Takes time to get rid of the indoctrination, but you are correct in removing the preconceptions and judgmental conditioning of Watchtower, but it does bring a wonderful feeling of freedom of mind and soul, lovely to hear from you again, very helpful for many now coming out of the cult, well done!........👍

Great to hear from you again Tammy. I love your positive attitude. As to not judging, that has been the key to my marriage . Mar and I were married in the Kingdom hall in 1969. She was my prom date. I was 4th generation, she was 3rd. After I left in 1980 she stayed in and we did fight like hell! However we did love each other and took our marriage vows seriously. Actually Marilyn taught me to not judge. We agreed to let Jesus for me, Jehovah for her, do all the judging.
As a result we raised 3 kids 2 are Christian, one is a new age. None are JW'S. We just celebrated (since witnesses do that) 52 yrs of marriage. I do love your positive attitude and am very happy you now have a great life.

Your video give me so much strength now. We are leaving the organization because we find something, but the fear of shunning and to called as an apostate by our jw friends keeps bothering me. This video helps me a lot. And me and my parents done having a conversation with the elders in our congregation, but they insist of having another zoom meeting with them, so we agreed as a last request of them but our choice is final.
    Thanks a lot.

I am approaching a year upon my waking up/fading. And looking at the initial fear and trembling that I had about the elders and the friends finding out about my continued research online, I now see how foolish it was for me to think that I owed anyone an explanation or even had to answer any questions on suspicion or gossip at all. As a single grown person and within the 4 walls of my home, why give these suit wearing fellows who don't pay my bills the creditability to zoom conference me council me over a camera in my own home? Of course, it is the training of JWs and the command of obedience and loyalty that gave them that power. But the longer we stayed out of the hall which allowed them to carry more weight in the supposed house of Jehovah, the weaker their power becomes in the privacy of your own home and over a camera. So I guess mine would fall under, have no fear and you don't have to discuss, volunteer or answer anything from imperfect, controlled humans who can't give you life in the end.

It's been so long since I faded I'm not sure what I might say to myself 🤔 (stopped going to meetings in 1978 at age 14)
One thing I would say is to be aware that you've been conditioned to think about things in a certain way and even though you have rejected the organization that conditioning will continue to affect the decisions you will make going forward in life.
    Thanks for sharing

Thank you so much for sharing yourself so generously. Many of us don't have someone in our lives who knows what it was like, who speaks from that awareness. And you're so easy to listen to !
What I would tell myself is, "Get help. Real professional help." When I left over 30 years ago, there was very little help around what happens to people when they have been thinking in a cult pattern. And I remember the moment perfectly when I realized I was running a cult pattern, like software, in my brain. At that time, I knew it was bad but I still wanted the 'good' part - family, people I thought were friends.
I was trying to convince myself that I was strong enough to manage all those levels of stress on my own , so it took a long time before I could sort out the ineffective patterns I had been living with. There is so much good, useful mental health available now, especially around trauma, that most people can find a modality that is attractive.
It seems to me that the cult pattern of thinking (I didn't say 'it's a cult '. I said 'cult pattern of thinking' ) is much more deeply entrenched in the organization than it was in the past. Anyone coming out now has had less practice of independence in their thought processes, so getting a pleasant amount of help would be very supportive. It takes some searching to find a professional who understands what the cult pattern of thinking does to mental processes, but just a bit of help goes a long way.
Again, thanks for sharing yourself. I watch your offerings more than once so RUclips isn't telling you what's accurate about how valuable your sharing is. Lots of love, Ann.

I’ve been watching your videos and I know this is your latest one and I can really tell that you’re finally getting set free! I faded probably eight years ago I was in that religion for almost 40 years I was an elder and I just couldn’t take it anymore and after doing a lot of research it wasn’t difficult for me I was very confident in my decision and just as you said I have friends now that are truly good friends with unconditional love! Which is just the opposite of the J dubs in fact there are several friends that have told me if I don’t go back to the meetings I don’t want anything to do with me and I just let them know that’s fine that’s your decision but I will tell you this I’m not going back well then we don’t want anything to do with you I mean that is terrible! Jesus had unconditional love the J dubs have conditional love and it’s very very ugly so hang in there enjoy your freedom which I have done I’ve got good friends and even some of the J dubs that I do still wanna do things with me go out to breakfast go out to lunch which is fine and they understand how I feel which is beautiful but there’s only a few that feel that way so continue I can tell a difference and I’m happy for you! See that’s the problem they teach with fear and that’s what a lot of people go through I have several other friends that have faded and it was hard for them because of that fear oh no now I’m I’m fighting against Jehovah that’s not true it’s it’s not the truth they have flip-flopped the governing body are hypocrites they have a huge problem with pedophiles and because of the two witnesses rule they’re protected well there’s never two witnesses to childless molestation so it blows my mind we adopted a girl when she was three years old who had been molested and I’m the one that discovered it one night giving her a bath so I brought my wife in and she said we need to call no the police and after a three-year battle it was finally over but she is 40 years old now and I can tell it’s still bothered her but anyway enjoy your video thank you I’ll stop rambling on now

Congratulations on your 14th year out , I,m celebrating my 4th 2018 aged 57. I love your videos Trudy I started watching you in 2017 and found you so much nicer to watch than Steven Lett evil clown or Tony Morris sumo wrestler who speak to jws like their little children . In 2018 I remember bumping into a Bible study of a pioneer sister and I witnessed to her about why she should NOT get baptised because of basically all the truths I,d learnt from apostate videos. The very next day I bumped into the Pioneer sister and she said to me , Oh Justin your just the person I wanted to talk too, Mary my bible study said you,'ve gone apostate and were putting down the truth. No I said, I love the truth and maybe I was down and speaking negatively about life not the organization, your Bible study just misunderstood me. Why would she say that Justin ? She gave me the benefit of the doubt. I also visited all my return visits and told them Jehovah's Witnesses are wrong so I dissociated before they dissfellowshipped me it was only a matter of time before they hauled me into a judicial committee . @Living_Truth I love how you speak to your former self in this process. It makes so much sense. It even helps us in the present time. It even heals the past. 💗
I followed my passion and learned to ballroom dance. Dancing was everything. That's how I made new "worldly" friends. I didn't see them as worldly. I saw them as dancers. Based on how you said it, I'd say that helped me avoid the thinking that they're "worldly" because we had dancing in common. They were nice people and they accepted me. That made it easy to accept their friendship.

I was always told that right after you get baptized the demons are going to really go after you because they don't want you to be part of Jehovah's organization. I was more afraid of them being in the organization than I was of being out of it. Because they made it seem like they were going to do an all-out assault on me to keep me from being a Jehovah's Witness.

    • @LivingTruth1
      @LivingTruth1  2 года назад +2

I remember being told that as well-- once you're baptized, satan and his demons are going to try everything to get you out. And if you become spiritually weak, even more reason to be on alert to their attacks.
Just reading this is so bizarre to think this is what I used to think.

Btw, the name calling "apostate" is the strongest weaponizing word that the org has scared and trained their members to shut down and use against anyone questioning or speaking logic about their controlling theology. Good advice to research the examples and meaning of the word so that you learn to leave certain vocabulary in that bullying community and not carry that weight in your journey to press on to real truth and thrive.

The point I would make is I really didn’t appreciate how brain washed I was. It will take time to, if you like, reprogram or rethink your mind. It dropped from me bit by bit,at first if any religion’s right it’s the witnesses, to I think their right on this but not that. Eventually you start to see the jw’s for what they are a controlling cult. A word of warning would be, be careful you don’t jump straight into another faith. Give yourself time what’s the rush like I said you need to reprogram, rethink yourself. The witnesses taught you that what you think and what you want are not important, only what the watchtower says is important. That’s not true what do you want your life to be. So take your time, do you need to believe in God if you do does that have to be through religion. Trust me you’ll be okay if you listen to your inner self and take time to find yourself.❤️

Knowing Christ is knowing “the truth” because he IS the truth. WT doesn’t want JW’s to know him and have a relationship with him because then you’re set free and no longer enslaved to WT rules and dead works that drain JW’s of their happiness, security, families , money and ultimately their salvation

If I could go back I would tell me all the biblically arguments how witnesses screwing up the Bible.
For instance, we are not under any law and especially not theirs, not even under God’s law. Galatians 5:18
“Furthermore, if YOU are being led by spirit, YOU are not under law.”
Of cause, if you are without spirit, you definitely need law.
Furthermore we are not even commanded to love God. If we were it wouldn’t be unconditionally. You talked about unconditionally love, here it is. Read Galatians 5:14
“For the entire Law stands fulfilled in one saying, namely: “You must love your neighbor as yourself.””
We are supposed to FULFILLING the law, not continuing it.
For a start, going 50 years back, I would ask myself about their obsession of how Abraham is supposed to live on the earth. I would have confronted myself with Matthew 8:11, Hebrews 11:8,13,16.
I was a JW for many years because I believed that reading the Bible for them meant reading the Bible. What a bunch of liars and hypocrites they are.
Am I angry at them? Not at all. I think they are my culturally background just the same way as if I had been a catholic, jew or whatever. I’m a king in my own life and not supposed to be in any denomination. Revelation 1:6.
You are a truly kind person. God bless you.
