So Hatch gets screwed - he’s the one that’s been campaigning for a new series, for years, kept it alive -
and then they reward him with the best role of his career.
He was phenomenal as Tom Zarek.
I love that scene at 0:59 it’s a good way of showing how politically savvy she is. She took a question and turned it into a photo op.
As a Sagittarius, I hate that Zarek was our Quorum representative
I wished they showed more of the aspects of the politics of BG. For example, what would have happened if President Laura Roslin tried to relieve Admiral Cain of her command? As senior officer, Cain would relieve Adama as Fleet Commander. But what if Cain refused to accept Roslin's authority? Would the Pegasus crew stand by Cain? Or would the Pegasus crew accept civilian control of the military?
That's an interesting question. The crew of Pegasus would most likely stand by Cain. The Pegasus crew was loyal to Cain almost to a fault. Had Roslin tried to relieve Cain, the crew of Pegasus would refuse the order and Cain would most likely remove Roslin as President and declare martial law. Basically we would have a repeat of the Kobol story arc where Adama tried to do the same. The difference this time is Galactica would probably try to defend the president resulting in a battle between the two battlestars.
Cain's plans seemed to be whack Adama, install someone loyal, and probably declare Roslin to be illegitimate. Still, she backed off on assassinating Adama so that's one point in her favor.
Admiral Cain gave me the impression that she didn’t acknowledge or respect Roslin as President. I’m pretty sure Cain wouldn’t have followed a direct order from Roslin. For all of Cain’s talks of having authority through military regulations, Roslin is the Commander-in-Chief by law (she agreed military decisions would stay with Adama but did Cain know that?). Cain’s way was “might is right”.
@@Avalanche041 I'd say it was a LOT more than "almost" to a fault. They stayed loyal to her after she murdered an insubordinate officer on the bridge with a sidearm, with no trial and without even warning anyone.
Cain considered herself to be on detached service, meaning she’s not under the jurisdiction of the civilian government. Roslin attempting to relieve her of duty would have resulted in Cain continuing to ignore her calls at best, and at worst resulted in an actual shooting war between Pegasus and the fleet.
I am thinking, if Zarek was elected and Roslin assassinated, there would be great turmoil since Zarek and Adama would be in constant conflict. This kind of story could be really breathtaking.
Yeah and Adama probably could have found evidence that Zarek did it. If Zarek came to power legitimately, I wonder how exactly things would have gone with Adama and him.
If he was alive when Cain returned he would have been executed.
"Playa is not wearing any underwear..." LOL
Tricia is just too beautiful
Beautiful and super talented, considering this was her first big role
Well, auto-caption is better than nothing? (i seriously cannot hear Gaius & Six!)
Also: How very telling that Zarek is Saggitron! The Virgon's words about [them] getting the job done before Rosalin could return a phone call, really illustrate the plot of the elitists getting away w/ cheap labor.
i forgot Gaius was asleep! 😄That made me lol!😂😂 i miss this show SO MUCH!!! i think i'll binge it for "Thanksgiving". (Also the first day of Sagittarius♐ season! ) ~💞
Caprica is so beautiful, it't not fair!
That stare
I can rewatch em. Lol!
