer is most specific.

Ohh i loved your lecture but i just want to know why you said pulmonary embolism is the most common preventable cause?
What minute was that in ?
رائع كالعادة .. ربنا يحفظك ويوفقك
Thanks 🙏
500 nanogram/ml D dimer not mg
If in mg then it should be 0.5 but your videos are awsome

in nursing school, they teach us to put anti-embolic stockings to "prevent" DVT and now i'm confused lol
They work, but not as much as we used to think…I am not an expert on this very topic.
I do trust this guy, but i need the study which says LMWH doesn't reduce the risk of DVT 11:30
thanks a lot for a vid, I have a question to ask though, are there some non pitting edemas? I thought all edemas are pitting ones.
There are non-pitting edemas.
They are anything that has exudate (such as pus). Example: abscess.
Lymphedema starts as pitting then becomes non-pitting as well
@@MedicosisPerfectionalis I get it now. Thanks :)
How implants cause endothelial damage?
What is the role of compression stockings ?
They may help reduce stagnation of blood.
@@MedicosisPerfectionalis The doctor gave me medicine and compression stockings, will it remove the swelling?
"Stupid test tube"😂😂
Haha 😂

What do you mean by general physiology?
Do you mean cell membrane, channels, simple diffusion, active transport,...etc?
No, I said General Pathology. Like, starting from normal cell cycle to pathways for neoplasias. To be specific , the General Path topics from Robbins.
