For the price of the cameras, they could have graded the edges so people could quickly back onto the crossing & out of harm's den. Difficult to place barriers here since trains would rearrange them if they were an effective height. We all know people don't read signs so why waste dollars there. Especially at 2:30 am. The other other solution I can conjure is have the gates go down across the tracks when the roadway is clear & across the roadway when a train is acomin'.
A slope between the tracks on either side to facilitate escape: probably $200-$1000 Cost of towing, police presence, temporarily altering the freight and passenger services: probably $5000-$20000 A compilation of all these incidents: Priceless
Said it before and I'll say it again. When the car gates are up, there should be gates down on the rails. When the train approaches, they should swap. Road down, tracks up...
Nah, people all over the world can navigate rail crossings like this without issue, and have done so for a century. This is someone who should not be driving. I shudder to think how much attention they would have for pedestrians and cyclists.
I have a bag of super spicy chips. I eat a chip every time a car drives on the tracks in Ashland or anywhere. Just to help with the cringe. I might need a new bag.
A short ramp between the tracks would give the idiots a fighting chance to extricate themselves from their stupidity. Watching that might add to our enjoyment. BTW, does anyone ever go off-track (or on-track) in the opposite direction. It always seems to be towards Richmond. Loved the music! Reminiscent of the Keystone Cops.
I love that piano! Sounds kind of like the music played during the silent movie era. I was expecting Charlie Chaplin or Buster Keaton to make an appearance. Just saying. Have a great weekend everyone
"This mustang payment is so much more than I thought it would be.. but how can I get out of it? Oh, I know!" "Drat! Someone called the cops, well I'd better play it off as I didn't realize..."
The Ashland Rail crossing is same as the Low Bridge Rail Bridge, RUclips Channel… “Suggestion: Virtual Railfan should have a “Rail crossing bloopers reel” Channel (SFW) of course. Just saying?
What is wrong with these people? There is usually a sign designating how many tracks there are, for this reason: people may only visually see one track there at night, turning too soon.
they could fix this so easily to allow drivers that make this mistake to back up onto the road again; two guys with shovels and a pickup-bed full of dirt could make a temporary fix in an hour or two, and an asphalt truck and crew could do a permanent fix in very little more time. It's funny and all that we have these amusing videos, but it must cost the railroad every time this happens when they have to shut the line down for miles around or worse when they actually hit a car (not that they have to pay for the car, but the shutdown is surely longer when that happens; emergency breaking sometimes damages cargo as well)
There should be some "In the road flashing red lights" indicating the road is straight and no turns so that people can judge it well at night. people mistake the in-between space of tracks as the road at night. One can even set up the road blocker in a 90-degree position (vertical). This will block people from turning left or right. When the train is about to arrive, the normal horizontal roadblock comes down, and using the same mechanism, the vertical roadblock goes up... allowing clear passage for the train.
I thought you reuploaded one of the previous ones. Then I saw the car and then my first thought was, “it’s another one!” They should also build a ramp at 1:03 so if an idiot does do that, they can get out.
Only in Ashland! What is it about Ashland and driving on to railroad tracks at 2:45 in the morning? Well, there goes a couple hundred bucks. I wonder if the tow truck driver waits just out of view for some sucker to come along.
Not only the drivers are stupit, this railcrossing is too. The white arrows indicates, this is the one side of the road, so the other side must be beside them. And why they don’t just built little ramps, so everybody can drive back on the road by itself?
After watching a series of videos of cars driving onto the tracks at this crossing, I’ve decided I’ll never drive to Ashland! The tow trucks must have lots of regular income from this car trap!!
4 videos of this RxR area with a car just, driving off the tracks... What is going on with this area? Are most of the people in this town affect by a recreational substance?
He came from a bar and had a few to much. He went back home and on the radio was the Albert Hammond song "I'm a Train" and he thought that ain't a bad idea, i'll be home sooner then.....
something really really strange is happening on that railcross. I saw a lot of videos in wich nobody could understand how things like those could happend to those cars.
Whoever decided to set up cameras in Ashland was an absolute genius.
Ashland just has more characters than you find in most places. And many drive cars!
It looks like it's full of f'n idiots.
those are actually the 'Virtual Rail' cameras set up around the world for train enthusiasts to watch trains go by.

Good, that person needs to replace whichever dunce designed this intersection.
Cops dont need to setup dwi checkpoints just park by the tracks and wait.
Stefan w 😂
Yes. There is something in the water in Ashland, VA. Scotch.
Moonshine... Scotch is too refined for these people.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😊❤️

ok this driver didn't even TRY to turn, he just drove straight off.
From the creators who brought you 11’ 8”...
You're well on your way to getting comment of the year.
Now the 12'4
I'm pretty sure at this point the police have the number for CSX on speed dial or should have a "batphone" line directly to CSX.
So true!
TrackPhone
IMHO 911 dispatchers everywhere should have that.
i wouldn't bank on it
Should have a railroad radio (ht) and make whoever works the beat where that intersection is keep it in their car.
Said it before and I'll say it again. When the car gates are up, there should be gates down on the rails. When the train approaches, they should swap. Road down, tracks up...
Peter Jensen like the old British rail crossings!
Nah, people all over the world can navigate rail crossings like this without issue, and have done so for a century.
This is someone who should not be driving. I shudder to think how much attention they would have for pedestrians and cyclists.
2am, almost 3 am, probably came from a bar.
last call was at 1am!
He thought he was a train
😂😂😂😂😂exactly !
I just enjoy it when people think the railroad is a actual road. LOL 😂!!!!!
I have a bag of super spicy chips. I eat a chip every time a car drives on the tracks in Ashland or anywhere. Just to help with the cringe. I might need a new bag.
Bradley Bulger same here only with a juul
i take a swig of Malort.

A normal day for the residents of Ashland, Virginia:
John: OH GOD JEFF THERE’S A CAR ON THE TRACKS!
Jeff: another one?
Jeff: here we go again..
I love that piano! Sounds kind of like the music played during the silent movie era. I was expecting Charlie Chaplin or Buster Keaton to make an appearance. Just saying. Have a great weekend everyone
Where's a train, when you need one?
Are people doing this on *purpose* ?
Yes!
It's the local pasttime ;-)
They don't have cable....
You would think that, but, alcohol does strange things to people.
Apparently it's really fun to give your money to towing companies there.
Of course, it's Ashland
Alcohol induced driving - or, perhaps texting while driving? Must have been a hefty towing bill.
"This mustang payment is so much more than I thought it would be.. but how can I get out of it? Oh, I know!" "Drat! Someone called the cops, well I'd better play it off as I didn't realize..."
Tow Vehicle operator and mates are on The Township Board. Constantly Successfully blocks any motions to help prevent such occurrences.
Ima train...chooo choooo!!! With all that light he had on, he still couldn’t see where he was going? LOL
The Ashland Rail crossing is same as the Low Bridge Rail Bridge, RUclips Channel… “Suggestion: Virtual Railfan should have a “Rail crossing bloopers reel” Channel (SFW) of course. Just saying?
Oh yes!!!! That needs to happen PRONTO!
Why don't they put a barrier or fence between the two tracks?
I have some popcorn, some drinks, and a juul and every time see something like this I can’t help but eat, drink, smoke and laugh
The towing company must make lots of money of this
this is the railroad version of the 11'8" bridge channel.
What is wrong with these people? There is usually a sign designating how many tracks there are, for this reason: people may only visually see one track there at night, turning too soon.
Not even a once where the train goes off, on to the road. I wonder. Do ya think it'll......nah.
Just keep trying Ashland. We're pulling for ya
Good grief... and he kept going too.
Never gets old
Love the music.
The Tow Truck Driver FINALLY gets to pick up a car! 🥳 👏😂
🤦♂️ at least the tow truck didn't get stuck
This level crossing is the bread and butter of that channel : P
I love the DUI
Thanks, I needed a chuckle today
There’s a bar and restaurant right down the street...
I think we found the cause for all this
He Charged the tracks. Glad he Dodged the train.

Hmm, it's so freaky to see how people calling police and evacuator for every issue, instead of turn on their brains.
Whoever decided to build a railroad crossing in Ashland was an absolute genius.
Towing industry has to make a fortune in that town
Bet those tow truck drivers make a fortune!
Yay! Our favorite spot :D
The car looks like it could be a Ford Mustang? 🏇🏼
I keep thinkin' "bring on the train." Just kidding.
How many times that happen in a year in Ashland?
probably 365 times
@@angora34 more i think. Saw a video on another channel it happened 2 times the 27 November 2016 33 minuts apart
He just wanted to ride the rails...

who let this guy own a mustang
LOL he was about to get a taste of some real ponies....more than he ever imagined.
What is it wet with Ashland and cars on the track
What they really need is gates across the tracks which only open when a train is approaching
How many times times this happen. It really must be pissing off CSX
What was that person thinking of? Lol.😁😁😁 although it's looks hilarious buy very, very dangerous to do. He must have been crazy or high of something.
Is there a bar close bye??? I could see people who didn’t live there doing this but not residents, unless they were leaving the bar.!!!
I thought you reuploaded one of the previous ones. Then I saw the car and then my first thought was, “it’s another one!” They should also build a ramp at 1:03 so if an idiot does do that, they can get out.

wonder where
I’m baffled by how people can seriously look at that and think it’s a road
hmmm, im thinking somewhere in Virginia..
I’m sure he had nothing to drink from any of those delicious breweries in the neighborhood.....
Not only the drivers are stupit, this railcrossing is too. The white arrows indicates, this is the one side of the road, so the other side must be beside them.
And why they don’t just built little ramps, so everybody can drive back on the road by itself?
Has nobody thought to use crossing gates that swing sideways instead of up? So they're across the tracks when they're not across the road?
if Ashland were to be in the world records, it would be most railroad incidents of the year.
After watching a series of videos of cars driving onto the tracks at this crossing, I’ve decided I’ll never drive to Ashland! The tow trucks must have lots of regular income from this car trap!!
We have side fences & boom gates on all suburban, city & town railway lines here... Not the case in rural areas though.
Why does this always happen in Ashland
That mistake is going to cost him a lot of $$$
A guy operating a tow truck could have an entire career at this one location...
ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!? THIS IS THE 9TH TIME IN ASHLAND THIS IS THE FINAL STRAW DX
Does Ashland have a lot of Pub's ?
Tow truck driver in Ashland, VA = guaranteed to make a good living for the rest of his life, lol
Like how long have they lived there?? Don't they know that intersection by now????!
Lord have mercy. Put a stop light in
4 videos of this RxR area with a car just, driving off the tracks... What is going on with this area? Are most of the people in this town affect by a recreational substance?
Awareness problem.
Or excess C2H5OH.
I would've used some of the gravel to make a kind of makeshift ramp at the end.
Am I mistaken or if he even crossed the tracks he was not allowed to make a right hand turn?
so Ashland supercut when?
He came from a bar and had a few to much. He went back home and on the radio was the Albert Hammond song "I'm a Train" and he thought that ain't a bad idea, i'll be home sooner then.....
I swear, they have a tow truck on standby for just this situation.
They said I could be anything, so I tried to be a train. They were wrong.
something really really strange is happening on that railcross. I saw a lot of videos in wich nobody could understand how things like those could happend to those cars.
Happy Hour strikes again. Where's a train when you really need one?
Nice video and Lovely mucis 🇮🇳
Ashland
I'm just curious, how many times has this happened here?
Ashland I'm guessing?
Hmmm. Not the water, but judging from the hour, perhaps the brew.
Night blindness or just airheaded?
Did the driver leave with the officers or the tow truck driver?
Is it at Ashland again
Does he get a ticket at the end? Why do they all not stop immediately but keep driving straight?
They should add taper on both side of road, where there is crossing so that even a car goes in it can easily come out
I want to see how the track looks from the car? How come driver does not understand the difference between a road and a railway track?
Where was he trying to go in the first place??
How much does it cost someone to get their car off those tracks?
he is/was heading to or from a bar lets assume. im sure he did after that
