Baryshnikov owns this one. And so far, nobody took it away from him.
I completely agree
It doesn't matter who one watches today..Polunin etc etc no one can touch Micha. Taking into consideration how there is a natural and very swift evolution in the movement arts, and we are now talking 40 years, this is truly astounding.
Number 1: Baryshnikov
Number 2: Baryshnikov
Number 3: Baryshnikov
Number 4: Baryshnikov
Number 5: Baryshnikov
(in that order)
Jaja!!! Síiii!!!
❤❤❤
Misha is the best male ballet dancer that I have ever watched. You can't take your eyes off of him. He is perfection in motion.
Baryshnikov was the best, and more convincing!
Misha's performance displays the reason why he is considered the best of all time! He deserves it!
The difference between Baryshnikov and others is that Misha is living the dance,he IS the dance, while others are simply dancing ,very well of course.
Of course it's the dancing, but it's also the timing, the musicality, the acting and the enormous stage presence. Misha OWNS this one!
❤❤❤
Baryshnikov, la perfección técnica y la gracia suprema...
Baryshnikov number one!
Baryshnikov simplemente perfecto maravilloso fue y será el mejor de todos los tiempos
❤❤❤
Misha wiped the floor with the others.
Baryshnikov Super!!
Barishnikov No contest the others come low down by comparison
It's always Misha. He has humor, intwllect, soul. Misha is a Mensch. The others are juat doing fancy steps.
Misha, Misha et Misha
This isn't just about technique, but also comic timing... which Misha has and the others don't. It's also a variation which, if you're going to do it, you better dazzle the audience because anything less than that is kind of a 'fail.'
true
I know people crank about Acosta, but at least his personality comes through.
I know it's Misha>everyone else, but I did enjoy Acosta too.
Baryshnikov. Expressiveness, fantastic technique, audacity, lightness of the dance, as if nothing was easier at all. Unpleasantly surprised by Julio Bocca. He is Argentinean, should be an expressive vivid image, but emotionality is not felt, there is no image.
Barisinikov!!! the one.
Of course, Misha is the best in this variation, energy, charisma, acting talent... but I am personally grateful to the other dancers for trying to preserve this interpretation of Basil and the choreography
The great difference as in each artistic or artistic sports discipline is the SUBLIMATION OF NATURE with which Misha presents the dance, be it dance and any other.
His natural talent makes him fly at least as high as the most, but jumping is relatively simple, the difficult thing is to LAND. And Baryshnikov does it SLOW MOTION while any other dancer collapses almost at fall. Mickhail tells you in the air WHERE it will fall, HOW it will fall and BECAUSE it will fall Right there. It seems as if I dictate to you, every movement. Each position IS WHAT IT IS AND CANNOT BE ANOTHER. Unless he wants it to be another. Because he does WHAT HE WINS, with ease, beauty, aesthetics, class and cleanliness like no one has ever danced or danced. It is simply PERFECT.
Síiii! Excelente comentario!!!
❤❤❤
GOD
baryishnikov is still no,1 as far as im concerned, he dances without ever looking like its an effort and comic timing is incredible doesnt need to throw his legs all over the place just for effect, I wouldnt say Carlos is awful as he has very good facial expressions and looks more natural than some of the others but no comparison to Baeyishnikov
Just love the audience @ 0:11 . Shock and Awe!
Yes, that audible gasp! No matter how many times I see it, it's just as mind-blowing. Baryshnikov is the greatest.
Baryshnikov wins hands down!!!
Baryshnikov forgot Newton's law of universal gravitation!
Yes, any higher and he would've gone into orbit!
❤❤❤
Misha 😍 the best!
Baryshnikov el mejor. Le sigue Acosta que tambièn es fabuloso y cuya coda de La Bayadera es lo màximo. Làstima que B. creo no bailò La B. para comparar
Baryshnikov makes the others look like amateurs.
not rly but ok
No. Absolutely not.
No....
@@chiaraanastasi390, Das sieht sogar ein Laie 😅.
Баришников очень 👍 👍 👍 ❤❤❤
The Alpha and Omega of Mic -Drops @1:00 !!
Magnifico magnifico
Apparently he invented "Drop the mike"
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness. - Oscar Wilde.
Artista extraordinario. Expresivo; livianito para ejecutar cada movimiento que hace parecer muy facil.
Mi profunda admiracion a su bella persona.
It's kind of a bummer that ABT took this variation out of their production of Don Q, I'd like to see Simkin and would have liked to Cirio do it. Cirio is gone to ENB, alas.
I think it was a condition of Misha's, that he would let ABT keep the ballet but minus the cups variation.
I know from your other uploads that you didn't post this with the idea of a "contest" in mind, but I have to say that Baryshnikov beats the others hand down ;D
+alex ingresss baryshnikov would be a superstar also nowadays ,but also bocca does a great solo ,acosta imo has not the needed lightness joseph is an all respect technician and in all his solos does all the tricks baryshnikov did (more or less)
+pediatrapaola Bocca is a very good technician, but so hell bent on hard-selling, that all the wit, the nonchalance and easy elegance are gone from his solo. Acosta is heavy and off shape, he lost much of his form after he turned 30. Phillips is ok, but the tempo is very slow.
Thanks for this! Misha reigns in all respects. Bocca dazzles but as you say it's a hard sell! Both Acosta and Phillips look bulky and earthbound.
Misha Julio nothing beats them
Misha...❤️❤️❤️
I am sorry I have to say it has certainly coming down from Baryshnikov’s most charming one to the last one, which almost a flop.
Misha and bocca👑
Tutti bravissimi ma Baryshnikov è inarrivabile
Rolando Ornatelli E’ già in confronto gli altri sembrano principianti impacciati
D'ACCORDISSIMO
Julio bocca como siempre virtuosismo musicalidad y perfeccion.
Son la perfección, los dos
Baryshnikov: totally in his prime here and so superior to any other dancer. Bocca was sloppy; Acosta, boring. And the others were very uninspiring.
Starts with a B and has more than 5 letters
Geniales 👍 maravillosos únicos 👍👋👋👌👌🙏🕊️
Speechless!
Thank you very much for this wonderful video. But who is the fifth dancer?
Navarre Brixen Thank you, I supposed that's him again but was not sure.:))
+Navarre Brixen l saw him years ago here in italy in spoleto he did a good don q in baryshnikov style ,he is not misha but is a strong dancer and imo deserved more in ABT now was the first american dancer to defect to siberia lol imo he was right probabily earns more and is free to guest in japan (very close ) where strong virtuosos are appreciated
So both 4 and 5 are Phillips? They look really different.
The 3rd guy. Its that Acosta? He was terrible. Same with the others after him. They look so amateurish. Awkward and sloppy. Maybe its unfair to see the best in the world 1st..Mikhail was perfection in his performance and comical timing😉
I have Acosta's Don Q on DVD (he dances with Nela Nunez) and have to admit the whole scene in the bar is flat. The section where he "dies" is always played for laughs, and it's like they never really got past blocking when they rehearsed. (Nela is, of course, spectacular).
Recordais la pelicula PASO DECISIVO?
Es una ópera mui larga El kijote
Quien es el de 2009?
Bocca's ending👎wasn't in timing with the music.
IMO, he's always been a very sloppy dancer.
