Take for example this paragraph: "These specializations in skills will encourage players to cooperate with one another in order to achieve more than what their class can do alone. This will make the overall gameplay of Mirandus fun, challenging and *unique*. "
Now here's the funny thing IMO. This is literally every effing MMORPG out there. It's called "tank", "DPS" and hold on to your hat... "Healer/Buffer".
Just because they call it something different in this poor excuse of a 'game', doesnt make it remotely unique.
I gotta be honest, this literally made me laugh so hard. Not sure what that guy is sniffing that wrote those things. These "Examplars" have their strengths and weaknesses, and you should(must) team up with other examplars to fill the 'skills' your examplar doesnt have. Again... Tank/DPS/Healer.
There's literally *nothing* unique here, at all. But hopefully people have more than 2 braincells, and DO realize that this is just marketing BS. "oh it's gonna be the best game ever, super unique, blah blah". Ha, well first of all, let's see if it ever comes out as a game to begin with.
Then we can all play it, and experience this unique gameplay mechanic where you need to use different roles/classes..oh sorry, I meant to say "Examplars", to build this traditional mmorpg party/team.
Still dont get people like the one Kira showed in the opening, that sent that message. What's wrong with some people. It's like they've lost every single little braincell they had, and just cant wait to lose all their money and then go live on the streets.

Yeah, if someone truly "owns" this stuff, and it's real actual stuff with value, then the company basically can't legally shut the game down without somehow compensating the asset owners. Which is obviously stupid, the dev will never put themselves under that kind of obligation. I'm not sure they even could.
If there were one single Metaverse that was publicly-owned (some kind of accursed government-run VRchat/Roblox hybrid or something) and things in it were legally transferrable, then MAYBE some of the things these crypto-gaming scammers promise could be done. I don't think it's IMPOSSIBLE to make the claim that an intangible product in a game is a thing of value in a legal sense (software has value, stocks have value, neither of those are exactly tangible per se, etc.). And I suppose, if you acknowledged or failed to disclaim that a game asset purchased for real money solely had value within the game, you could be on the hook for it. Realistically, though, the present state of things already has a fallback for scummy devs: "Yeah we shut the game down, but your NFT still exists, we didn't take away the thing-of-value that you own, we just changed the circumstances that would result in how its value is appraised."
Arguably, a game can do that already without shutting down through things like patches and buffs/nerfs, but a court would probably frown on the idea that you suffered an injury due to changes in circumstances of that sort (again, like stocks, you can't sue because their value went down because a company made a bad decision, absent specific legal justification).
Basically what I'm saying is that the NFT grift already lets you say "Yeah you have the thing of value still, its value is just zero now that it can't be used for anything. Deal with it." Shutting a game down isn't denying you the thing you own, because an NFT is conveniently just a pointer or receipt and you totally still own that even if you don't own whatever it pointed to.

You see people complaining that Tolkein's work is "too derivative", you see Warhammer being accused of ripping off Blizzard, etc.
Whichever one gets in front of your eyes first has a LOT of power in your perception of innovation.
Also, remember that gamers aren't *really* the target market for this sort of shit. They want people who are looking to expand their wealth, but have little investment (*cough*scam*cough*) knowledge, who find shares and similar intimidating, but keep hearing about 'new' and 'disruptive' tech companies making billions. At 6:20 all I can think is.. at least one person bought a Grand Inn, Camp, Large Inn, Majestic Inn, and Tent.
It's rare for MMOS to use resting sites as anything other than a travel hub. And even then, their services are typically very cheap or free because it encourages roleplaying as a living being that needs sleep.
So it's entirely possible that the cash someone dropped on the game could go to... a nonprofit building that people don't even realize is owned. Or worse, a building that nobody would even bother to use because the more expensive one is just always better. Or all of the resting sites give the same bonus so the Majestic Inn just looks nicer for 100x the cost of buying a tent. Or maybe all resting sites are pointless cosmetics. Because the game isn't out yet, all we have is an implicit promise that "it'll be worth it".

I can't help but think some of these posters are just trying to bring awareness to their game, knowing any publicity is good publicity. Until they bring a lawsuit blaming you for being right... playing the long game, very clever you crypto homies.

I think there needs to be healthy criticism of projects, both before and after launch. Keep it up. Continue to be clear why you feel the game is bad. I don't agree with all of your assessments but I do like your approach.

7:00 lol, “tent” is sold out!
Imagine playing a game and not even being able to have a basic tent and then having to buy one marked up from some shady rando…

It is what you do. I like your videos tho. I've been watching you for months. I like your content because as a business person in the crypto gaming space your and people your critical eye of the bs in the industry has help me to form a good business. We should have a real conversation. Because there are things you don't know and that's just that. My opinion on your content tho. It's great

I paused and looked at the list of games. As someone who is a gamer on an enthusiast hobby level, and who keeps up with news in gaming even for stuff I might not have specific interest in playing, I've never ever heard of one of these games. And that's the problem, isn't it? These games aren't about being games, it's about earning money in a less 'subtle' way that companies like EA and Activision try, and we already loathe THEM for that. If you haven't caught the attention of enthusiast gamers like myself, or the pletheora of non-crypto bro whales out there, then you're not really important, big, or meaningful in any way.

If the only way to use your NFTs is in one single game with one single marketplace, then it's just normal limited quantity game assets that took a wildly inefficient amount of processing power to generate and are transferred just as inefficiently.

I'd say go ahead and review them, let us budding game makers have a good look at what not to do 🤘🖖👌❤
