  • Fårup Sommerland is a heavily wooded theme park in northern Denmark. This park features 8 different roller coasters, including the brand new Fonix. This compliments all the trees, playgrounds, and water parks quite nicely. But how does it stack up to the country's other theme parks? Find out in this review!

Man, I remember that at first walking to this park back in 2016 I didn’t expected much, but then I was so surprised by the atmosphere and nice employees that I wanted to stay. Small parks like this always warm my heart and needs to be remembered like the bigger ones.

For years, Tivoli Gardens was the only park in Denmark that I heard of. It's great to see that this country has more for thrill seekers like this.

Great review! I know you missed them. But I think Skattejagten and Wild River abselutele deserve a mention as well.
Oh and the Hotel does offer earlie entrance to Falken and Orkanen. Don't remember if it was 30 or 60 minutes before. I belive it is 60:)

Thanks for pointing out the early entry. Didn't see that noted on the website, but that definitely makes it more appealing.

I thoroughly enjoy your reviews, it make me want to travel more! Working 60+ hours/wk as a Sous Chef has to get me something, right?! You have great descriptions, and I always look for the tag "...do I recommend..." "ABSOLUTELY" to add it to the list :)

Fønix is like Lech Coaster but significantly less intense, Orkanen is Deagon Flier, Lynet is nothing but insane, and more! I could never see myself getting board at this amazing place. Also, how can you forget Falken, definitely underated park in an underated country for roller coasters.

So if you don’t have a car and are reliant on public transportation how does entry to this park work? That’s the first I’ve seen of that ticketing method. Super interesting! Great review also

I honestly don't know what happens if you don't have a car. Idlewild is off a highway so you can't walk into that one.

There’s a bus stop by the booths. It’s off the side of where the lines of cars are. But you have to walk by the side of the road to get past the parking lot. I even think there’s a way so you can buy a ticket for the bus and the park in one.

@@jtbowman132 yeah it’s a really good place. It might just be because I haven’t looked hard enough but it seams weird why a five star amusement park isn’t talked about more. Maybe it’s just because it’s too far from Copenhagen. When I searched for it in English the top results was for Bakker and Tivoli. I had a seasonal pass for it up until I was around 15, so it’s one of my favorite places in Denmark.

Like others have mentioned there is a bus stop by the toll booth, and the park does see bus service. Mainly by the Line 200 bus that goes between the holiday town of Blokhus, and the city of Aalborg, which is the largest city in the region. And like others have mentioned, the transit agency "Nordjyllands trafikselskab" offers combo tickets that both give you admission into the park and free travel by bus and train to the park from anywhere in Northern Jutland.
I just wish the park had more frequent bus departures. Danish transit agencies have been hit with several budget cuts, often forced upon them from the federal government, and this regions transit agency has had it especially rough. They also used to have a summer only bus route that covered a ton of tourist attractions in the area, but that got shut down in 2022 as part of the budget cuts.

There are more double loop slides, for example two in Germany and one in Austria as well.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think there are multiple Slides just like Vandkanonen worldwide. Miramar and Kristal Palm Beach are two waterparks in Germany that feature what I believe to be the same kind of slide, just to name to examples.

Ship lines passes is very unpopular in Denmark. Its simply against our culture. Legoland has faced quite a shit storm for introducing it. Most people agree thats its kinda healthy for kids to learn to wait and not thinking that the size of your wallet determines your importance

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  Год назад +1

That's interesting Legoland got a lot of backlash and would explain why it isn't seen elsewhere.

@@CanobieCoaster Yeah. The only way a fastpass could work here in Denmark would be something like having 3 one time skip the line passes included in your park ticket that you could use where you want, but not have the ability to buy any more. Everyone has equal access to it so its up to them to decide how to use the power granted to them.
