    The idea for Toverland came when Jean Gelissen was driving through the area with his kids on a rainy day, looking for something to do. It occurred to him that there was no entertainment for kids in the area that wasn't outdoors, nothing that was friendly to all weather. That's what inspired him to open an indoor FEC. It all grew out of hand from there. One of those kids now runs the place.

      @@CanobieCoaster visited the halloween nights, 2 years ago, there were like 5 or 6 mazes or so. The "maison de la magie" maze was very immersively and great themed, Witches Forest seemed the weakest. Also I noted, compared to Universal's halloween, its much more family oriented, like you dont see any gore and guts. What I liked in comparison to universal, was that they dont kick people out to reenter for the halloween even, you stay in the park and just pay extra for the mazes. The scare zones were all free, the circus scare zone was unique, it was like a fun house with scary clowns

    I live about 45 minutes away from it, just across the border in Belgium. It's my homepark and I love it so much. Each addition has been better than the one before, and I love how they try to build worlds. Avalon could've been a simple fantasy area, but they decided to give it a backstory and make both rides tell a part of it. Now with the expansion to Avalon, they made sure to continue that story with more new characters. Every ride there fits the story and world of Avalon and I love it so much. They even made sure to keep the sightlines within the area nice with the locations of the new flatrides. I can't wait to see what the future holds for Toverland!
    P.S. I know an ex-employee of Toverland who worked in the D'Wervelwind and Djengu River area. He told me about all 4 flatride types before Toverland announced what they would be (at that point, the only rumors I saw online were of some sort of drop tower, another thrill ride, and two family rides. That employee correctly told me the specific type of all 4 of these). He also told me that the park is eyeing an Intamin blitz or Mack multilaunch for the next project, probably around 2026. If it is true, I will be so happy

    • @CanobieCoaster

      If they get one of those two coaster types, that will be an excellent addition and it would likely become the new best ride in the park. I hope it happens!

    @Canobie Coaster recently I've been trying to start up my own coaster channel. So far I've made two videos, but thus far I've felt the editing process of my videos incredibly tedious. Any tips to make editing less tedious? I like writing my scripts, but editing is just a chore. Secondly, I'm having trouble seeing what's a good volume for background music. If you could help me out, that would be great.

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  Год назад +1

      The volume for background music is one I struggle with since it partly depends on the quality of your speakers. I usually set the audio 30-40 dB less than the narration. As for editing, it's easiest if all the footage is there when you hop into the editor (ex. Not stopping to download more).

    • @diskyboy1990
      @diskyboy1990 Год назад

      @@CanobieCoaster thanks so much for your help! I've started downloading all my media early for the remaining parts of the video and it really does speed up editing. Thanks for the tip. As for the music, I download all of mine from different sources so getting them all to the same volume level is a chore, but just one I'll have to accept. I try to keep all my music clearly herable, but still firmly in the background so you can hear the narration mine. Anyway thanks foe all your help, your channels one of the main inspirations behind mine, and none of my videos would be possible without you, thanks to your extensive catalog of off rides footage.

    I really hope this park gives Boosterbike some much-needed TLC. Its motorbike vehicles with little theming makes it stick out like a sore thumb. Imagine if they made the main ride area into a forest (trees around the helix) and made the vehicles look like broomsticks... Would love to see that

    So they brought a wild mouse coaster into the park just to keep guests entertained for a little bit. That's interesting. Although I personally would've kept that coaster for the sake of giving guests more things to do, and I would've given it a retheme to make it fit more into whatever land it was placed in.

    Toverland is planning on adding a proper overnight stay option in the near future I’ve heard, so that might change soon.
    I could honestly see this park becoming the unquestionable number 2 of the Dutch theme park industry in the next 15 years. Ofc Efteling is the untouchable number 1, but if they keep this momentum up they’ll surely leave Walibi in the dust. This park has a very good location between other parks and near 3 countries with big cities all around and it doesn’t have the height and space constrains most Dutch parks do.

      @@ElectriKong- This is a common misconception that I don't believe to be true. Tussauds purchased the park in 1998 and started making thrilling investments before the fire with Tidal Wave in 2000. I think they always had plans for it to be a thrill park, especially with Chessington nearby. Plans for Colossus must have also been underway before the fire. Yes the fire probably did speed up the process, with Nemesis Inferno, Detentor and Zodiac all likely opening earlier than originally intended, but it was not the cause.

    For me this is by far the best park in the Netherlands, I know that's a bold claim, because Efteling, but Toverland has something the Efteling doesn't have, the company vibe is just about service, always nice employees, and it almost feels like family somehow, maybe because the park is family owned, but it's service and hospitality never fails, with the Efteling it just feels so much more commercial, and I'm not a big fan of that, I'm even afraid, as Toverland keeps on growing, they too will fall in that commercial area.
