Never paint interior of crankcase. Its 2 stroke, gas+oil mix dissolves the paint which cause engine problems and potentially seizure of engine.
I spent many hours operating a Ponjour in the 1960s. Both as a rock drill and jack hammer, it worked well but, it was heavy. Nice job. Good Luck, Rick

personaly i wouldent have pained the crank case
2 Questions, firstly are you sure that machine is not stolen as it looked like it had been carefully positioned and covered with sheeting (stashed as it's colloquially known), and secondly did you have permission to enter the property and remove the machine as your actions come across as very furtive as if you were stealing it from a private property.
And did you brush your teeth and pack a handkerchief?
Stealing a very old and rusty machine? Would you be tempted to do that?
