The apolitical realpolitik demonstrated in this map is the foundation that all of the videos on this channel have been built on.
    Thanks again!

These videos are always so interesting, I look forward to each one but appreciate you need a good period between them for changes to happen. Really makes you realise how much is going on round the world that the general news has lost interest in.

Can you make it possible to see older versions of the map on the map's website?
Maybe with an explanation of the various changes with every new version.

In the meantime you can use the Wayback Machine

Once I have worked out the kinks of making the map fully interactive (interactive is only beta at the moment and still has some issues), creating an archive of past changes is the one of the next thing I’d like to do.
Bear in mind that many aspects of the map have been updated over the last few years (including more detailed geography, updated labels based on new information, adding missing islands, etc.), so for example just posting the old files from 2020 wouldn’t really work.
For now, your best bet is to check out the Apolitical World Map playlist, which contains all of the 6-month update videos, documenting most of the changes since June 2020.
Thanks so much for watching and for your interest in this project!

Great video but I was wondering what music do you use?

The music I’ve used for the last several 6-month AWM updates:
      • Nerves, Kevin MacLeod
      • Marche Slave, Pyotr Tchaikovsky
      • Kaisermarsch, Richard Wagner
      Thanks so much for watching!

When will it be updated on the website?

Just a suggestion for the next update, considering the permanent civilian population of Esperanza Base in Antarctica should that be included under Argentina’s control?

I actually did a video explaining why Antarctic bases (as well as the South Sandwich Islands) aren’t shown, check it out:

The Russian-occupied parts of Mykolaiv Oblast were actually integrated into the Russian occupation administration in Kherson Oblast back in August, so you guys are kinda late on that one.

Yes that’s correct; back in December I wasn’t exactly sure how I wanted to list it - mainly because I wasn’t exactly sure how serious Russia was about amalgamating Mykolayiv Oblast territory to Kherson in very arbitrary fashion based solely on the then-current frontlines in August/September 2022 (which had changed even by the time of that December update).
However it’s since become clear that Russia is going so far as to claim to have held referendums in these areas, so Russian law does view these areas as part of Kherson and the Russian Federation proper.
Of course, in just the days since this video came out, the Kinburn Spit has now been cut off by the Dniepr flood waters from the busted dam. Russia has reportedly been forced to evacuate, so this may become a moot point in the near future.
Thanks so much for watching and thanks for the comment!
