Susan, I'm half way thru these Free Form vids, and I want to thank you, as always, for your great words of wisdom! I love that you are often in the same boat with the rest of us. "Where do I take this from here, what am I doing, OMG, this sucks!" But keep going and quit doubting and HAVE A GOOD TIME! I retired two years ago, and the best thing of all, is I don't have to answer to anyone else! Now, I'm my own creator, and can step outta the perfection box! I'm looking foreword to the two follow up tutes of this one! I always love your words of wisdom! Thank you.
I love this so much. I am going to try and do something like it with my one left hand. This is very pretty. I want one like it on my wall. Tank you Susan for creating this is is so beautiful. Thank you, Judy
I’m new to slow stitching & fabric art in general. I’ve been looking for a channel to teach me some techniques & terms & your videos are perfect!! TFS ❤️😁
I love your approach and your just because philosophy, thank you so much for the reminder to just enjoy what you do with your art, you are very inspiring 🤗
Hello Susan its great to see you and your wonderful work again your videos are GREAT and so much fun your way of working is so naturali love it THANKYOU ❤❤
Ive been saving all my thread and fibre bits to make the cool cordage that I've see you make. Now I know how Im gonna use it! Thanks for doing these videos! You make me a better artist!
I usually watch RUclips on my TV so I decided to pop on my phone to comment. This is a stunning piece of art and I'm so glad this came up on my feed. I also wanted to say thank you for saying that our art is our own. As soon as I hear the person doing the tutorial say "you're going to " ... well let's just say I don't go back to their channel. I think your textiles would be beautiful journal covers!
I wholeheartedly agree with you….. i realized i would become paralyzed by two things……. too much inspiration….. and perfectionism. Once i gave myself permission to just play and have fun, its been a whole new adventure…. Just because
Susan I have never done this kind of freestyle art before but I would like to try it. I have some pieces of plain muslin fabric that I want to dye. You mentioned using blue paint and water and that sounds good to me to start. What kind of paint do you recommend and does the fabric need to be washed first to remove any sizing? I do not have any distressing inks but I do have a good variety of floss, threads, yarns and ribbons. I have always wanted to try painting on fabric. I enjoyed this video.
"Do art your way...just because." I agree! Thank you for this

This reminds me of villages and paths to each village. The big green spots at the top remind me of forests. Like a map sort of.

I’m very good at complicating things too 😂.
So easy to do isn’t it?
Speaking of supplies, what would you recommend as a Get Started Kit to create something like you have here?
@@SusanTaylorBrown Thanks!!!

TITLE suggestion: Navigating Life My Way or simply Navigating Life
You could just use fabric-glue on a paintbrush on the frinches but let them stay where they are.....not fold them to the back.!
Has anyone else called you ‘soulmate’ lately…Kath
