Loved watching this teaching video. You are so patient in explaining each step and your voice is so soothing, not hurried like a lot of videos. Thank you.
Got my pattern cut out, my missing bits came today. I just finished watching this video through, and can’t wait to get started tomorrow. Best patterns/video tutorials I have ever seen - bar none. You use Rosie’s patterns and videos and you will end up with a beautifully made bag. Best of the best! Thanks a million, Rosie. JLBokelmann
I just watched this tutorial while taking a day off from THE PARKS. My granddaughter fell in love with the little backpacks for sale in all the Disney parks and asked me to make one for her when we get home. I’m so glad you posted this tutorial before I purchased a different pattern. Yours is the closest in style and size to the $90 Loungefly backpacks I’ve seen. The excellent video tutorial is a huge bonus!
I am so glad to hear you want to make the backpack for your granddaughter. The pattern will be available soon and I would love to see what you do with it. You can post pics in my FB group when you make one. Thanks for watching!
I completed my first one of these yesterday using all cotton. It was definitely the most challenging sew for me to date, but i followed every step and detail in the plans and am happy to say it turned out great! I can confirm that it is doable on a domestic machine, just take your time. Due to layer thickness I had to use a hump jumper, but again, taking the time it worked well. Very detailed instructions. Read the instructions through thoroughly and pay attention to the the cut list and columns within it A lot of thought went into this and it shows when assembling this Thank you!
I wish I could sew as neatly as you do! Love your technique of sewing the binding onto the gusset before sewing to the bag. I am going to try that on my next bag.
I was waiting & checking everyday for an alert on ur RUclips channel for the pattern. For some reason I didn't know it was already available to purchase lol. Anyways, I bought it yesterday. Watching the video now, I like that u sewn the binding on before assembling the back & front together ❤
I love the tutorial!!! I understand there are 2 versions/sizes for this backpack. You state the second version has vinyl where the first version doesn't. I haven't seen any photos of the second version. Would be great to see a photo with a side-by-side comparison for the two different sizes. Also, where on the second version is the vinyl sewn?
Thank you! You should be able to see Chapters as I set them up when I posted the video. Let me know if they are not working. I think sometimes it takes a few hours for them to kick in. Thanks for watching?
Help please. I can’t seem to find how long the strapping webbing handles are each to be? Since it says 2 yards is needed, does this mean that each strap is only 36” long? Is that plenty long for all adults? Thanks.
On page 13 of the written instructions you will see that it says to cut the seatbelt webbing into two 36” lengths. My son is 5’11” and the straps are plenty long for him. You can always make an adjustment in length if needed.
I bought this pattern and started working on it but I am extremely nervous now because my F and G pieces from the pattern are a different shape then the f&g pieces in the video
BEAUTIFUL BUT....OH NO!!!! BINDING!!! My nemisis!!!! No matter what I do and how hard I try it NEVER turns out pretty.. I have tried on about 5 different patterns and its a no go for me.
Have you ever tried doing the binding with the method I show in the video? It gives a cleaner result and the binding acts like a skeleton for the bag. Thanks for watching!

@@RosiesArtStudio Thanks! I will definitely be watching for it.
Hi, Rosie! Great pattern and instructions. Can you add chapter marks? Thanks!

Hello from Valpo 🙂
Can you use fusible fleece?
Yes you can.
I don’t see where you linked for the zipper. Am I misunderstanding???
Rosie, how do you treat your fabric so that it doesn’t fray while you work with it?
Can I substitute a number 3 zipper?
Can we make this a little bigger to hold a laptop?
it is too small to enlarge enough for a laptop. Thanks for watching.
i just downloaded the pattern for this back pack... I am wondering if anyone has used quilted material instead of the foam? Thank you.
I bought this pattern and started working on it but I am extremely nervous now because my F and G pieces from the pattern are a different shape then the f&g pieces in the video
Can you describe how they are different?
@@RosiesArtStudio they aren't symmetrical. Like the F piece is thinner on one side and isn't rounded/widest in the center
@@annajennings7782 can you take a picture and send me a message via my website: rosiesartstudio.com
Do you include SVG files
Am i over looking how to purchase the pattern
The pattern has not been released yet. It will be available shortly. Thanks for watching!
