Now think about how many people can't do a single pull up! That number is so much smaller. I remember I couldn't do more than 15 push-ups or a single pull up when I was 21. But just a year after starting to train it I could do 75 and 10 respectively. People can't do them because they just aren't used to the movement, I really believe that.
Yea i got slapped real hard with that reality about 4 months ago . Two damn push ups is all i could do . Up to Three sets of ten pushups each set now . Still along way to go . Only excuse i had was that i’m 60 years old .
It feels so sad to see that people in their 20s can't do even a single pushup and I am just 15 year old and can do 50-60 pushups at a time like....easily, let's take your father's example bruh but these people.....ah shit here we go again😭
Men who are not extremely overweight can usually do some push ups. Women on the othe hand, even fit women, can often not do a single push up. I was probably 14 or 15 when I found out that girls who were doing competitive sports sometimes couldn't do a single push up and it confused the hell out of me, as I thought almost everyone could do push ups. Now it makes sense, women, at average, do have 60% less upper body strength at the same weight, so push ups will be naturally harder for them.
So true, the comments are really dense for not acknowledging this. I was 17, a lower end of healthy weight who dabbled in running and yoga. So not strong, but very slim, I couldn't do one press up! Now I'm 20, I can do about 20 (ironically) since I have done strength training for almost 2 years now on and off. Still have a long way to go but, most women starting off cannot do one. A solid beginner range is about 5 with intermediate level being just under 20 reps. Anything abover 30 press ups is incredibly impressive for a woman. I've actually gained a fair bit of fat since then so it's really about the general baseline strength women have, not about being overweight/ inactive. Press ups are not easy and if youre a woman, you're not weak for not being able to do one, just untrained.
@@sarahloy2003 Your 20 push ups are already amazing. I'm a man and I can probably do between 10 and 15 right now. I never, in my whole life, explicitly trained push ups, and I used to be able to do probably 30 push ups, when I was 20. Men and women are just built differently, we need to start acknowledging that. A man who can do 30 push ups isn't amazing, but a woman is. For a man, 50 or even 60 push ups are probably on the level of 30 push ups for women.
@@sarahloy2003No, you're weak if you're not able to; You don't get to change the definitions of words to make yourself feel better; You are weak because you are untrained; Therefore, train yourself to become strong; Don't be mentally weak, either, and sugarcoat words;
Yes. Unfortunately people don’t realize how limited their community is. Same with playing chess. Maybe relative to/within chess community, average chess player is considered as “bad”. But even average chess player is better than 80% of actual human population in that one thing. Same thing with swimming, playing instruments etc. People are so pre-occupied with measuring themselves up against select few that they don’t notice how their growth elevated them against predominant majority
I didn’t realize how weak people are. I remember gym glass in middle school requiring 10 push ups at each warm up. I thought it was a basic ability, like knowing how to swim or ride a bike
Reminded me of how weak I felt when I challenge myself to do start doing pushups couple years ago. I barely did only 1. Made me reflect about myself and why I always ran away from pain. Changed my perspective forever. You don't have to feel bad for your lack of strength, you just have to be willing to do more.
The daughter gave up. As soon as she didn't initially move, she cut the effort. The mom probably wasn't much stronger, but when she didn't initially move, she increased the effort to her max and moved. She gritted her teeth, her face was red, and she was shaking. The daughter didn't show any of those signs of effort.
She also let her form drop to make the movement easier though. I guarantee if you she kept her core tight she wouldnt have gotten back up. I think what really went wrong with the daughter is she went down, didnt hit the button and started going back up, realised she hadnt hit the button, tried to go back down, and by that point was just done for.
You make this sound so judgy.. xD Many humans also just aren't really comfortable in front of a camera, so at the first notice of a mistake many feel that immediate sense of shame and quit whatever they were trying to do
I once tried to show I couldn't do a pushup and ended up somehow successfully doing one, but it messed up my shoulder for a week. That lady has the wisdom from life experience I have yet to gain
I didn't see this as a sad reality. Rather, I realized how relative success is in the world of fitness. Bodybuilders get too caught up in their shape, powerlifters in their PR, athletes in their skill, etc. But to the average person, they don't see these flaws and see you as walking examples of success. It's nice to look back once in a while and celebrate even the little milestones, like that one push-up. The failures you see now are the achievements other people see.
Thing is, being able to do one pushup is the most basic of the basic stuff. It's not a milestone, it should be a starting point, and it's a shame that there are young people out there who are so goddamn weak.
@@paolomarsico607 but my point still remains: success is relative. To the disabled person with bone deficiencies, a pushup is a big achievement. To the active teenager, it's a basic skill. Fitness is not definite, and people are born with different bodies. Assigning, as how you put it, "shame" to someone because they were unable to do "basic stuff" is needlessly demeaning and counterproductive. I firmly believe that in fitness, we should celebrate discipline, not shame inability. There are different ways to be healthy, and one push-up isn't always the best indicator of health.
@@vivaleroca7511 I generally agree with you, but your argument is too often used to justify lazyness and general weakness. I dislike the modern "low expectations" fitness model where a 25 yo man gets to pat himself on the back for being able to do 5 pushups. The truth is that most of us are incredibly physically weak, even relatively to their age and health. Edit: I agree that discipline is essential, but a man's body reflects how disciplined he is, and a weak body is sign of poor discipline (when no pathologies are involved)
@@paolomarsico607No this is actually quite an objectively idiotic take. It requires a distinct lack of self awareness to project your own personal standards and lifestyle unto others, to then judge them for being inadequate at the things you have deemed important. It’s great that you find fulfillment in exercise and enjoy building discipline and work ethic through that practice. However, that does not mean that everyone else needs to be like you or they are lazy and not pushing themselves hard enough- in the direction you have dictated is best for them, mind you. It’s asinine and incredibly unhelpful, especially to people like this who are clearly pushing themselves even when they fall slightly short of your own expectations. Shame is not conducive to growth in any avenue, encouragement is. The dude you are replying to is correct that success is not only relative, but also subjective. You don’t get to set goals for someone else and then look down on them when they inevitably ‘fail,’ because you have no clue what they personally are working towards in the first place, and seemingly don’t care lol. Let people celebrate small wins and celebrate your own; if exercise were truly just about personal fulfillment and discipline for you, you shouldn’t gaf where other people are in their personal journeys with it if they even decide to utilize fitness in that same measure. So celebrate and practice minding your business when others do the same over something that seems so far beneath your expectations. Empathy truly is not that hard, bro.
The best thing about this whole conversation is that a lot of the people who clown folks for not being able to do a pushup can't actually do a proper pushup themselves. Half-reppin babydoggies.
…. It is nice that you defend a group of people that are being shamed for no reason… But doing so by shaming and generalizing another group of people reduces any weight your argument could have possibly had to 0.
@kingol4801 no, it doesn't. My argument is, ultimately, that a lot of people can't do a proper pushup. That's still a fact, regardless of how I presented it. I'm not even defending anyone; both groups should learn to do a proper push up (if possible). You're just emotional.
try again, brother, this doesn't work for most people who care about push-ups Form is much more important than the number of reps, and that girl barely did 1, and with a very bad form
All these dudes in the comments really showing their strength by besting women in upper body strength lmao Women have about 60% less upper body strength, and combined with the weight distribution of boobs, makes pushups especially difficult. I’ve been to crossfit style programs with extremely fit girls, massive thighs, very low bf %, and only about 20% could do a normal push-up. The average woman athlete can’t do a proper pushup. Most guys can do 5 even in high school. This isn’t a chance to prove your superior fitness 😅
We just did pushups at school today and litteraly almost everybody but me had absolutely horrible form and some couldn’t even do a knee push up with good form
@phyfer What's with all these comments shaming people for not being to do any push ups, but continuing to shame the woman even more who actually tried? No wonder people don't want to better themselves, they get ridiculed for even putting in effort.
It does’t matter how bad you’re at your number of push ups ! , the only thing that matters is your future progresses through the hard work for improving , I sucked once too at push ups , first time when I started (1 year ago+) I was only able to do 4-6 reps with bad form , now I can go at 20 slow and clean form, and couldn’t even do pulls ups , when I learned this mindset for pushups , I am doing the same way with pull ups : I went from 0 to 3-4 clean for reps and controlled in only 2 weeks , never give up brahs ! You got this 💪
I had never done a pushup or equivalent push movement in my life. I was not overweight at all but I still couldn't do a push up when I tried, so I don't find this strange at all. After about 2 weeks of training every other day I could do 10 push-ups, so I can see why those who train even a tiny bit would find it strange that others can't do a single one.
Oh man I remember doing my first push up back in middle and I can honestly relate to how hard it is when you’re not use to doing it. Massive respect to the ladies just for giving it a shot💪
Honestly, I think it's just physically harder for women than men. I used to be a competitive figure skater, skated twice a day 6x a week, had an off ice personal trainer and was able to do things such as multiple pistol squats in a row, yet still struggled to do one push up properly. Center of gravity and muscle mass distribution is a real thing.
I get what your saying but a push up is weight dependent so if your a girl and you weight at the same as a man then yea the man has the advantage but if the man is heavier (most men weight more then women) then it is harder for the man.
I’m 43 YO female and I have been exercising since my early 20s and and can do push ups with no problem, decline, incline and regular… Never give up, YOU CAN DO IT!!! ❤

I can't do a pushup at 21 cause I tore my left rotator cup a year ago. But before I could do 30 easily. Rotator cuff injurys suck and basically paralyzes your arm. It sucks cause i cant do what i love anymore which is golf and bodyboarding/swimming. I gained probaly 80 lbs and completely let myself go looking like absolute crap. I can barely move my arm without pain. Some cases are permanent and I hope I can make a full recovery.
I can't understand why people are so negative towards fitness,i mean if you are fit you can do lot more than average person can, which wil ultimately give u confidence
It’s easier for young girls even when they don’t intentionally exercise their upper body, in middle school the girls with literal twig arms could get at least 5. Once you’re in your 20s it gets much more difficult. 15 is impressive though. I’m 23 and can pick my 200 lb dad up off the ground, which is more than twice my weight, I can sling a camp pack that weighs as much as me onto my back, I’m a great rock climber, but I can’t do a pushup. It’s not that I’m not strong or have bad form, it’s just that the muscles I’d need to engage to do a push up aren’t enough to push-up my body weight. I can do pull-ups (which involve my back muscles and biceps/forearm and involve more of my entire body weight than push ups), but not push ups which have more to do with the triceps (back of the upper arm), pecs and abdominal muscles. I don’t really need those muscles to be as strong as the others anyways, rock climbing requires me to pull myself towards the wall and doing physical tasks in daily life doesn’t require the weaker muscles that keep me from doing a push up to be that strong

Some days I can barely do 3, but then I rest and happens that the next time is easier. So idk just that, train little by little when you have the time, I hope one day I'll be at my fullest with calisthenics or sum. My ass can’t do a normal push up no matter how hard I try, my form always breaks, I have to do a knee variation. Its really just a matter of training, so don’t go too hard on people. Although I think we should encourage exercise a lot more as a society, we should do so in a way that doesn’t shame people, because frankly, that pushes them away (watching everyone say what I was struggling to do was easy and I should be able to do it certainly pushed me away from trying or improving). I’m training, so I’ll be able to do a push up some day (hopefully only a week or two) it’s just strength that never gets excercised in my day to day life.
Hi there! If you’re trying to get your first push-up, I think I have a more efficient way you can go about it. The problem with the knee push-up as a regression is that you can’t really scale it - one day you’re going to have to go from knee pushups to a real push-up all at once. Instead, try inclined push-ups, where you do a push-up in regular form, but against an elevated surface like a table, counter, or if those are too hard, even a wall. This shifts more of your weight onto your legs, whereas a normal push-up places most of your bodyweight through your arms. You’ll find you can do many reps like this at some level (even just against the wall), and as you progress you can lower the elevation over time until eventually you get to the floor, at which point you’re doing regular pushups! Hope this helps some :)

Push-ups are hard. You think you can do it, “oh that’s easy, just one?! No prob” but then when you actually try, you can’t! I’ve spent 3 months working out and I can just now this week do my first real, good form push-up. Started with pushups against the kitchen counter. When I could do 30 straight I went to knee push-ups and when I could do 20 straight of those I said hey let’s try it and I did 2… before collapsing 😂 progress is progress!
Good form (correct form) is key here. Many of the people ik irl that claimed to do "oh so many pushups" did it horribly: knees rested on the ground, or hands in the middle (easier to lift), or my favorite: only going down like a couple inches and calling it a rep. Many of the people here claiming its so easy to do 100+ would more then likely fail doing it the PROPER form way. Yea, push ups are hard lol.

As an Asian, i can relate

@kingol4801 no, it doesn't. My argument is, ultimately, that a lot of people can't do a proper pushup. That's still a fact, regardless of how I presented it. I'm not even defending anyone; both groups should learn to do a proper push up (if possible). You're just emotional.

@@caleb7882 thank you for the advice! I’ll have to try it out!
I watched this and then did 20 diamond pushups out of disappointment towards those people
Hell yeah brother. Put that work in💪🏾
I'm also going to do some pushups for these people. Hold on a sec.
Nailed it.
Ill do 100
This actually makes me feel better about myself. I used to feel bad for only doing 30 pushups.
Three years ago, I collapsed at 8 reps. In 2023, I can do minimum 27, possibly more and I don't wanna jinx it! 💪
Sorry but that is not good progress for 3 years.

When I was depressed and living a sedentary lifestyle for months, no exercise at all, I could do 17 pushups and I felt ashamed to be that weak. I can't imagine not being able to do a single push up.
He was asking women, women have significantly less muscle mass on their upper body compared to men.
Literally when I was at my weakest never ever working out just scrolling through insta and what ever playing video games and shit I could still do at least 15 it’s crazy that people can’t even do one
@@andyyhimselfhe asked a man??? Bro said he couldn’t…

I did my first push up at 34 and feel so proud to see my upper body grow better than before. Now I am 37 and feel so regrets not doing push up when younger.
Wtf how didn't you have to do any pushups on school, or idk like dad's are supposed to tell you to exercise, or if you are a male when you hit puberty you should want to train or at least try i mean holy shit 34 years men
Well unlike the other comment that offers absolutely nothing, you can do more push ups than when you were younger! 🎉
@@Andres_2004 I mean it’s crazy but at least he can do it now. Better late than never ig
Realizing how much people can’t do push ups, I feel better about my self cause I can do 50 in a row
I'm in highschool and I did 50 push-ups for a physical exam 💀
That being said, I am an athelete but the fact that an average person can barely do 10 push-ups much less 1 is ridiculous.
You should increase your physical stats, because
1) more motivated
2) more attractive
3) stronger
4) helps to build confidence
5) healthier
6) happier
7) you meet new people, because they want to talk to you
8) smartness increases a little too
9) helping people around you physically
10) noticeable (I'm not joking, I am an introvert and really reserved to people, but somehow as soon as I started to change physically and doing the things I love and even achieving success in it, people started talking about me.)
I did that. I actually started getting tired of all the attention
1 - nice
2 - depends
3 - good
4 - awesome
5 - super awesome
6 - super awesome
7 - meh, if you dont want to then its useless
8 - not sure about that
9 - nice
10 - can be a bad thing
this aint ah "how to get women video"
So your happiness comes from external environment and the people that exist in it and not from within?
@@AnusheelSharma What makes you think like that?
I always thought I was really weak because I can only do 15-20 push ups in a row max, now I am to the point I can do it for 30 seconds straight but I still thought I needed more improvement but after hearing that people can bearly do 1 push up makes me feel confident also I don’t really believe that, I think everyone can do atleast 4 in a row
I think this video is not showing an average person. Just remeber your friends. Do you have some, that is not able to do one push-up? All my friends I know can do at least 10 push-ups, even overweight. There are planty of people that can do hundreds or thousand push-ups.
@Were talking about one set, meaning in a row without resting. nobody can do hundreds or thousands. Joe Rogan did 75 on his show and he's completely Roided out.
15-20 is average for a man. These are females. The military requires 30 something minimum to pass. 20 is a good starting point because you can do proper sets.
The first lady was sassy it would kill my shoulder😂💀
I’m 180 pounds, 6’3 and 14 years old, o can do 35 push-ups in a set. That’s why we hit the gym my dude, for that one guy who will eventually ask us to do 1

You can't expect someone to push a button that's placed between breasts. That's really difficult even for people who can do pushups.
Its not 💀 its just a normal push up. Chest to the floor and up again
@@El-Paptron7 no not chest to floor but close like 1-2 inches off the floor but touching is not correct
Because then you are basically on the floor

try to get to 50
In December i was able to do 10-15 push-ups in a row and now after working out for a few months, i can do 30 push-ups in a row not a massive improvement, but it's an improvement nonetheless.
It's just few months bro, it's good progress
So is that why in horror movies when they fall that's why they just don't get and run ??? Not because they are hurt but weak ASF omg lmao 🤣😭💀

Watch out for puberty. It tends to make women weaker… I used to be able to do pull-ups before puberty, but not a chance after…. but maybe you can keep your progress, gl.

Quality over quantity
Its crazy how weak the average person is
This is unfortunately the sad reality. I'm considered overweight but I can easily do a push up. Yet by some standards I'm considered unhealthy because I work out regularly.
This (the vid) isn’t a sad reality.
