  • Cas Holmes is a renowned textile artist whose creative process and vision continue to inspire and delight worldwide.
    With her distinct and innovative approach to textile art, Cas combines different materials and techniques, including collage, painting, and stitch. She embraces the concept of storytelling through her work, using found objects, fragments of old textiles, paper and personal mementos. She creates evocative pieces often incorporating elements of nature and of her surrounding environment triggering an emotional response. Cas's artistic practice is focused on the final outcome and the process itself, as she finds joy in experimenting and allowing the materials to guide her.
    Cas Holmes shares her knowledge through her workshops, books, and exhibitions and encourages others to embark on their own creative journeys.

    Dear Cas, I do love your work so much. I also love your philosophies of life. You come across as an extremely positive, determined and strong person. I too don’t care if others like my work, or not! My art fills me with every stitch, brush stroke, and the noise of ripping cloth. It’s all music to my ears and heart, as it seems, yours is to you too. Stay happy , healthy and creative so that we all can enjoy a lot more of you work. Thank you so much! ❤️🤗

    as i am sitting here this saturday morning after having my cup of coffee, i am taking in this lovely creative sister, i am connecting with her experience in the creative world, for i too am a contributor to the art of creativity. i thought about my journey of then to now. i dipped my toe into various forms of creation. Performing art (i was an actress, singer, director, playwright, producer. i produced my own play back in 2007), visual art (i did a lot of coloring after being challenged to start coloring in an adult coloring book given to me by a visiting interior designer who did a "lunch and learn" session with our interiors department at the architecture design firm where i worked at here in atlanta. i'm now retired. since then, i made several colorings books of my collected works using pencil and gel pens and markers. then created my own coloring designs) which led me to where i am now. i am a creative designer of canvas tote bags and accessories. This journey of bag creating led me to sewing which i learned back in high school and never went back to untill now. and i am truly loving it because it is taking my journey to another level in my life. so yes, i can connect with Cas. she made me realize, that your creative life is a constant journey of discovery within yourself. a journey of challenges and mastering all the wonderful and amazing things you can create. it's a beautiful thing!

My spouse has been disabled for 37 years of our 44 yr relationship and I am the caregiver. He changes how I perceive my daily life, everyday is different and it all depends on his abilities that day. Thank you so much for speaking of your childhood, your art education and the change in your daily life. Stay strong and do things that make you happy every single day. Sadly the days when teachers were allowed to give children space to find their own way has been replaced with standardized curriculum with no regard for independent thinking and guided learning experiences based on the intersts skills and abilities of the student. Its no wonder children hate school.

    • @CasHolmestextiles
      @CasHolmestextiles 7 месяцев назад +2

      It is so important for children to lean 'how to learn'.

    • @jukerdanz
      @jukerdanz Месяц назад +1

      This is a really unhelpful attitude. Claiming that teachers have ‘no regard for independent thinking’ is simply wrong. Children don’t all hate school. Standardised testing was imposed on schools and teachers have had to respond to that but they also mostly care deeply about children learning and discovering how to learn and explore their own interests.
