What started out as a quick planted nano tank setup for my new betta fish, quickly turned into something awesome. Hey MD, i was browsing some stores online and i saw some killifish you might like. Theyre called yellow korthaus killifish. Im not sure if you can find them over in the uk or not but i figured theyre right up your alley.

Hi love the channel I’m completely new to aquascaping and want to start with a nano tank I haven’t noticed any heater in any of your nano setups how do you keep the water at an adequate temperature?

The best thing about your channel is the focus on non-co2. I am huge fan of low cost low maintenance stuff, and you bring to us just that.
I love that the fish store has the betta in an actual tank! Most of the stores in the USA keep them in these tiny (actual) cups. I wish more stores kept fewer betta fish and with better conditions. (ie with an actual heater)
I have my betta in a 5 gallon and the first time I put him in he just ZOOOOMED around so happy.
I am so sad they do that :( my local fish store has them in actual scaped aquariums so I never thought about it 😪
My pet stores are better, but not much better. They have those beanie baby container sized tanks. The fish look extremely depressed, their colours are dull and they lay on the bottom of the tank.
Pretty sure the cups are illegal in Europe
This is a local fish store! Not a chain, most of not all local fish stores look like that!
I just found you because I love Betta fish and goldfish and have just begun dabbling in the world of planted tanks, shrimp, snails and other critters. I love your videos so much! I too have a Koi Betta. But most importantly, you have the prettiest eyelashes I have ever seen! Is no one else mentioning this in the comments??

I just discovered this channel a few days ago. What an absolute gem
I love that the fish place you got him from actually had him in a tank... these places here have them in tiny little cups. My betta is a dark blue and I just had to get him. He was so sassy at the store....I couldn't leave him so he's in my temporary 6 gallon plant nursery. He loves it but I'm building him a 20 gallon home.

I put my betta, Beetlejuice, in a planted 10-gal tank just for him. He loved it and especially loved lying on the plants and the wooden aerator I gave him, enjoying the bubbles. So cute! Your video makes me want another betta. I love seeing bettas in appropriate tanks. Yes, bettas can jump out of even a small opening! What a gorgeous tank and betta!!😍

I had my first tank just set up on Monday. It is without CO2. I wanted to have hair grass but everywhere I read say it need CO2. Seeing your healthy hair grass in the ugly tank makes me feel I should just try it too! Really enjoy your video!

MD - you need long wooden knitting needles, they work GREAT at getting in the nooks and crannies, like spreading the sand in your back corner. I have been using them for all kinds of things, holding plants down, moving small rocks or botanicals, etc.
